Located in Vicalvi, in the heart of the Val di Comino, 30 minutes from the NATIONAL PARK OF ABRUZZO, 20 minutes from Cassino, equidistant from Rome and Naples, IL FALCONIERE offers two gardens and free Wi-Fi throughout building. Stay in a centuries-old home, which will take you back in time, having the impression of living in a past made of handmaids and jesters, tournaments and investitures, ladies and knights.

Discover the amazement of large spaces within a fortified medieval village. Let yourself be conquered by the magic of a garden of aromatic plants. Walks in the enchanting vast orchard, from which the gaze widens over the valley, dominated by the imposing walls of a Lombard castle of the century. XI.

Through a very respectful restoration of the importance of the place on the one hand, sensitive to the needs of maximum comfort on the other, the house is a successful example of innovation in tradition. Antique furniture and fine finishes are found in warm rooms equipped with brand new plant engineering. The apartment consists of a lounge, three bedrooms, two bathrooms. Sensitive to the rights of the disabled, we have equipped the largest bathroom with a floor shower, w. c. with built-in bidet (in addition to another bidet) and sink without column as well as handles and handrails.

You will have at your disposal a suggestive kitchen, obtained in part from the large chimney hood, but with maximum usability and equipped with oven, fridge and dishwasher. The availability of the washing machine completes the equipment of the apartment for a stay with every comfort.

The lounge retains its ancient charm intact: large, evocative, with a large central fireplace, which will allow you to spend slow life evenings, lulled by the chime of the clock.

Top of town

This was our second time staying with Monica and this location is great and extremely roomy and very clean. Thank you for the beautiful cake and sharing your garden with us again. If in region this is a must stay and close to many great little towns.

Home Away from Home

My family thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Il Falconiere. There were 7 of us, including two preteens, and we were very comfortable. Monica and her husband are charming hosts who took care of our every need. Also, Monica welcomed us with her homemade cake, which was absolutely delicious. Thank you for an unforgettable vacation stay!

Vicalvi trip

Incredibly satisfied with this stay! The property managers where excellent, they left food and a baked cake. Her home made cake was a lovely touch and extremally appreciated. The location was quiet and very historical. Would definitely stay here again. The Falconier is a must stay!! Thank you for everything! Loved that we where so close to the ruins of the old castle. hope to see and stay with you again in the future.

Hidden treasure

Vicalvi is a very small hill town at the foot of the ruins of a 12th century castle in the Val di Comino. The buildings are very old so it was a great surprise to see just how comfortable and modern the inside of Il Falconiere was. The views of the valley from the tiny church piazza are truly lovely. The street outside the property is cobbled and very steep, be prepared for exercise!

I have travelled a lot and this was by far one the most incredible unique places I have ever stayed. Full of history, wonderful antiques, beautiful gardens and comfortable beyond belief! All this in a historic medieval hilltop town. 3 bedrooms, 2 modern full baths, comfortable bedding fully stocked kitchen and above all authentic! Close to fascinating sites to visit. This was truly the highlight of our trip. The home was hosted by a truly lovely family with vast roots in Vicalvi. They went above and beyond to make our stay a truly memorable one. Provided us with a stocked refrigerator to get us started and an incredible home baked cake that was to die for! Wonderful restaurants close by. We will certainly return…. Again and again. I cannot recommend this home highly enough- book this place NOW! BEST PLACE in 25 years of traveling! Monica and family, thank you from the bottom of my heart PERFECTION- this is how this should be done!!!!!!

What a rare pleasure to stay in such a characterful and beautiful house and to feel so comfortable and peaceful. It’s in a stunning historic location with easy access to Arpino and other wonderful places where you can see a waterfall in the centre of town or take a nature walk around a lake. As for the host, Monica and her husband were so very kind, welcoming and hospitable. The kitchen was well equipped and they were generous in their provision of food items. The crowning glory had to be Monica’s delicious cake. We would love to return in Spring and spend time in the glorious and aromatic gardens.

Italian History

This home was stepping back in time in the medieval town of Vicalvi. The home was 300 years old and lovingly restored and filled with antiques. Very quiet streets within the medieval walls. The beds were very comfortable and the kitchen had everything you would need for cooking and dining. A wonderful treat was Monica's delicious cake waiting for us. They also had some starter foods and drinks for us. Domenico greeted us at our arrival and showed us the house and his fabulous herb garden. This was our base for trips to Rome, Pompeii, Gaeta and Monte Cassino Abbey. We would definitely return to this charming home

Medieval Castle Stay

As we were en route to this property, we saw the castle on the hill from a distance, but had no idea we were actually staying there! What a spectacular property! We were met by Domenico to guide us the last part of the trip and then greeted by Monica with a tour of her garden as she shared her love & knowledge of herbs (as a foodie myself, it was wonderful to share!). She was also generous with her delicious chocolate cake (so yummy, we had it for breakfast the next morning as well as an evening snack!) along with various breakfast items. The property was very well equipped and, though historical, there were modern conveniences to make our stay comfortable. As a host, Monica was very helpful with my questions before our arrival and she and Domenico were welcoming but unintrusive once we were settled. We would definitely recommend the area and their property again - we enjoyed a spectacular drive through the Abruzzo National Park on the morning after our stay!

