This three bedroom, two-bath home sits on 2.5 acres within the the Teanaway Community Forest. The property fronts the Middle Fork Teanaway River in one of the most beautiful valleys in Washington State. There is a large grass yard for kids and shady areas by the river for relaxing. In the summer, hiking and biking opportunities abound and there is river rafting and fishing on the nearby Yakima river. In the winter, the Teanaway River is popular for nordic skiing, snowshoeing, and snowmobiling.
The house has a spacious great room with a cozy wood stove. Cook gourmet meals in the well-equipped kitchen and enjoy them at the large dining room table or at picnic tables on the deck and near the river. There are three bedrooms. The master has a king bed and private full bathroom. A second bedroom with a queen bed and a third bedroom with two twins share a full bath. There’s Wi-Fi and a large collection of DVDs to watch on the TV.
The home is a relaxing respite in the winter to sit by the wood stove, to cool off in the river in the summer, or just relax and read a book on the deck.
Nearby is the charming, historic coal mining town of Roslyn (a filming location for Northern Exposure we and The Man in the High Castle) with great restaurants and shops.
The college town of Ellensburg, home to Central Washington University, is a 45 minute drive. And the popular village of Leavenworth is a little over an hour away.
There are many other interesting sights: the historic Thorp Mill, the former gold mining town of Liberty, famous for its discovery of crystalline gold in the 1870s. We recommend guests have four- wheel drive vehicles in the event of a snow storm.
