About Lagos:

You will find one of the Algarve's longest and best beaches a short walk or drive from the apartment. Beach lovers will also enjoy the more rugged appeal of Praia Dona Ana just 10 minutes drive away, and a host of other beaches and coves are in easy reach. Lagos is the perfect gateway to the unspoilt beauty of the western Algarve, and an hour's drive westward through the changing landscape of the national park takes you to some of Europe's best surfing beaches, including Praia da Bordeira.

In Lagos itself the historic Old Town with its narrow cobbled streets, lively squares, and defensive Walls is well worth repeated meanders and you will never tire of the selection of restaurants, cafes and bars available if you fancy stopping for a refreshing drink or bite to eat. About 10 minutes walk down the hill from the upto takes you to the impressive Marina where the cuisine is more international, then a pedestrian bridge across the river takes you into Lagos town and some excellent fish restaurants, then a further 5 or 10 minutes brings you to the historic centre. If you prefer not to walk there is plenty of parking along the main Avenida and a regular and cheap bus service in Lagos and its surrounds..

The modern marina and waterfront promenade offer a full range of opportunities for marine sport, sightseeing and leisure pursuits, including dolphin spotting, scuba diving, sailing, sea fishing and boat trips along the coast to view the famous sandstone cliffs and grottos. The climate is ideal for walking, cycling, tennis and golf, particularly during during the winter months. Palmares golf course in only a few kilometres down the coast from the apartment, and Boavista, Penina and Floresta only short drives away. The municipal sports centre and fitness facilities are only 10/15 minutes walk or 2/3 mins drive from the up to , as is a well-stocked and very economic Pingo Doce supermarket.

Kids will enjoy the sandy beaches, and a number of exciting Water Parks and a Sea World Park are in easy reach. There is also a Zoo on the outskirts of the town.
