Tucked away on 3 acres of horse property in the city of Rancho Santa Fe / Elfin Forest, these lodgings are located in San Diego’s North County. The available space is a furnished, self-contained 1-bedroom Casita with a full kitchen and on-site laundry. Nearby is the Elfin Forest Preserve, known for its extensive horse & walking trails. In a 20-minute car ride, you can be at neighboring Legoland, Del Mar Racetrack, the beaches of Encinitas / Carlsbad, the San Diego Wild Animal Park, or on your way to downtown San Diego. The location affords the peace and quiet of country living, yet close enough to the various attractions in and around San Diego. These are the perfect accommodations for an extended vacation or short-term housing.

We needed a safe quiet place to stay with our two cats while our house was getting tented, and this spot was perfect! Clean and cozy, plenty of amenities, and we got to meet some of the resident animals (pigs and pugs and ponies, oh my!). Thank you, William and Holly!

Quiet Cottage Bliss

Lovely cottage became our home away from home. The hosts were great and we had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. Well appointed kitchen, comfortable bed, huge walk-in closet. We would definately stay again.

Truly wonderful

I was absolutely satisfied with the excellent environment and the property owner. I wished I could have stayed longer, but unfortunately, the place was already booked. I would definitely love to stay here again.

Beautiful property. Our living space was clean and nicely upgraded. The property is a mini-ranch that we were free to roam. The hosts were friendly and informative. Legoland and other places are not far. We couldn't have asked for a better stay. We will likely stay again.

Elfin Forest Delight

It was such a comfortable cabin and the owners are really nice accommodating people. Close enough to town but fun to hang out at property. The grounds were fun to walk around on and perfect for our dog. The animals are adorable and friendly. We will be going back. It was right up our alley!

Beautiful Retreat in the Elfin Forest

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay on this property. It is a two acre gated estate that we were allowed to explore during our stay. It is very private and quiet. It is beautiful and comfortable. The owners are on site and very welcoming. We could not have asked for more in a short term rental property and will visit there again if we get the chance.

Definetely nice to have your own little cottage with cooking and clothes washer. Beautiful remote location close to everything. Cottage is well kept and made well. Owners are friendly, and will engage with you if you have questions, but otherwise leave you alone to enjoy the place.

This property is ideally located if your goal is to enjoy SoCal while enjoying a truly quiet, comfortable, relaxing place to rest away from the hustle of city “busy”. Awesome casita

Willam and Holly are gracious hosts. Their casita was very comfortable and clean it has everything you could need. Perfect for 2 people. For our visit the location was perfect. Close to major shopping areas and entertainment. Loved their animals especially Snoop Dog❤️if we are ever in that area again we will definitely be staying there again. Nancy and Pete

Beautiful Casitas

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the casitas! It was a very comfortable space with fine attention to details. Beautiful woodwork in the kitchen, which was well stocked with everything we could possibly need. For coffee lovers, they had a kurig, coffee pot & French press with an electric kettle. Property grounds were beautiful and the property was very secure. Can’t wait to go back!!!

The guest house is comfortable and nicely updated. It is a great location, about 20 minutes to Carlsbad beach and relatively close to all San Diego sights. We enjoyed lots of adventures, hiking, exploring, and beach days.Tip: this is a working ranch and very dog friendly. Please note that there are several dogs, and a cute little pig, that roam freely about the property. They are friendly, but be aware that your dog needs to be ok with that. It is a secluded location and when the dogs hear something, they may bark at night.

Responsive hosts, nice property

We had a lovely stay. It's a but of a haul, but we wanted privacy, so that was expected. Owner's home is right next door, we had hoped there would be more distance as our dogs bark, and we did not want to disturb anyone. Very responsive hosts. Nice property.

As advertised and very cozy

Spent 10 days here with my dog and my wife. We had a very pleasant experience with both William and Holly our hosts. Kitchen bath and bedroom all well stocked. If you enjoy dark skies and quiet, this is the place for you. Grocery store and a few restaurants very close by. Plenty of other restaurants nearby deliver via GrubHub. We will be back to enjoy this location again.

Very peaceful and great property!

I read this to stay near San Diego for a funeral. this property really fit the bill ass. It allowed me some peace and quiet away from the bustle of the city. The guest house that you rent is very nicely furnished and has plenty of amenities. you can get some local food about 3 miles away. The owners respect my privacy, but were there if I needed them.

Very nice

Our stay was great. Our cottage had everything you could possibly want, including one adorable beagle (snoop). It was exactly as pictured The place was very quiet and just across the street was a walking trail that ran for miles into the hills. Bill and Holly were perfect hosts. A pretty little town was just 2 miles away with everything you need. Carlsbad was a 20 min. drive where you can catch the train to San Diego.

Rural Peacefulness

Property is located on a small ranch just outside more populated areas. Very quiet, owners live next door but rarely seen. Slight problem with the dishwasher was fixed immediately.

Perfect Country Cottage

Peaceful and extremely quiet. I could spend months there. My dog had free run of a fully fenced acreage and friendly dogs to run with. The cottage had every high end appliance you might want, including a washer/dryer combo. I would have liked to stay longer, but was needed at home. The hosts are available for any questions.
