Approved by Perkins Township & Erie County for use as a transient rental, "Spartan Accommodations" is housed in a 5,000 sq ft commercial building.
With an occupancy permit for a maximum of 10 guests, Spartan Accommodations is “accessible” but not according to ADA standards. If accessibility is a concern, please contact me to discuss.
Two offices were converted into bedrooms, each 12 ft x12 ft. Bedroom #1 has one queen bed and Bedroom #2 has two heavy-duty 'Twin over Double' bunk beds. Each bedroom has two doors and no windows but sunlight comes in when doors are open. Although the quilted coverlets add a pop of color, the bedrooms still look like offices. Bring your slippers, socks or Spartan sandals as the building is carpet-free.
To accommodate reservations of more than 8 guests, there are two older cots with foam mattresses for use in the common area. The cots are protected and stored in the showroom up front.
All five rear windows have coverings but the front showroom windows are tinted and DO NOT have coverings.
The full bathroom has a "ShowerAnyplace" portable marine-type shower. The shower has one fiberglass wall with a 5 inch threshold, standard temperature-controlled faucet and a 3-sided, hookless shower curtain. There are no grab bars in the shower but a portable folding shower chair is available. Large grey bath mats are provided to help keep the tile floor dry. The half bathroom has a toilet and sink. Reminder: these are commercial bathrooms and they look like commercial bathrooms.
The kitchenette has a 14.4 cf refrigerator/freezer, convection/toaster oven, microwave, coffee maker, electric kettle, 4-slice toaster, large griddle, heavy-duty single burner hot plate, pots/pans, small crock pot, utensils, glasses/mugs & an eight foot folding table for 10. The kitchenette is great for simple meals. There is very little counter & cupboard space but there is a well-worn work table. The only foods provided are coffee (reg & decaf), tea (black & green), sugar, salt & pepper and...popcorn! If you're a Spartan who must have butter on your popcorn or cream and/or artificial sweetener in your coffee, you'd better bring it :)
The entertainment area is staged with hand-me-down furniture and fixtures. There is a 40" TV with a streaming DVD player through which Netflix & Amazon Prime Video subscriptions are provided. There is no TV cable service.
There's a play area with toys & games for little & big Spartans. The yard is a large but rough and uneven.
The designated guest areas in the showroom are for work/study and storage for guest luggage, bikes, gear, etc., as well as for storage of Spartan Accommodations' cots.
Spartan Accommodations does not charge fees for extra guests, up to 8 guests. Above 8 guests, the fee is $25 per guest per night. Local lodging tax is included in the fee. Please note,
Spartan Accommodations charges a $250 Security Deposit in case of losses and/or damages.
Spartan Accommodations is located on one acre of land, with a 150 ft. cell tower. On the east side of the building, there is a water retention pond which is dry except during periods of rain or snow/ice melt.
Although some steps have been taken to “child-proof” the property, at all times, guests are responsible for their children’s health, safety, security and well-being.
Please note: Toys, games and supplies not recommended for children under age three (3) are stored in the three baskets located on the table, along the western wall & on the coffee table under the TV.
In addition to smoke and carbon monoxide detectors, there is also a natural gas detector. Should an alarm sound, please immediately leave the building and call 911. Thank you.
The building is built on a concrete slab with ground-level thresholds. Insects do find their way past Spartan Accommodations' barricades. Please help by cleaning up spills and crumbs. Also, please use the designated recycle bins. Thanks!
Outside - Security cameras are located outside of all three building entrances. Guests are welcome to park on the west side, along the building/hedge. Enter the white door with the keypad lock. Access is not permitted through the front (southern) door. To maintain 24/7/365 access for utility trucks, please do not park on the western-most asphalt lane leading to the cell tower. There is ample parking space in front of the building for vehicles with trailers and for chariots.
Inside - One security camera is directed into the fenced-in area to detect any breach of the fence and a sign is posted. Guests do not have access to the fenced-off area and the three locked closets.
Spartan Accommodations is conveniently located on a mixed residential & commercial street. Numerous stores & restaurants are within a three mile radius with one of the best pizza places right next door!
