Situated on 2+ acres, this "attached guesthouse" offers stunning sunrise views of Hat Island, Puget Sound, and the Cascade Mountains. Relax on your private deck with morning coffee or a bottle of wine from one of Whidbey Islands award winning wineries. We are a 5 min walk to Comforts of Whidbey winery and a 5 minute drive to the seaside village of Langley, filled with fantastic restaurants and charming shops. This property is a perfect couples getaway. Your privacy is our top priority.

First Light is a non-smoking property. We have a no pets and shoes-off policy and no children under the age of 12.

IMPORTANT- if for any reason you need to cancel, YOU MUST CANCEL YOUR OWN RESERVATION. Simply pull up your VRBO account and cancel your reservation directly through VRBO prior to the “no fee cancellation period” of 14 days. I’m sorry for any inconvenience this causes. If you are unable to cancel within the timeframe of 14 days prior to your stay, contact me directly and we can arrange for you to “reschedule “ but I will be unable to provide a refund.

*This guesthouse is designed for two guests only. If you wish to include a third guest you MUST obtain permission from the host and an additional charge will be collected at check-in per person, per night. Please, NO parties.

The guesthouse bedrooms are located on the second floor. The rooms are well appointed but please be aware that the ceiling height on the 2nd floor is 6’-8” and therefore is not recommended for individuals over 6’-5”. The master bedroom has a stunning view and is spacious and very comfortable.
The eat-in kitchen is fully equipped for cooking and the deck offers dining and lounging areas. Deer are frequent visitors and eagles nest nearby.
During March and April keep an eye out for whale watching boats. Gray whales spouting can often be seen.
The living room has a TV with cable and access to Netflix and HBO. There are books, games and puzzles as well as binoculars at your disposal.
There is a fire pit (upon request) with plenty of fire wood, when burn bans are not in place.
Although your privacy is important to us, we are available to answer questions or make recommendations on activities and restaurants.

We had a lovely stay at First Light . The hosts were very welcoming and eager to make our stay comfortable. The location couldn't have been better with an amazing view of the Sound and a great deck to sit out and enjoy the sights.

Wonderful stay!

A clean, comfortable guesthouse with all the amenities, including a large deck with an amazing view! Very peaceful place! Hosts are very attentive to your comfort and experience! Short drive to Langley. Highly recommended!

Wonderful Whidbey Island Vacation

This was our third time staying here. Mary and Mark are wonderful hosts and they have made their place such a relaxing place to enjoy Langley and Whidbey Island. We enjoyed the comfy bed, plentiful blankets, and coffee in the morning while sitting out on the porch enjoying the beautiful view of the water and mountains in the distance. It was definitely a great place to unwind.

I so highly recommend your staying here! I've vacationed here four times, and every time we start to plan our next trip even before we leave. It has everything you need, including a beautiful deck with gorgeous views. Its proximity to Langley is icing on the cake. This time we took the ferry over to Port Townsend for the day - so fun!

Beautiful Serenity

An absolutely amazing location, cottage and hosts. The perfect getaway from the city life. The view was breathtaking and the cottage was just gorgeous! The host met us on arrival and made is feel right at home. It couldn’t have been a nicer place to relax and celebrate a 40th birthday! Highly recommend this to anyone!

Great view and nice place. We had a nice relaxing stay. The only thing was we were surprised that the guest house was not detached. Maybe put that in the notes? Fortunately it was still a great place to stay.

Wedding Anniversary - Perfect!

We couldn't be happier with our stay at FIRST LIGHT on Whidbey! The property was everything and more than was advertised. The owners, Mary and Mark, were wonderful, friendly and accommodating hosts! The views and location near Langley (town) were fabulous! The house was so comfortable, quiet and restful. It was hard to leave that view! Whidbey is a beautiful Island and First Light is our new favorite place to stay. We will return!

Perfect

The guest house was very clean and comfortable. The deck, view and location was just as pictured. The owners thought of every convenience. There were nice snacks and food in the refrigerator, magazines and books. It is within walking distance is a nice winery and the owner sent a list of activities and restaurants. I highly recommend it!

Best view ever!

Staying at First Light was a dream! Mary and Mark are fantastic hosts and the place itself is lovely—clean, well-equipped, comfortable. The view is so breathtaking we had to force ourselves to leave and go do things. And when we did, downtown Langley was less than ten minutes away. We were also very close to both the Coupeville ferry (~30 minutes) and the Clinton ferry (~10 minutes). Highly recommend First Light and can’t wait to come back!

Exceeded Expectations

Mary was there to greet us when we arrived. Mark and Mary were outstanding hosts. Fridge stocked with eggs and butter, cream and english muffins. Spectacular views from the deck. Spent the evenings sitting on the deck, with wine and music. Looking at dates now to return in the Spring. Had a blast! Thanks Mark and Mary!

My husband and I were celebrating our 28th anniversary and wanted something with a beautiful view, was quiet and relaxing. I was hesitant at first, knowing this little place was part of a bigger home. I couldn't have been more surprised. It had such good reviews and I thought why not. It more than exceeded our expectations. We got exactly what we were looking for. The owners, Mary and Mark, make sure you are left alone, but only a text away if something goes wrong. They were absolutely perfect and so was our getaway. We will definitely return to this little jewel.

This property is always a delight, but it's the hosts who truly elevate the experience.
