The stay was fantastic! The cottage is large, comfortable and very well stocked with everything you might need. The only thing we missed was a highchair for our 1 year old. The lake is beautiful. Ken was very responsive. Overall a lovely long weekend!

The host keeps a close eye on things at the property and that might put some people off, but this cottage really is a gem. There is a clear, sandy area for swimming and launching kayaks, and sitting on the dock just watching fish jump was bliss. The cottage is extremely well equipped with comfortable beds, a screened porch, and lots of room for relaxing.

End of summer fun

We had an amazing time here.the home is wonderfully equipped with snything you could need. We spent the days on and in the water and nights cozy around the fire pit. The hosts are wonderful and very easy to communicate with, quick to respond and their pride in the property is evident. We will be back

Family Thanksgiving getaway

The cottage was very comfortable, cozy and clean. Way bigger than what the photos showed. It was the perfect place for our family to spend thanksgiving together. The outside has a very nice deck that we got to enjoy plus it also has a very nice place for an outside fire. The inside has an amazing fireplace that we also got to enjoy. Bedrooms are very big and comfortable. Kitchen is very roomy with the biggest kitchen table which had plenty of room for everyone!! Would definitely book this cottage again!!

Ideal place for a family

The house was exactly as advertised, my wife and I, daughter, granddaughters (13, 11) and brother-in-law stayed at the house. There was plenty of room for all of us, and for us to each have our own space. The toys (canoe, paddle board, etc, was perfect, something for all of us. My granddaughter’s when fishing for the fist time and loved it as they caught fish everyday. Ken, was very responsive from the day we booked it, to the day we left. I highly recommend the home, and plenty of sightseeing activities with a drive. We all had a great vacation.

Relax

My family had a very nice time here. It is exceptionally clean and spacious! If you are looking for a quiet beautiful place for a family reunion this is the place. I only gave 3 on description because the slide that is in every picture is not permitted for use by renters. It would have been nice to know this before they tried to use it,and then they watched the neighbor children use it.Otherwise it is an exceptional beautiful property.

This cottage was beautiful and fully equipped. Photos don't do the property justice. The lake is calm, barely any bugs, our family had a great time relaxing and fishing. However, we were constantly being monitored on the outdoor cameras by the owner. We received MULTIPLE messages and phone calls during our stay, commenting on our outdoor activities, or asking us to do tasks around the property. We were having a comversation outside, and received a text from the owner regarding the conversation we were having... We felt spied on by the owners. It was very uncomfortable. We left the property early due to this. It's really too bad, the cottage is fantastic, but we refuse to spend our vacation being watched.

Life on a lake

Great cottage, lots of room, comfortable layout with lots of space. The kitchen was fully equipped even with an air fryer. Basic cooking needs are supplied including spices as well as salt and pepper. Living area has wonderful fireplace with dry firewood. Screened in patio. Outside benefits include comfortable fire pit with wood, bbq, and a smoker for preparing your bbq meat and fish. On site there are very few mosquitoes, etc. but walking in the woods is more challenging. The lake is clean and great for swimming and fishing. The only negative is that neighborhood cottages are very close and water activity can be busy during the day, nights are quiet and beautiful.

Undisclosed Recording of Guests & Minors in Private Areas

We were horrified to learn that the host had undisclosed cameras recording and listening to us throughout the property - including private spaces where our children and family swam, sunbathed, and likely changed clothes.In VRBO messages and texts, the host admitted he was watching and listening live and also recording us, including minors, in areas where we were in bathing suits and could have been undressed while changing.These cameras were never disclosed in the listing, and the exact locations have not been disclosed. VRBO’s policy requires all surveillance devices to be clearly disclosed before booking and prohibits monitoring of areas where guests have a reasonable expectation of privacy. For us, this raises serious concerns under Nova Scotia privacy law and voyeurism protections, and we have reported it to VRBO for investigation. We also do not know whether cameras were placed inside the home. Adding to concern, the host is demanding an additional 750 for what he claims were “extra people,” based on counting guests via his surveillance cameras. We had grandma, aunts, and uncles staying at nearby cottages who occasionally visited - and the house is large enough that more than 10 people were inside at times (15 he counted) - but the booking did not prohibit visitors.We stayed here Aug 3–Aug 10, 2025. While the location is beautiful, the undisclosed monitoring and recording of us and our children in private areas made this an extremely troubling experience.

Your posting is Libelous. It has been reported to VRBO. You have posted in RETALIATION to being charged for extra guests. And for being charged an extra cleaning fee for the deplorable condition you left my cottage in. Necessitating extra cleaners to get down on their hands and knees to clean the juice off the floor from the piles of children running through the house. The cottage was trashed. You booked for 2 guests. You refused to talk to me to go over cottage details instead having your cousin communicate with me. 15 people showed up. A camper pulled up. You had a family reunion with the entire cove going through my house using its facilities, People with dogs. When my cottage is only set up for 10 And with this years worst drought overuse the well could have run dry and burnt the water pump . And we do not allow events per our VRBO description unless discussed prior to the booking. THE SECURITY CAMERA IS NOT ON THE PROPERTY IT IS ACROSS THE ROAD. IT IS THERE FOR SECURITY OF OUR PROPERTY ACROSS THE ROAD THAT HOUSES ALL OF OUR BOATS FOR OUR GUESTS. IT IS THERE TO MONITOR THE SECURITY OF CUSTOMERS VEHICLES. Plus there was a bear in the area so we monitor the area to ensure the safety of our guests. We are able to capture the back of the cottage. We saw 3 vehicles and a camper. And all the additional people. We contacted VRBO who asked us to send them the photos. They advised us to tell you to leave as you'd voided the contract by LYING about how many guest you had. But we didn't. We should have. We also have caretakers a few cottages ups who informed us that you and the entire cove were having a family reunion. Your untrue, heinous, libelous posting is in complete RETALIATION to lying about your booking.Being found out & subsequently being additionally charged.

You wake up overlooking the lake Early in the morning, you can watch the loons come in Fishing during the day you watch the Eagle flyover and fish
With the covered in deck and screened and being up high overlooking the lake, it’s so nice to watch the kids play in the water and enjoy life.
With the big pavilion, you can cook underneath no problems if it rains and at night sitting around the fire pit with all the benches and seat seats, looking up at the stars!!!
Rhodies Rest is settled in to a cove on a beautiful Sand beach
The cove is protected viol land point on both sides with two islands and rocks around them so you don’t get any Boat traffic coming through!!

Swimming is the best with the sand beach no rocks you can walk out gradually with no drop offs and it’s so safe for the kids.
With the 80 foot floating dock the kids can run and dive and jump and climb right back on the ladder and do it again at the same time with the big platform out of the end of the dock with beautiful anaconda chairs grandparents can sit there and enjoy watching their grandkids play.
Anybody can catch a fish off the dock
The covered in and screened deck you can sit in comfort and no bugs and watch everyone enjoying the lake.
It is one of the quietest lakes to kayak safely on
