Hummingbird Cottage is a unique 1 bedroom farm style cottage in the woods.

Its a peaceful magical place to unwind
Four acre property gives you a chance to breath in the beauty of nature.
Come to San Diego County and enjoy some of the best weather in the nation. The property sits on top of a hill with beautiful panoramic views! Tucked away from the road and very private.
This place was created as a hideaway to help guests step back from the fast pace of life and take the time to decompress and be in the moment.
The cottage is about 450 square feet of farmhouse charm and roomy inside.
Hiking trails right outside your door. Away from the hustle bustle of the city in a rural setting but also close to shopping, dining amusement parks, beaches, mountains, it really is the perfect location.
Sit outside on the covered front porch and relax in the rocking chair or sit at the bistro table for alfresco meals.
Vista is said to have the third best climate in the nation!
We do not have air conditioning but we do offer plenty of fans.
Step inside to a fresh open concept living space including a full kitchen with stove,oven,butcher block counters and a farm sink.

Enjoy a romantic cozy evening just staying-in with the electric fireplace or hit the town and explore everything north county San Diego has to offer.
Stretch out on the lounge chairs on the deck at night and enjoy night lights in the distance.
You may get serenaded by the bullfrogs or hear coyotes owls and other wildlife here.
That’s what makes Hummingbird Cottage special.

Beautiful cottage!

Loved our time at this picturesque cottage! It was perfectly positioned in-between Carlsbad and San Diego and the hosts were lovely! Definitely a perfect place to stay!

My mother booked this trip for my birthday, and we had an amazing time together. The place was very cozy and relaxing, and the hosts were friendly and helpful. Overall, everything was wonderful.The only minor issue was that nearby houses and daytime outdoor activity can take away from the natural setting, as you may hear children and people playing outside. This is outside of the hosts’ control, but it may be helpful to mention it in the listing so guests are aware.I truly enjoyed spending this time with my mother and would definitely come back!

Hummingbird Cottage - A Must Stay Get Away

Hummingbird Cottage is a cozy, romantic get away spot. It is beautifully appointed and perfect for two. It is close to all that you would want to do in San Diego and the surrounding areas. We will definitely be back, and the farm fresh eggs were an added bonus!

Cottage of Zen

This property was absolutely adorable! From the time you pull up to the time you leave you will not be disappointed. Everything you could possibly need is there for you. It’s like you’re walking into a Pottery Barn catalog. The views are breathtaking! If you’re ready for some relaxation and a great getaway this is the place for you.

Just What I Wanted

It has everything you need for quick weekend getaway. We actually extended our stay because we were enjoying ourselves so much. It’s private, cozy, intimate, easy access hiking, with all the modern amenities, and minutes from town. This is so well thought out. It really was everything we wanted/ needed, and better than what we anticipated.

Very quaint and secluded

Marie and Allen were great hosts. The place was just as advertised but the pictures don’t really give the full effect of being in nature with all its sounds and beauty. The cottage was well appointed and stocked with the necessities. We took advantage of the hiking trail which is literally steps from the front porch. No complaints whatsoever. I highly recommend this place as it is a steal for the price.

Hummingbird Cottage

I loved this cottage! Very cute and very clean. Gorgeous view. I can tell the hosts put alot of thought and care in decorating and setting up the cottage. The hosts were wonderful and I thank them very much for an awesome stay. I was in San Diego for a memorial which was a little emotional. But it was so great to come back to the cottage and sit on the deck, relax and take in the wonderful view. Thank you so much! I would definitely stay there again!

A perfect choice!

Marie and Allen were wonderful, accommodating, kind hearted hosts, with an attentiveness to detail in providing a clean, calm, respite, that was a pleasure to awaken in and to return to each evening. The space is lovely, welcoming, warm and comfortable. It has been beautifully created/decorated with care and concern for guests enjoyment and comfort. I found everything that I needed for my stay. Thank you for providing such a lovely environment, it was much appreciated. I enjoyed listening to the sounds of nature in the evenings as I fell asleep and when I awoke. I hope to stay again for my next visit to the area. Thank you!

Vista cottage

The cottage had beautiful views, and a path to the walking trail just outside the door. It was very private, clean and well maintained. The hosts were responsive and gracious. The downfall is the construction is noisy and likely going to affect the beautiful views. There also is an excess of items on the cottage tables and other spaces (Pillows, kick knacks, etc) that although are tasteful, take up space needed by visitors for their things. A nonslip bathmat or alternative is needed in the shower/tub. We would return.

Hello travelers!
My husband Allen and I will be hosting you at a very special place called Hummingbird Cottage. We just remodeled this little guest house and decided to offer it to vacationers around the world. We would love to meet you and offer you a chance to relax and truly get away from it all.
Please read all the house rules before you book.
No visitors and only 2 registered guests. One car.
This little farmhouse is nestled in the woods on the far side of our 4 acre property in the lovely hills of Vista. Once you arrive on the top of the hill you will be in awe of the panoramic views of the country and city.
We are in a rural setting but only 5 minutes from the freeway and all shopping.
Vista is known for all of its great craft beer breweries and the second best climate in the nation!
We are in between Sea World and Disneyland in north San Diego Co and if you have never been here you are in for a treat!
There is so much to do in San Diego it is really something you have to check out for yourself.

Allen and I rescue Yorkshire Terriers and are animal lovers. We have 5 rescues now and all of them have forever homes here with us.
We also raise chickens for eggs and love to spoil our hens. The eggs they give us are incredible and we offer them for sale if we have extras. They are amazing!
You will find me at home in the main house quilting, cooking, sewing, crocheting, knitting, decorating or something creative.
Allen works a couple of jobs so is very busy but loves to be here to meet our guests. We have been married 35 years now and both of us were in the hospitality business when we met at a restaurant in Irvine.

Once you arrive you will be able to leave your cares behind and really appreciate the farmhouse charm we love here.
Farm style is a reflection of simpler times and we really wanted to put that character into this place. As the world gets more hectic sometimes we just really need to step back and do simple again.
