HUGE and shallow sandy beach, perfect sunsets and large backyard with a creek running through it! When you're looking for a place to bring the family up to the lake, look no further. You'll spend hours playing in the water with the kids enjoying the sandy bottom or head out to fish in one of the best lakes in Minnesota! With being walking distance to downtown Glenwood you'll be able to enjoy all of the shops and restaurants Glenwood has to offer. If you enjoy sunsets, you've found the right spot as well as any given day you can sit back from the front porch or down by the lake and enjoy the panoramic views. The beach is located across the street from the house. The house is spacious and well equipped for your summer getaway!

Pictures of the property looked great. But nothing was super maintained when we got there. The lawn mowing service came while we were there so we had to move everything so they could mow. Someone checked out before us that day, so they had to “clean”. The Beds were all changed over and some clean towels out and what not. But there were spiders everywhere in the corners, the floors were sandy in the kitchen, and there was no fans or any AC units running so it was hot as heck in the house.. I contacted Chad a few times and only got a response once or twice. We made due and still had a great weekend.. but not sure we would stay again. Property overall wasn’t super great for kids. The creek across the backyard wasn’t ideal and the road was crazy busy with construction traffic that weekend.

Nice for a couple days away. I think the property is as it is described. The amount of space was awesome. There was a rancid smell in the fridge and the upstairs toilet ran. But I’m sure those have been fixed.

Clean, remodeled bathrooms and kitchen, new appliances.TVs in each bedroom and the living room. We were able to access the TV in the living room after two calls and two codes. We are not very tech savvy. I'm retired so the steep, narrow treads of the stairs started to hurt my knees.Nice to have all the bedrooms on the same level with young grandchildren. New windows in the house so there was no window AC in one of the bedrooms. Hard to cool down. Lovely beach and dock, The municipal beach with a slide is one block away so we had two beaches. There is plenty of traffic on the road, we learned to stop and look most drivers were looking out for pedestrians.

The house worked well for our 7 family members. Quiet neighborhood, not too much traffic going by. Grandkids enjoyed fishing and swimming.

This was our 4th year at this property. We enjoy the location, the lake, and the house. A\C for the front bedroom is still on our wish list. The landscaping could use an update. We'll be back!

Lake Minnewaska Views!

Super cute property with wonderful views and access to the beach. It is apparent this is a well loved family property whose owners chose to share with others. While the circumstances of our trip were for somber reasons, the cabin environment was really nice and comforting.

Good but not great

Overall, the property was good. Would have been better with some minor upkeep. Biggest complaint was the number of spiders inside the house. The beach needs some upkeep. We cleaned up some of the debris and weeds, but there were still weeds that were large and need to be pulled. Once the beach was cleaned up, the kids had fun playing in the sand. The water was pretty clean and the views of sunrise and sunset are amazing.

Enjoyed our stay!

Cute little cabin. Liked that it had towels, utensils, etc to use as needed. Host was easy to get a hold of with questions. Had some issues with the AC and a breaker but was able to resolve those. Grass in the yard was a little long but didn’t bother us. Overall had a great weekend!

Not as described/pictured

I’m not really one to leave reviews, but the girls I was with this past weekend encouraged me to. First, it’s missing house numbers so it was hard to know if we were at the right place. A few cobwebs here and there can be expected, but we killed at least 20 spiders upon our arrival - hanging out in every corner. There was no AC in one of the bedrooms. The shower curtain fell every time we used it. The beach was covered in weeds and trash - not a place I would want my kids to play. Since we couldn’t lay in the sand as planned, we carried the Adirondack chairs down to the beach just to find nearly every one was badly broken (we ended up sitting on the dock instead). Now to the misleading description. “15 steps to the lake” is actually closer to 100(+) - cross a busy road, walk over to some steps, veer back around to get to the beach. The deck overlooked the backyard - not the lake. These things would be fine had they been accurately portrayed, but I would be extremely disappointed had I booked this for my family with the thought I could grill out while my kids play on the beach 15 steps away. The positives - the house was well-stocked and cute if had been more thoroughly cleaned, the beach would be great if was maintained, and proximity to town was great. I’d personally consider adding a fire pit across the street to be able to have fires overlooking the lake, but that’s a personal preference. Overall, just didn’t meet the mark on the last places we’ve stayed.

