Newly reopened for Summer 2026 "Ard Beag" sits in lovely grounds with private garden among some of Scotland's most spectacular scenery and commands wonderful views across the surrounding mountains. With ample parking and only a short walk to the village, the house ensures that guests will enjoy the feeling of a remote setting while being within walking distance of local amenities and services.

The space
The house is cosy, comfortable, warm and welcoming. Many guests have commented upon the house feeling like a "home from home" and that it is "very well equipped".

The house has 2 bedrooms (1 with king size bed and 1 with 2 singles), both with views across the landscaped garden to the mountains beyond. Both have fitted wardrobes making the place perfectly suited to family holidays or small friendship groups looking for a peaceful retreat.

The house has very large reception rooms which include large living room with picture window out to the mountains; large, modern kitchen diner with table and chairs with modern appliances and lots of storage space.

The adjoining reading room/ study with comfortable furniture and lovely views towards the surrounding countryside ensures guests are always able to enjoy the beautiful setting, whatever the weather. The room also includes a dedicated workspace for those working remotely or needing a comfortable place to research their trip.

The house also benefits from a covered veranda which too looks out towards the surrounding mountains - a wonderful spot to sit for breakfast in the morning sun or likewise to enjoy a glass of wine as the sun goes down in the evening.

Fantastic property in a fantastic location!

Thank you Kyle for letting us rent your property for a much needed few days break! The property was fantastic, very spacious, very clean and in a great location to explore various parts of the Highlands! Being a short 10/15 minute walk to the bars, restaurants and shops in Fort Augustus was terrific too. At the end of busy days, the property was a great place to unwind and relax! Kyle was very helpful in all aspects of handling our booking. Thanks again and we’d love to book this property again on any future trips to the Highlands!!!

Short walk to Fort Augustus

The property was well situated for a short walk into Fort Augustus, the main road from the property to the village is quite busy and roads are narrow, worth being aware of. The property owner provided fantastic information about the property and local attractions/ammmenities. The perfect location for Highland exploration.

fantastic family stay

Had a wonderfull time,everything was just spot on,can not find any fault at all,communication with kyle and nick were very helpfull and fast response by them,already missing the place soo much .The home is well equiped and cosy family house, my kids and husband loved it and we will definetley recommend to family and friends.I would say the pics dont do any justice to the house once u see u would never wana leave the place.will visit again in future.Everything from pots and pans to spoons etc provided. Thankyou so much to the owners for providing absolutley everything.

Had a great week at this property… everything was perfect. A large property with everything you need for a great holiday. We had my elderly parents and they loved it as well. Easy walk into centre of town . Great location for visiting loads of places. Will definitely go back .. Host very helpful . Lesley

Good base for exploring the Highlands

We had a lovely stay at Kyle's property in Fort Augustus. The location was great for exploring the Highlands, as we were able to cover Loch Ness, Glen Affric, Glenfinnan and much more from there. It is within easy reach of Fort Augustus, with shops and restaurants. The property was clean, spacious and comfortable. Would recommend to anyone looking to explore the Highlands.

Perfect base for visiting Loch Ness

Lovely comfortable, well equipped and spacious property, very helpful owner, ideal location. Short walk to nice village. Can recommend Lovat restaurant for a special evening meal.

Beautiful

Having tea and breakfast on the porch every morning was amazing. Great space with clean rooms, and a nice chance for four adults to spread out a bit. Location is great, the town is adorable, and it was easy to get to other places like Skye and Inverness from there.

Good location, nice property.

Lovely property with great views. Perfect for our hiking trip. There is a slight smell of the property possibly having been smoked in previously but it’s not that bad. Facilities are good, showers, bath etc all have good water pressure. Good well equipped kitchen. Lovely veranda area to chill out on after a long day’s hiking. Would definitely stay again.

Spacious Home, Perfect Location in the Highlands!

This was our 4th stop on a 3 week tour of Ireland and the UK in March of 2016. Out of all the homes we stayed at this was by far the most spacious and modern. We had 4 adults and 1 child with us and this house gave us plenty of room to move around. The rooms were very comfortable! One of our favorite features was the enclosed front porch/sun-room. We spent most mornings sitting in the sun-room drinking coffee/tea and watching the fog on the hills. The landscape reminded me a lot of home and after being away for 3 weeks it was a welcome sight. The location of Fort Augustus was perfect for our sightseeing of the Highlands. Highly recommended stops near by - Urquhart Castle & Loch Ness, Clava Cairns, Culloden Battlefield, Eilean Donan Castle, Glen Shiel, Glen Coe and the Glenfinnan monument. The home was very clean (minus a glass with dried up liquor and a lime at the bottom left in the kitchen; we did come in off season) and stocked with all the utensils we'd need. There is a small grocery store not far away; Fort Augustus was in walking distance and a very quiet, cozy town. If we ever get the chance to go back to Scotland we would love to stay here again!

