This breathtaking sweet escape is steps away from an amazing view overlooking panoramic view of Ohio river and downtown Cincinnati . It has been the backdrop for print ads and boudoir photo shoots because of its romantic aesthetics and serene blissful vibe.
This sanctuary is fully updated, fully-furnished & professionally designed with a private backyard, nestled on a hilltop which sits over the city and Ohio River, in the charming and chic vacation-like town of Mt. Adams!

This cozy and upscale one bedroom apartment has a private entrance and offers fully updated appliances while offering a cozy, chic ambiance - relaxing, breezy and spacious. No expense was spared in making each corner and cozy nook of this sanctuary-like space as comfortable and functional as possible.

Red Whale Rentals has six properties PLUS A VENUE SPACE all of which are steps from one another! Our Venue space “The Cottage @ Red Whale" can be viewed on our website. It can be rented during your stay for corporate meetings, intimate friend and family gatherings. bridal and baby showers, yoga retreats, etc., and is just steps from all of our properties!!

We here at Red Whale Rentals have and will welcome everyone, from the couple hoping for a romantic staycation, to large groups of 40 scattered across all of our properties! Mount Adams is an easy town to nestle down in - without ever needing to leave! All that you need is right outside your door!

Truly, you will find we have everything! From eateries, pubs, museums, and magnificent churches - to parks, a locally-owned art gallery, a dry cleaner, coffee shop and wine bar, and a friendly ice cream shop/mini market.

Mt. Adams also boasts an outdoor rock climbing area (popular with enthusiasts!), a man-made lake, the “Playhouse in the Park” theatre, an outdoor concert venue, various vantage points for incredible city and river views, and dog-friendly drinkeries! There is also continuous live music in various spots around our village.

If you decide to venture outside our neighborhood, we are a 2-3 minute drive from the Casino, a large movie theatre, the Newport Aquarium, Krohn Conservatory, and Downtown Cincinnati (which itself is the home of places such as Saks Fifth Avenue, various 5-star restaurants, etc.!)

Lastly for the organic-minded - we have Rooted Juicery, Maplewood, the Instagram-famous Please and Sleepy Bee - all downtown to enjoy!

We are moments from the highway, but to walk to downtown and enjoy the city from a new vantage point, you can take the series of “Mt. Adams Steps” that wind through and take you down.

A cozy and relaxing stay

We enjoyed our stay at this cozy and comfortable apartment. The neighborhood was quiet and quaint with a gorgeous view of the Cincinnati skyline right next door! There was a nice selection of restaurants within walking distance. The apartment was well maintained, clean and relaxing. We would definitely return!

Uplifting area

The place as well as the host was amazing. It was one of the best places I’ve ever booked and was a beautiful spot along with a gorgeous view of Cincinnati 20 ft away. The only complaint is that there was a noisy group staying upstairs of our rental (nothing that the host could control). The host was amazing with communication and directions during our stay. Red whale rentals for the win!

Had asked to check in early as I wanted to decorate the place for my wedding night and they wanted to charge me extra to do so (think that’s kinda crazy). The place was cute but was a bit difficult to find, the set up is a bit weird, but once we figured it out it was fine.

Tremendous experience

I rarely take the time to review anything, but I felt that sharing my experience with Michele and this lovely property was important. First, Michele is a gracious and incredibly responsive host. From the reservation to check in and out, Michele was on top of every communication - and in real time. A huge benefit for those of us who are busy! The property is in a fabulous location - as “The Hilll” is a special place. It’s well appointed, clean and exactly as presented. Strong recommendation to stay here if visiting this great city And thanks to Michele!

Broken dreams

We arrived for our romantic weekend. We waited until 4p to check in. We went in the gate per directions and walked down the stairs and the stair broke. It was the only way in and out. We ended up not staying at the basement apartment due to the safety of the stairs. The management was notified. Waiting on a refund. The outside furniture was not what I imagine. The view was awesome. The parking not so much.

The property was conveniently located in Mt. Adam. It was across from a beautiful church. As you exited apartment on the right there was a spectacular view of Cincinnati. The apartment was decorated beautifully. The monotone colors in the interior were perfect. The bed was comfortable and had high quality linens. It was a lovely and comfortable setting for two people. Although I did not meet the owner, she responded immediately via email. The restaurants in Mt Adams are limited, but there are many choices in Cincinnati, especially in the Over the Rhine section, all within a mile from location. The Mt. Adam Bar and Grill, Bow Tie Cafe and The Blind Lemon in Mt. Adam are within one block. It is a quiet location, close to Eden Park, the Art Museum and Conservatory. We would stay there again and highly recommend this area to visitors.

Charming manager, place, and town

Michelle, the manager, is fantastic. She goes above and beyond to make sure you have everything you need for your trip. They have a list of amenities, be sure to check it out. The unit is small but beautifully decorated, even better in person. Mount Adams is a very cute town,and you can walk downtown or to Great American Ballpark if you don’t mind steps (about 400!) Only minor watch out… if, like me, you are not as young and spry as you used to be, the space may be a little challenging. Bed and toilet are close to the wall, kitchen only has backless bar stools, and all couches are very low to the ground. Also, there is no tv or laundry. We just used our iPad, and Michelle helped us with laundry options. Overall, I would stay here again.

Charming, Romantic, Quaint

This quaint little studio apartment was a joy to stay in for our romantic weekend. It is just steps to the Mt. Adams lookout point where you can look out over the city lights and the river and bridges nearby. There is a church across the street, I loved the cross with Jesus at the front of the church by the lookout. We noticed it on our last night. The church was also lit up at night, so you could see it up on the hill when driving back from the city. Quaint restaurants within walking distance. Bowtie Café had the best breakfast burrito we had ever imagined, and we also enjoyed Mt. Adam's bar and grill for dinner. Since parking was somewhat scarce, we chose to walk to a convenient store nearby called United Dairy for necessities....they had snacks and drinks available. We truly enjoyed our stay. We also tried the Cincinnati Art museum nearby and enjoyed it much more than we'd expected...we never got half way through it...it was huge. We'd love to return. Do not expect a lot of space during your stay, as it is a studio...but it is plenty roomy enough for 2...and is decorated with charm. There is a small closet available for your luggage, and a small but very stylish restroom. The fireplace has little gas cans that you light....they last 3 hours. It actually gave a very beautiful and romantic look to the fireplace. The neighborhood felt like older buildings that had been mostly renovated without losing their charm, and we also felt safe in the neighborhood. We had a great time, and loved our stay in this beautiful little studio.
