Shore Thing Cape Charles (formerly known as Purple Daze on HGTVā€™s Beachfront Bargain Hunt S26 E12) is a beautiful beach house in the gated community of Kings Bay. Only one short block away from a small private beach and a quick walk to the Oyster Farm Seafood Eatery! Ride your bike or take a golf cart less than a mile away into historic downtown Cape Charles to enjoy the public beach, free fishing pier, and the shops and restaurants along Mason Avenue.

This beach house boasts an updated kitchen with brand-new stainless steel appliances including a gas range! The 1st-floor master suite has a king bed and a large bathroom with a walk-in shower and a large tub. The 2nd-floor rooms include a queen bedroom with a balcony, a bedroom with two twins and a balcony, a double bunk-bed room, and a jack-and-jill bathroom. There is also a 3rd-floor loft with a wet bar, fridge, and TV- itā€™s one of our favorite places to watch the breathtaking sunsets.
*The Ring doorbell camera is installed on the front of the house for the security of the property only.

Everything you need will be provided: bed sheets, bath towels, beach towels (5), a beach cart, beach chairs (8), and beach toys; a fully stocked kitchen; high-speed internet; 4 TVs with Amazon Fire Sticks. We have Netflix, Amazon Prime, Hulu, and Disney for your use, but do not have cable or dish TV.

For your outdoor adventures, we provide our guests with two adult beach cruisers, two single-person kayaks, and a paddle board. *Signed waiver required*

Cape Charles is golf cart friendly so RESERVE YOUR GOLF CART EARLY when booking your reservation. Bay Creek is also a short drive where you can enjoy a 2-mile-long private beach, an outdoor pool (open from Memorial Day through Labor Day), and tennis courts.

The house was beautiful, in excellent condition, and in a great location. Kelly was easy to get a hold of and very responsive to any questions I had. We had a wonderful family trip for the long Thanksgiving weekend.

Great location. Owners are excellent to work with. Only 1 complaint. No crab claw crackersā€¦ LOL I would bring extra bath towels next time. Would definitely stay here again.

Well equipped. The upper room was a nice nook for kids. We enjoyed the convenient walking distance to downtown and ice cream. The calm traffic made for low stress runs exploring the area.

Lovely getaway to Cape Charles

The house had everything we could need. It was bright, well furnished and the porch was a delight to sit in. We took the beach chairs and headed around the corner to sit on the beach in the late afternoon--perfect!

Great spot for our spring break mini trip!

The house was well-positioned (to beach and downtown), and well-appointed! We enjoyed being right by the bay and a short golf cart ride to downtown. The access to bicycles and kayaks was an added bonus! Weā€™d recommend and hope to return!

Everything you could ever need at the beach!

Amazing house only 1.5 blocks from the beach. This house had literally everything you could need from beach chairs, floats, kids toys, to first aid kits. We will definitely be staying here again!

Great space!

The house is beautiful and served our family of 7 well. Doorways and common spaces were roomy so we were easily able to maneuver a wheelchair around the house. Super close to the beach access which was very private - the whole time we stayed we only had one time where we went to the beach and one other family was there. Close to the Main Street and really great restaurants. The shower floor in the first floor bathroom was a bit slippery but other than that the house was clean, well furnished, and met all our needs!

Wonderful experience

The hosts' instructions and communication were clear, prompt, friendly, and helpful. House is beautiful, spacious and really well equipped. Great location, close to town and beaches. Was helpful that we rented a golf cart to move about town and take beach gear back and forth. We had a wonderful stay and would love to return in future. Great Location and Comfy

The house was located in a gated community with a speed limit of 18 mph. Almost every morning began with a bike ride with plenty of bicycles in the garage. We brought our granddaughterā€™s bike. Our son enjoyed using the Paddle board and Kayak. We all enjoyed the floats and pool noodles, having access to 3 beaches, community pool, and Pickleball court even though I ended up not playing šŸ˜˜. The house is a block and a half from a small private beach where we watched the sunset almost every evening except one when it rained, but we were given a view of beautiful rainbow from the back of the house. The house was just the right size for our family and had everything we needed and then some! The owner always responded expeditiously to my questions before our booking and afterwards. During our stay, we had an issue with the bedside electrical outlets not working in one of the bedrooms which she quickly had repaired and around our schedule. We loved the town of Cape Charles! Our first time there. Everyone was so friendly and welcoming! Parking was free and always available near the public beach and the town. It is a golf cart community which we love! We reserved one as soon as we booked our house; the owner provided the businesses and contact information. Highly recommend you rent one! We hope to return again!

Fun Family Beach week

The owners were extremely easy to work with and answered all my questions very promptly! The kitchen is well-stocked. The furniture is beach basic, but very functional. The upstairs carpeting could use a cleaning, but overall, it was a nice property and a good location!
