Mountain Rim Retreat - Miles of Private Hiking Trails - Endless Views

Imagine waking up with views to the ocean atop a private mountain retreat and heading out to explore 52 acres of private hiking trails. Look out on the private waterfall lagoon pool and sip coffee among acres of fruit and palm trees. Or enjoy the attached indoor bouldering/yoga room before you start your day. In the evenings enjoy amazing sunsets while relaxing by the gas fire pit. This studio (King Bed) plus loft (single bed) private guest suite has a kitchenette, bathroom & yoga retreat with it's own private entrance. This guest house sleeps up to 4 guests (King bed sleeps 2, single bed in loft sleeps 1 and is only accessible through climbing wall; a queen size air bed can also be set up in the yoga room by request).

This is a secluded property, yet just 15 minutes off the freeway, less than a 25 minute car ride to Temecula Valley Wine Country and area casinos (Pala and Pechanga), a 30 minute ride to the San Diego Safari Park and 10 minutes to restaurants and shops. There are 10 steps to the front door of the guest house. Once in, there are 3 steps to access the main floor where the king bed is located. The yoga and boulder room is off of the main floor and has over 200 rock holds and multiple holds in the ceiling where ropes, swings and yoga silks are located. The yoga room has a large soft carpeted area that could be used to sleep several children. The single bed in the loft is accessed by the climbing holds (step ladder can also be used - but is a bit less fun!). The 46 inch flat screen TV swivels and can be viewed from the king sized bed and loft, or from the sitting area and has Netflix and Amazon Prime movies. The kitchenette has a fridge and freezer, microwave, toaster oven, insta-hot (water comes out boiling- great for french pressed coffee and tea), and all the kitchen utensils need to make a meal. The large closet has plenty of storage with both shelves and hanging space. The bathroom has a rain head shower head in the shower/tub. Views from the guest house are the best around and on a clear day the ocean glows on the horizon.

The property is absolutely beautiful. The guest house was super clean and perfect for us and our teen girls. The views make you feel like you are looking over Tuscany. The hosts had great communication and gave us a ton of privacy.

Amazing view, attentive host

Mike was very attentive to our needs, quick to respond to any messages, and checked in periodically to be sure we were enjoying our stay. The view was amazing and the amenities were both fun and relaxing , I would recommend staying here to anyone with or without kids.

The View Alone is Worth the Price of Admission!

This place is a little slice of paradise. Amazing views and endless hiking trails. The pool , yoga room, and outdoor furniture is simply icing on the cake! Excellent place and a welcoming host. I will definitely be going back regularly.

My family had such an amazing experience here. The property is gorgeous, clean, and has so much character! The views are stunning and the walking trails were so fun to explore. Nothing short of amazing

Fantastic location, clean, phenomenal views and comfortable accommodations. Husband and I stayed while in town for a weekend getaway following a work trip. So glad that we found this gem. Didn’t get to explore the trails as much as we would have liked but that leaves something for the next time. Great host and communication. Looking forward to staying again.

Little Oasis

This property is a little oasis up in the hills. It was very clean and well decorated. The pool and deck provides a beautiful view. Mike is very attentive and the nicest guy. He is very responsive and was so kind to let me borrow his wife’s curling iron since I forgot mine. I highly recommend staying here if you are in the area.

Wine weekend

Such an amazing weekend! An old friend and myself needed to getaway for a few days and unwind. This was everything we could have asked for and more! Working Trip

Very nice property and great views to the west. Mike our host was very responsive to any questions and needs. Stayed with a couple of other buddies and basically just enjoyed the pool and barbecue area because we were to exhausted to do anything else from 2 days of wine bottling for Faulkner Winery in Temecula. Looking forward to sharing again in future with my wife only for quiet and relaxing getaway.

Spectacular gem of a place

Couldn’t have been happier with this surprisingly beautiful place - even better than the photos and descriptions. The views are stunning, the outdoor area (pools, hammocks, deck chairs, etc) are relaxing and spa-like. And we loved all the mountain trails. And the indoor yoga studio! Outstanding Veiws!

We will definitely be back to stay at this location and telling all my friends and family about it! Mike was excellent at communicating, very friendly, and gracious. The room was immaculate and I loved the small kitchenette! The microwave and fridge were def a plus. The sunset view at night by the pool was phenomenal! Great for kids and nature lovers

This place and the surrounding area is gorgeous. My daughter (8 yrs) could barely tear herself away from the amazing rock climbing room for long enough to eat; a really great amenity for moms who want to relax while their child is occupied and burning some energy off. Close enough to drive into Temecula if you want and far enough from everything to feel like you are really getting away. We had a great time and the owners were very helpful and nice. Super sweet welcome basket with trail mix for a hike. Will definitely be back.

Fill up your senses

The pictures tell most of the story, but not all. This charming guest house offers views for tens of miles, and if you hike up to the peak behind the house, you can see the Pacific. The hike out from the outdoor living space is so cool, The multi level pools the fall from the top to the main pool are so peaceful and serene. The views from the huge outdoor patio area are just amazing. Watching the sunset followed by stargazing on lounges filled up our senses in the best way. Our host Mike was top shelf and was very accommodating. If you’re looking for a few nights away from the bustle and you want to get your hike o.n, this is your spot.

Amazing getaway!

My husband, son, and I had a rehearsal dinner and wedding to attend in Temecula and decided to find a vacation rental instead of staying at the hotel. We live less than an hour from Temecula but thought we could just make it a mini vacation. We were so pleased with this place! My son loved the loft bed and yoga and climbing walls. We all loved the amazing pool with the smaller pools above it! I am an avid trail runner and hiker and was so impressed with the quality and beauty of the trails on the property! It turned our weekend into a wonderful vacation. We will definitely return! The owners were also very nice and incredibly accommodating! Thank you!

Great Weekend Get Away

My wife and I had a great stay at Mountain Rim Retreat. Amazing property with awesome views. Had a great time mountain biking with Mike on the first day of our stay and then we had a great hike on day 2. If you are into nature and want to stay somewhere special this is a great place.
