Closer to Grayson even though physical address is Olive Hill. Is 11 miles from Grayson at Grayson Lake State Park on Rt 7 South. Mapquest to and from Grayson instead of Olive Hill to avoid very crooked roads (192 Davis Drive off 986).
Our Lake House is a 2-story, split level country home. It has 6 bedrooms with 8 comfy beds, 3 rollaway beds, 1 pull out soda and 4 full bathrooms. Full kitchen. Bring food and toiletries and you are ready to stay! Anything else you may need is provided!
Semi-secluded with a huge yard with bunk house, fairy garden, campfire, saddle swings, creek fun, etc.
Swimming under the cliffs within walking distance at end of holler.
Step back in time with vintage/antique decor throughout the home. Located less than 1 mile from all that Grayson Lake State Park has to offer - boating, fishing, swimming, golfing, kayaking, playgrounds, etc.
We offer pre-paid onsite CATERING!
We offer pre-paid onsite SPA SERVICES through Walking on Sunshine Wellness Spa & Shoppe (massage, facials, reflexology, ionic foot detoxing, body waxing, ear candling, etc.)!

The place was perfect for our group! Large enough space for 14 people & a great lawn for yard games. The swimming spot within walking distance was amazing. Would definitely return.

Amazing Stay!

My friends and I were in town for a music festival. The host Pam and her husband were extremely friendly and helpful. From the moment we booked our stay, they were in communication with us, providing us info about Olive Hill, and answering questions. The house is very big and it was perfect for the 5 of us.

UNIQUE SPOT

Lots of room. Interesting decor. Kids loved playing in the creek behind the house. 30 minutes from Carter Caves. Very clean. High winds took out the electric during our stay. Host offered a generator, but with babies, we decided we should leave. We would stay again.

Homey large place in the country next to a creek

Overall, our stay in this place was pleasant and our group said that they would put it in the category of places they would stay again. It does house a large group and worked well for us after we made some adjustments to make the rooms more private. The owners were attentive and kind. We were staying there after the death of my father. We needed a space that would house at least 13 people and a place we could have a small memorial service. We also had 3 people who needed to work online for a couple of days and so we needed solid internet. It mostly met these needs and the hosts were easy going, considering we had a few small children and the house is filled with antiques and knick-knacks. The owners insisted that the children could play with everything and they were not worried about things getting broken. This was a blessing to us. They knew we would do our best to make sure the kids were respectful of the property. Grayson was about 15 minutes away if I recall right. The place was fun and beautiful and we are thankful to have stayed there. Here is what you may need to know that the listing does not make clear. There is a bedroom in the large living room, with no way to make it private. There is a bedroom next to the dining room with no door between the dining room and the bedroom. It also has a large opening that may have been windows to a porch at some point? There was also a door to the outside in that bedroom. The bedroom next to the kitchen also does not have a door. To make the last two bedrooms more private, we were able to move some spring rod curtain rods from one of the closets and put them in the doorways for the bedrooms and hung a sheet over the large opening in the dining room. The internet was not fully reliable, but we were able to use it for most of what we needed as long as people were not watching TV at the same time. We were able to host the memorial service outside with our internet being mostly okay.

Beautiful location. Convenient to gorgeous Grayson Lake.

Very comfortable. Loved all the couches. I spent much of my time in the kitchen cooking for the family. No cookie sheets, one casserole pan, one crockpot, limited pots and pans. Handheld can openers did not work very well. All drinking glasses were stemware style, the kids had difficulty with that. Homeowners were fabulous in every way. We would defiantly stay again and would recommend to family and friends.

Family Thanksgiving get away!

The owner had been so helpful in allowing me to tour the property prior to renting it, which helped a great deal since I was cooking for extended family. She also gave helpful tips about different hikes we could take. They also provided fire wood for us to be able to have a wiener roast...and the wiener poles were provided as well.. I don't think we've ever stayed somewhere where the hostess was more helpful....like they really wanted us to enjoy staying there....and all of us did!!

Great Eastern KY. Getaway!

This is a great property tucked away in the hills of EKY and real close to beautiful Grayson Lake and the “grotto” water fall. We had 3 families with 15 people and had plenty room for everyone. The owners are great to partner with and I have no complaints! Thanks to Pam and her husband for a great experience. (Husband is ROTC instructer if you like to support our Veterans!)

4th of July family getaway

Right from the get go Pamela was amazing! Getting the house and organizing the trip was easy thanks to her quick communication and friendliness. The house itself was very large and worked great for our family. The only issue we had was the wifi was not very good. We couldn’t get service but usually our iPhones can call and text via wifi, however, there was almost no wifi service to be found. We were also very excited about the close proximity to the water, it was easy to get our kayaks from the cabin to the put in spot. I did think we were going to be able to take the kids swimming right around the house but the walk to the swimming spot in the pictures was MUCH more difficult to get to, so we decided it wouldn’t be safe without phone service. We opted to have breakfast catered each morning and it worked out great with the food being prepared and delivered to us! Plus the prices were hard to beat! Overall I would book this again thanks to the friendliness and comfort provided. I would just be prepared to unplug and drive to the water.