E' una casa molto bella e particolare, con due giardini di cui quello a livello molto accogliente e quello superiore, adiacente alle mura longobarde e con una bellissima vista, molto romantico. Romantico, e per fortuna anche fresco dal tardo pm alla tarda mattina è anche il posto, e la padrone di casa ci ha sempre fornito una eccezionale assistenza

Casa storica in borgo della Val Comino

Splendido weekend in questa casa storica, completamente ristrutturata, dal sapore antico. Ci siamo rilassati nel giardino, circondati dalle erbe aromatiche. Ottimo punto di partenza per escursioni verso il lago di Posta Fibreno e la valle del Comino. Monica e Domenico ci hanno accolti con calore e simpatia e ci hanno consigliato mete e percorsi. Ringrazio la ns host per la buonissima torta che ci ha fatto trovare come cadeaux di benvenuto. Abbiamo trovato i luoghi incantevoli, la dimora piena di fascino ed i padroni di casa affabili e disponibili.

Prachtige plek

Het huis was werkelijk bijzonder mooi en smaakvol gerestaureerd. De twee tuinen waren heerlijk! Het huis was zeer verzorgd en schoon. We hebben een prima verblijf gehad in Vicalvi.

PROPRIO BELLO E SERENO

Accoglienza gentile, sorridente, di cuore ( inclusa la torta molto buona ). Si respira un'aria serena. Tutto è molto comodo e decisamente bello. Siamo stati proprio bene. E' stata dura rientrare nel vortice cittadino, quindi già è partito il pensiero di tornare al più presto. Un abbraccio affettuoso a Monica e a Domenico da noi e anche dalle amiche a cui ho portato i Vostri saluti che, oltre a ricambiare, mi hanno detto che sono state benissimo e che la prossima volta vorranno fermarsi più giorni.

Mountaintop experience adjacent to the historic castle

Hostess Monica was wonderful. Finding this home nestled in a small village at 600 meter elevation is a little tricky so Monica was there to shepherd us to the front door, give us a tour of the historic surroundings and provide her wonderful homemade baked cake. We were there partially to trace our family roots so Monica established a meeting for us with the local mayor to discuss our family historical records. Her husband Domenico (sp) was kind enough to set up a wonderful dinner for us at a restaurant owned by an associate of his. We were treated like family and can’t wait to return.

Phantastisch

Dieses unglaublich schöne Domizil kann ich jedem wärmstens empfehlen. Es hat an nichts gefehlt, darüber hinaus ist die Freundlichkeit der Besitzerin nicht zu überbieten. Der Empfang war sehr herzlich und man wurde mit der Historie des Hauses vertraut gemacht. Es ist eine Reise wert 😊

fantastico

ci siamo trovati molto bene. Monica e Domenico sono stati molto ospitali, ci hanno accolto in maniera più che amichevole e ci hanno fatto sentire a casa nostra nel vero senso della parola. durante il nostro soggiorno Monica ci ha preparato delle magnifiche torte. Per quanto riguarda la struttura , essa è stata magnificamente ristrutturata, con la cura di tutti i particolari, e offre un confort fantastico. Grazie ragazzi. Torneremo sicuramente

Eine wunderschöne Ferienwohnung

Eine geschmackvoll eingerichtete Ferienwohnung und ein Traumgarten auf zwei Etagen ließen unseren Aufenthalt zu einem besonderen Erlebnis werden. Der Haushalt war bestens eingerichtet. Es fehlte an nichts. Unsere Vermieterin verwöhnte uns alle 2 bis 3 Tage mit einem selbst gebackenen Kuchen. Wenn es möglich wäre würde ich mehr als 5 Sterne vergeben. Renate aus Hamburg

Superbe grande maison

Magnifique et grande maison dans un village médiéval très tranquille. Nous avons apprécié ce séjour dans cette région fort belle et moins touristique. Les propriétaires sont extrêmement sympathiques et veillent à ce que nous ne manquions de rien. Monica est adorable! Molte grazie a voi due! Come lo dicevo in francese, Monica, sei adorabile. Spero poter ritornare in questo posto, nella vostra casa, naturalmente.

A true gem on HomeAway

We had the luck to stay one week at this outstanding place. It is a true gem that is well taken care of. You rent a piece of history in a picturesque town next to an old castle that provides a great view from its large garden. The house is fully equipped and you feel the love that the owners put into this property, providing you with a true experience of Italian hospitality. I am looking forward to stay here again!

Casa davvero incantevole! Dotata di tutte le comodità. A breve distanza da interessanti mete escursionistiche della Ciociaria. Proprietari disponibilissimi ed attenti alla cura di ogni piccolo dettaglio per assicurare un servizio eccellente. Esperienza da ripetere!
