Let your stress melt away at the B.O.B. House

The "Barn Out Back" is a 1 bed, 1 bath efficiency cabin, located poolside. Perfect for relaxing, unwinding, and unplugging. We turned what used to be our horses' barn into an adorable, rustic short-term rental. The B.O.B. house stands for the Barn Out Back, but it is dedicated to my late father, Bob. He loved to work with wood and had lots of lumber left at his home after he passed. We incorporated all of his wood to create this unique and rustic cabin.


Due to the increasing number of requests, the following is being added to the description:

The pool and property is for registered guest only. Limit of 2 adults. We do not allow children at the pool. There are no parties or events allowed at this property. Persons other than those on the rental request are not allowed on the property.

These rules strictly apply due to liability reasons.

We are ABSOLUTELY dog friendly, we Love all fur babies. However, dogs are NOT allowed in the swimming pool. Dogs may roam the property and swim in the pond....but guests that violate this policy and allow dogs in the pool will be asked to leave the premises with no refund. There is no safe entry or exit for dogs at the pool. This places the dogs at risk and also increases the risk of damage to the liner of the pool.

Great Getaway Space in Lakeland!

My travel buddy, standard poodle Ava, and I enjoyed our repeat stay at the BOB house owned by the LaCroixā€™s. Itā€™s perfectly located near our family members and is a great and safe retreat when visiting the Memphis area. I strongly recommend it!

Peaceful Setting with Outstanding Hospitality

Our stay for two adults and two small dogs visiting the area for a wedding was outstanding. The BOB house was clean and accommodating and the surroundings are peaceful and beautiful. Jeff and Colleen could not have been more accommodating, kind, and attentive. We enjoyed our stay tremendously! Highly recommend!

Great Little Getaway

Our stay at The BOB House was great. Colleen and Jeff were very friendly. It was very peaceful and relaxing. We really enjoyed the pool with the extra hot temperatures. Loved sitting in the little porch looked out at the pool and beautiful rose bushes. Just what we were looking for on our vacation. We would definitely stay here again.

The BOB

We really enjoyed our stay at the BOB. Colleen was in contact with us everyday and gave us some great recommendations on what to do while in Memphis. She was very hospitable and we enjoyed having a few drinks by the pool with her. We felt very safe and comfortable on the property. We would stay there again if we ever come back to Memphis!

BOB is the best

I knew from the moment I saw BOB on VRBO, that this was the perfect place for us and BOB lived up to my expectations and even exceeded them. Jeff and Colleen are amazing hosts, you couldn't ask for better. Their property is absolutely beautiful and peaceful, making it a most relaxing weekend. The bed is so comfortable. I highly recommend BOB!

My husband and I and our two Springer Spaniels rented the BOB for a week. There was enough room for us and two large kennels. The property is beautiful. We loved waking up to the sound of birds in the morning and no traffic. BOB was very clean, quaint and private. We were greeted by their property manager, Michelle, who we found to be very nice and helpful. The description and pictures on VRBO were exactly as the property appears. We would definitely stay here again.

Our holiday experience at the BOB was wonderful, we experienced some Mother Nature fun..from snow to freezing temperatures and every step of our journey the owners Jeff & Colleen checked in on us and made sure we were comfortable. A Great Getaway !!! Convenient to Everything, but still feels like your in the middle of nowhere!

We absolutely loved ā€œThe Bob Houseā€ it was super cozy and inviting! Itā€™s literally everything you need!!! We ended up renting this cabin because we were traveling for Thanksgiving, and we couldnā€™t get reservations for Dexter our dog at our local kennel. So this was the perfect option!!! Colleen the owner even left Doggie Treats for Dexter!!! He absolutely loved them! The owners go over and beyond accommodating and hosting you while your their! The best part is this little cabin is absolutely close to everything, but totally feels like youā€™re in the middle of nowhere . I have to say that having this awesome cabin to come back to each evening after Visiting with family each day was absolutely amazing!!! We were able to unwind, relax and rejuvenate for the next day!!! I seriously canā€™t say enough good things about this awesome rental! We will definitely be renting again ā€˜no

A peaceful retreat!

The BOB house is as perfect in person as it seems in its listing. Colleen and Jeff have created a comfortable and welcoming space with everything you need to rest and relax. When a pipe burst in my house, I needed a place for my 2 pups and me to stay. Jeff, Colleen, and BOB provided so much more than just a place to stay - compassion, comfort, conversation, convenience, and safety to name a few of those things. If you are thinking this looks like a wonderful place for you to stay, you are right!

As I told Collen and Jeff, this property is an absolute gem! They were helpful as I booked and during my stay. My time at Bob's was everything I needed and more for a peaceful get away. Mini Honeymoon

Getting away from the hustle of daily life and just enjoying us. The BOB house was exactly it!!! Tranquil, peaceful with beautiful surroundings. Colleen was so hospitable, even offering us some of her homemade stew when arriving late our first night in the dark. Centrally located to the airport, Graceland and South Wind. Pool was a plus in the warm weather, comfy bed, our own tiny house for four nights was perfect!

Jeff is retired and I am a nurse. We love to travel, spend time outdoors, and most recently, we have really enjoyed hosting guests to our 2 rental properties. We have one long term rental, and the BOB House, which is a perfect option for 1 or 2 guests looking to disconnect and relax for a short period of time.

The BOB House is very special to me, as it is named in honor of my late father. Also stands for the "Barn Out Back" as it was the home for our horses for many years. We used the wood my father had left in his shop to create this beautiful rustic cabin. The BOB House is located near the pool, and offers a very secluded and private feel. You really feel like you are in the country when you are here, but you are very close to everything you would possibly need. If you are needing two bedrooms, please check out Chateau LaCroix, which is our other property.