Nice location, close to beach

Overall it was a nice stay. The location with the lake view was very nice and picturesque. The kitchen was well-equipped and the beds, pillows, and furniture was all comfortable. The AC kept the place cool, even upstairs, so that was a plus in the summer. There were only a few problems. The property is old, and as with a lot of old houses, the floors seemed to slant in almost every room. Also, in the master bedroom there were only sheers on the front and side windows, whereas there were blinds in the other rooms and downstairs. There was a problem with the TV programming. When turned on, the TV was locked into Amazon Kids even though we followed the directions in the check-in guide. After consulting with the manager, we were finally able to watch TV. It was a little frustrating, in that it was advertised as having "Amazon Prime, Netflix, and HBO Now. All are signed in and ready to use." At night, the side entrance near the driveway was extremely dark and it was difficult to go up the steps without using our cell phone flashlights. Lastly, the property was a little short on basic paper products (TP, paper towels, napkins). But other than those minor inconveniences, I would say that it was a pleasant stay, with close proximity to the beach, shopping and restaurants in Glenwood.

Our 4th Year

This is the 4th summer we've spent at this house! We enjoy the house, the location, the creek, the large back area, the lake. The house is clean upon check in. Communication with property manager is good with timely responses. Areas of improvement include an air conditioner in the front bedroom. Window cleaning to control dirt, bugs, debris. The shoreline should be raked.

Enjoyable

The property and house were great. Could use some fresh couches but decorated nicely. The kitchen was spacious and loved the big table . I washed everything we used before using it. Cabinets and everything in them in the kitchen and bathroom need to be wiped down and washed. They are dirty. I would give it 5 stars except for this.

Nice Town

I would say that it was a nice place and for an old house was nice. Our grand kids loved all the toys and puzzles. We knew there was a road between the house and the lake when we booked. The dock is nice, but no boat lift. The stairs are typical of an older home very steep. the kitchen was spacious and nice. Over all I gave 4 stars. The one thing I had issues with was TVs there were numerous remotes, which in a streaming world is expected, but the instructions for use were basically a couple of lines in a book. The real issue is the instructions say that everything is signed in and ready to use. That wasn't true as it was not possible to get past the need for an access code to access the streaming service that would have shown TNT and the Wolves playoff game. A request to the property manager provided an access code that was for kids access, but did not work for Prime Video. I would offer that this issue was the only thing that dampened our stay. I think in today's world it should be possible to provide and change access codes between tenants. These codes should accompany the welcome packet which should be sent prior to arrival. I think this issue is very fixable, so take it as a suggestion for an improvement rather than a complete negative. Thanks for providing the opportunity to rent.

Fun Labor Day get away

Exactly as listed. VERY WELL STOCKED, especially for the kids...many toys and games for the adults. Don't hesitate to book :) Beautiful lake!

An updated listing would be beneficial, but still a good place!

Thanks for a great stay! We had a great time at the house, and it was a good space for our group. We appreciated the well stocked kitchen items as well as bathroom towels, bedroom linens, kid’s toys, and large outside and indoor table. The backyard was nice, and the grill and play set were enjoyed. We also appreciated the washer and dryer. The dock was nice to use and tie up our boat every now and then. The close boat ramp was nice too. There are a couple things to note that we were disappointed about: there is a road between the house and beach area, the fire pit is not by the creek in the backyard but rather across the road near the beach area, there were no stairs down to the dock (it’s a rocky climb/descent) and the steps in the house upstairs to the bedrooms are very steep. The area where the fire pit was was small over there, didn’t have wood, and didn’t allow all our family to sit around it, so we ended up not using it, which was disappointing. Also to note, there is only one shower and it’s upstairs, which didn’t work well for grandparents since the stairs are so steep, and it didn’t have a bathtub bottom. The third bedroom upstairs did not have a window air conditioner, so it was rather warm even with two fans running. Overall, we enjoyed our stay! Thanks so much!