Very spacious, well equipped property. Very quiet location and a good base for exploring.

A very relaxing stay at the end of August and weather was kind. Did some sight seeing and went on Rib excursion to see Urquhart Castle which was amazing. Go to the village of Dores which has stunning views from the shore right up Loch Ness and you can have a stop in the Village Inn next to the shore. Would recommend this property to anyone looking for a peaceful retreat.

Nous avons passé un excellent séjour, la location correspondait parfaitement à la description mise sur le site (équipements, propreté...) et étant 6 personnes (2 adultes, 3 ados et 1 enfant) nous avons bien pu profiter de tout l'espace mis à notre disposition. De plus, les informations très détaillées fournies par le propriétaire ainsi que son aide par téléphone nous ont été d'une très grande utilité. Je recommande sans réserves cette location

Lovely home from home, great base for exploring the highlands

We spent a week in July at Ard Beag - myself, my husband and our 3 daughters (aged 6, 4 and 1). The house is in a lovely location and is spacious and very well equipped, including a travel cot and a high chair for the wee one, as well as lots of dvds, games and cds. It's an easy walk into the centre of Fort Augustus, which is a lovely little town with plenty of options for eating out. It's also in a great location for exploring further afield - we visited Urquhart Castle, did lots of cycling in various locations and took a trip to Landmark Adventure Park. Kids were very sad to be heading home! I would thoroughly recommend.

Eine sehr empfehlenswerte Unterkunft! Am Rande von Fort Augustus, man erreicht das Zentrum zu Fuß in etwa 10 Minuten. Die Schlafzimmer sind eher klein, bieten aber sehr viel Stauraum. Schönes Wohnzimmer mit Panoramafenster, gut ausgestattete Küche mit großem Esstisch, und ein großes Bad. Kann ich bedenkenlos für jeden empfehlen'

Just home from a 5 night stay in this beautiful home. Fantastic setting in Fort Augustus. This property has all of the home from home comforts you want in a holiday property. Lovely large lounge with stunning views. Fully equipped and modern kitchen. Comfortable beds that ensure a sound sleep every night. Cannot recommend this holiday home enough. Fantastic!

Beautiful 5 * property with stunning views.

Property is gorgeous, immaculate and spacious and in a stunning location. Well equipped kitchen with plenty of room for a large group to cook and eat. Log burning fire in sitting room was a real treat on cold winter nights and view from living room window was stunning. Lots to see and do in local area. Loved long walks along the canal and live Scottish music sessions in local pubs. Would thoroughly recommend,

Fantastic !!!!

The bungalow was stocked to the hilt with everything you could possibly need or want for your holiday. Everything was to the highest standard and communication with the owners was a delight. I would go as far to say it was the best holiday property we have stayed in. Thanks for a fantastic holiday. Oh one last thing RENT IT NOW IT'S WORTH EVERY PENNY!!!!!!!!!!!!!.

Wonderful cottage and location-best holiday ever!

I spent the 2nd week in October at Ard Beg with my family 2 teenagers, a 3 year old and a 9 year old, the house was perfect to suit our varied needs as there is 2 public rooms & a fantastic fully equipped kitchen & a separate huge utility room. The bedrooms were comfortable and spacious. The en-suite and big bathroom, walk-in shower was perfect to assist us getting out early for the beautiful walks and surroundings that Fort Agustus has to offer.  We had fantastic weather so we only needed the heating on for an hour every morning, the house is so modern and wind type that this was more than enough. We used the woodburner at night more for the novelty rather than requiring more heat.The views from the front room are stunning and every time my grandson loked out he saw varying wild life at every turn. We took advantage and fully explored Skye, Annoch Mor, Cambustarach & Morar and Inverness (45 minutes away) the most fantastic swim centre with wave pool & flumes. At 1st I thought a week in the Highlands might be too long for the family but no this was a holiday full of comfort, adventure, everything & more was there at Ard Beg and the village itself is fascinating with the loch & the canal. The local produce was superb both at the garage & butcher & the village eateries. I have booked up for Spring as the kids all want to return asap. I would fully recommend this beautiful, modern yet fuill of character holiday home.
