Middle of town lodge style cottage

The Swan St Cottage is a quaint but cozy lodge style place located exactly in the middle of Silver City. It was our first home for our family of 6 for 10+ years and as our girls continue to grow it is updated and cared for by all of us. It took a while before we noticed one of our daughters was leaving her signature (J) on her work. It can be spotted sporadically throughout the property.

What we loveā€¦If you are looking to be in the Gila wilderness you can take a drive in various directions and be there in about 30 minutes. We have a fenced in backyard where behaved dogs are welcome with a fee. We are less than a mile from the track, schools and hospital. Even though traffic can be a little busy on weekdays around 8am and around 3pm you canā€™t hear it in the house or even in the backyard. We have had the same great neighbors for the last 15 years who watch out for each other. We support Local Artists who display and sell their art in the home. We have keyless entry. Yes we have WiFi. We have smart TVā€™s that guests can log into any streaming network they subscribe to. There is a full size washer and dryer, fully equipped kitchen. Even towels designated for your out door adventures to the rivers and and lakes. We have a planet marking on the sidewalk by our front yard from the planet walk that many who pass by stop to read the plaque.

What we donā€™t likeā€¦ I want to be upfront & clear...the neighborhood doesnā€™t look glamorous. Houses are close together and Swan Street is one of the busiest streets in town because we are close to the hospital, schools, and track. It is about 1 mile from downtown, however walking along and crossing highway 180 can be stressful. Especially with little ones and pets. There are some places the sidewalk disappears along the way.

If you are looking to be exactly in the center of silver city on a map, then this is the place to be. If you are looking to be in downtown, or in a remote location in the Gila National Forest, we recommend searching for a place closer to your preference.

5-Star Stay at Crystalā€™s Little House in Silver CityCrystal was an amazing hostā€¦ so welcoming and attentive from start to finish. The house was spotless, cozy, and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. I recommend staying here if youā€™re visiting Silver City.. you wonā€™t be disappointed!

Felt right at home

Quaint cottage in the heart of Silver Springs. Easy access to everything and couldn't beat the location for Tour of the Gila. Small, but very comfortable. We loved the yard for our two large dogs. Had everything we could need, including a BBQ grill.

Cozy and comfortable

Let me start with the shower. Top tier!! The water pressure was great amd tall enough for my husband. There were plenty of spices and pots to cook with, fridge cold. Great location! The cottage is close to Walmart and the downtown shops but not in the center giving you a little more privacy. If we come visit Silver City we 100% will be booking here again.

Fun, whimsical place ! We Loved it.

Easy check in/out. The house is very clean and super cute. Fenced backyard for our dog. We had everything we needed. Lots of bath towels, and kitchen towels. I always bring extra bath towels because most places donā€™t supply very many. Especially kitchen towels. Bed was very comfy. The window units do a great job of keeping the house cool. We loved the eclectic decor. So fun ! We will definitely book it again next time we are in Silver City. Such a cozy place. Thank you for sharing your home with us. I really canā€™t say enough. Pleasantly surprised!!!

Loveley Stay

Great property, great host. Everything we needed with good little touches like some welcome biscotti! Dog loved the backyard and it was a great home base for the Tour of the Gila bike race. Definitely worth a stay if you find yourself in Silver City.

The perfect spot in Silver City

We came into town for a hunting trip and needed a good place to stay with a fenced in yard. This home was perfect! Great location, adequate parking, easy access, large fenced in yard, and fully equipped. We had no complaints and will be booking again!

Our stay was outstanding! The host had thought of just about everything we couldā€™ve needed. The house was very clean and comfortable and welcoming. It made our overall stay very nice. The only thing we needed but wasnā€™t on site was cooking sprayā€¦but we managed šŸ˜‰šŸ˜šŸ‘. PERFECT location if your stay involves anything at/on the WNMU campus.

The house was amazing, so clean and so efficiently put together. I only had one real problem; I would suggest some form of traction in the tub and a grab bar on the outside of the tub. Also maybe a hand held shower head. Other than that, the house was great; centrally located and near the shops. Would gladly stay there again.

Cute and Cozy Cottage

This little cottage was perfect for our short stay. Check in was a breeze, the house had everything we needed and more than we could have ever needed. I loved all of the personal touches and the care that was taken to make us feel like we were home. Donā€™t let the neighborhood put you off, it was quiet and very peaceful. Felt like home!

We were in town for a family funeral and considered some hotels initially but were concerned to read hot showers in the morning were hard to come by. We are SO glad we chose to stay at Chrystal's home. It was a comforting and cozy place to return to each night after spending time with extended family. It is centrally located and very close to everything in town. The kitchen is fully furnished, and the open floor plan makes it nice to cook and chat with family in the living room. The bedrooms were extremely comfortable, and we loved the shower in the bathroom. The home was very clean and the furnishings were lovely, and we appreciated the owner's support of local artists. The outdoor casita was a nice place to get some sun and journal in the afternoons. Should the need arise, we would look forward to renting in the future.

This house has been called "the cottage" by the last two owners we knew of dating back to the early 1900's. It reminds us of the children's story "The Little House." Where all the buildings and surroundings changed all around it, but it still stayed the same. It was moved from Santa Rita, NM when the mine started. Most of the Rocks on the wall were harvested from Grant County. There is one small rock that traveled from Nigeria, Africa. Our family of 6 enjoyed this home and we hope you enjoy it too.
