Original South Bethany: This is a very simple beach house, with all amenities and gas grill, focused on ocean proximity (90 steps to be exact). Outside shower. Crow's nest with ocean views, 4 Bedrooms, each has a screen porch or deck, living/dining room, screened porch for outside dining, rec room with a pull-out sofa , TV and fridge. Sleeps 9, and a pull out sofa. 3 Full Baths. 1 block walk to York Beach shopping center-Grotto's and Rosenfelds deli, plus shopping. One block from Delaware State Park. Easy bike ride to Bethany (1.3mi), kayak access directly across street on bayside. Come back to simple beach life. Exterior deck renovations for 2025 season.

Great stay at Stacy's beach house

We had a lovely time at this beach house. Everything was perfect for our family. We enjoyed the house so much. Very clean and new appliances . Stacy was a great host , communicated with us promptly . Just a short walk to a great beach . We are looking foward to staying here again in the future.

Huge house great location

Great location short walk to the beach. We had 8 people and there was more than enough places to sleep. And there are SO many porches! (Like 4). Only complaints were that the kitchen wasn't really well stocked (no trash bags, paper towels, dish sponges) and that the owner was a bit late in getting back to me about the details which made me nervous.

great location

house was perfect size for the 5 of us and so close to beach. I do think the kitchen should be better organized and pots and pans should be replaced. We also had to wipe down all countertops and wash all silverware, dishes , glasses and anything used in kitchen as things were not cleaned and put away well. be sure to bring your own TP and paper towels as well as bathroom liquid soap( the ones there were sooo old )

It’s a great location and the house is fine

South Bethany is wonderful! This property is perfectly placed. The property manager was great. We had no need to contact her as all was at it was supposed to be. The house is older and needs a redo. Rusty baseboard heaters, most furniture was extremely worn (in need of new slipcovers) and there was a damp smell. I know you get that at the beach, but this was noticeably worse than other places I have stayed in South Bethany.

Amazing Location - few cona

This house is wonderful. It basically has five bedrooms (the rec room has a pull-out couch). Two families of four plus one Grandma had plenty of space. The location literally can not be beat. However... Guests need to know that there are no "extras" provided by the hosts. We had to bring our own sheets and towels (which is okay, but not known ahead of time), shampoo, paper towels, toilet paper, cooking spray... Which is all stuff that has just been there with the other VRBOs I've rented. Overall, great. Just takes some extra planning/packing.

Unhealthy rental

This is a place from hell. From the dangerous odor from creosote coating on poles in garage to mold and rust on air conditioner vents. Smoke alarms not functioning. Pull out sofa with stains on mattress. Deck needing help, touch it and get splinters. Bathroom faucets rusted. Have pictures of things listed. Left after one night and family vacation ruined.

MIldred--we are sorry you did not have a good experience. The property manager arrived after day one, and your party was in fact there the entire week. You tried to cancel two days before your stay and asked for a full refund--we offered you a 50% refund which you declined. You then asked for a week in 2024, at the same rate. I think you may have some unrealistic expectations--this is a simple family beach house and we work with VRBO to ensure it is up to standard--you called VRBO twice, during your stay, and twice, the issues were cleared by VRBO. We wish you all the best, in your next vacation rental--we do not chose to have your stay in our property again.

Great Location. House needs work.

My family and I had a wonderful time at the beach last week! The house is pretty cozy and a fabulous location, however the house needs a lot of work. Unfortunately, we did not feel safe going onto the upper deck with our kids (very shaky and old wood), lots of stains on carpets, and many of the blinds did not function in the house (main room especially). With that said, there were a lot of things still left (in drawers and cabinets) from previous visitors which did not feel very cleanly. Overall, would recommend for location and coziness, but offering advice to owner to renovate parts of the house to make it more appealing.

Rebecca -many thanks for your review and insights. We did some renovations this fall, including the stairs you mention, and the carpet has been replaced upstairs with hardwood. The blinds are now fully functioning and there is a new cleaner--re your comment on the drawers, etc. Stay healthy, and wishing you and your family a great 2022.

Mixed Bag

Positives: Spacious house. Very close to beach, super comfortable beds, nice porches, lots of games, books, puzzles. The beach was excellent and not terribly crowded. Negatives: The house needs some maintenance and a deep cleaning. Bathroom floors had packed dirt/mold in corners, dirty baseboards, and shower curtain liner was mildewed...yuck! Oven door appeared to be broken and oven was very dirty so we didn't attempt to use it. Coffee drops on kitchen counters near coffee pot when we arrived indicated not much care in cleaning before our arrival. Nice white cotton slipcovers on furniture were in need of a wash. Dishwasher was moldy when we arrived and we cleaned it before we used it. Overall these are things that would not require a lot of effort or money to fix but would go a long way toward making this a more desirable and pleasant property for renters.

Great Location!

The house is in a great location, very close to the beach and nice, quiet neighborhood! We also enjoyed how close it was to the state park and enjoyed walking around by the canals across the street. The home was perfect size for our family which included younger children and grandparents. The host Stacy was very responsive whenever we asked questions prior to the trip. The only negative is that the house wasn't cleaned very well prior to our arrival as there were many items left behind by the previous guests including open items in the refrigerator. Also, a lot of the items in the kitchen weren't clean and unorganized.

Owner appreciates the updates and review- all cleaning issues/Fridge addressed with cleaning crew. Covid-19 cleaning policies remain in place- with cleaning and disinfections of hard and soft surfaces after each check-out. Enjoy the rest of the summer and we hope to see you next year!!
