Beautiful Wintergreen Retreat 5 min from the slopes

Come spend your vacation in one of the best properties new to the Wintergreen market, conveniently located in the resort and close to all the resort amenities! This is beautiful and cozy 4 BR plus Loft area with extra bed, 3 full bathrooms home. It has fully equipped and well stocked kitchen. All brand new bedrooms furniture, mattresses, bedding, etc. Enjoy an amazing 3 story deck on each floor. Spacious parking that can get up 5 cars. Enjoy the day on the slopes or watch your favorite movie/TV show on one of the 6 smart TVs with internet/cable or video game. We just added a combo pool/air hockey/ tennis table in the basement floor. You relax and enjoy one of the two fireplaces, first one is in the living room/ kitchen eating area (firewood provided) and the second one is at the lower level. Massive wrap-around multi-level decks with outdoor furniture and gas grill (propane tank supplied)!
The house is nested 5 min from the slopes, and 2 min from all the hiking trails in the Wintergreen Resort.

Amazing weekend

Perfect summer getaway location

Great location with plenty of space

On the wintergreen resort, within minutes of restaurants on top of the mountain. Georgeous views driving anyway from the property. Close to waterfall hike, and other near-by hikes. Plenty of space in the house.

Just Right...

The house was perfect for our family. It wasn't too big or too small or too pristine or too primitive... It was "just right." The patios were awesome and our children "pitched a tent" and slept outside one night and loved it. We loved it because they were on the porch! We will definitely stay there again.

Unexpected surprises

The home is beautiful,a bit dated. The area is absolutely beautiful! There is no AC so not being able to open some of the windows was unfortunate. The coffee pot filter had not been cleaned in a very long time. It had rock hard, molded used grounds in it. The listing said it was wheelchair accessible and it was but one would think that would mean grab bars in the first floor bathroom. The book with the instructions said take the trash to the dumpster by the aquatic center which turned into a scavenger hunt for the dumpster. We finally found one but not sure if it was the right one.

Nice property. Communication with manager not as good as expected

We enjoyed our stay at this place. It is very quiet and isolated from the world. The owner forgot to send me the check-in instructions and we had to wait for more than one hour in front of the property until VRBO was able to get a hold on him. We also had a problem with checking out, as the property had been rented for our departure day and the people who had rented it had been promised that the property was going to be vacant for three days between our departure and their arrival. We found this out via the neighbors, who came to talk to us about that one day before our departure. It was their family the ones who were renting the place after us. We could not use the resort swimming pool because regulations that required for the owner to make a reservation for us for a given day and time slot (most days were already taken). We understood that was a new rule due to covid19 and were fine with not going to the pool (the one assigned to the property is rather small). The property was clean and very well equipped. The cleaners forgot to empty the washer of the load they probably had made just before our arrival. Offerings on the resort market are very limited so do not forget to get as much food as you can unless you want to drive for 20 minutes to the next village or even longer to Waynesboro. Customers were asked to wear masks in the resort minimarket. But around the pool and other common areas using masks were not mandatory and many people did not wear them. In sum, we enjoyed our stay in this place because it offered what we were looking for: a big and clean place to escape from the city heat within driving distance.

Needs to be maintained better

Glass door was severely broken into crystals held in place by tape. Numerous bugs and even tics in house. No AC with temps in high 90 s. Will never stay there again

Great Getaway

My family and I enjoyed cooking, eating, hiking, playing games and watching movies! The house was clean and spacious. Got a nice fire going upstairs as well. Kitchen was pretty well stocked. Remember to byo paper towels, toilet paper and toiletries- no shampoo. Would definitely come back!

Restful Respite

We enjoyed the fireplace in the evenings after a day on the slopes. We also easily cooked meals for family dinner. The lower level provided great playing options for the kids. Bedrooms were all very comfortable.

Wonderful winter sunrise view

What a lovely surprise! The property description and the reviews we read beforehand neglected to mention one of the best aspects of this comfortable and well-equipped home: a gorgeous sunrise view. Three floors of windows and two decks offer beautiful views of sunrise color over rippling layers of blue mountains! In winter, with no leaves to obscure the distant mountains, the view was stunning. It might be less so when all the trees in this woodsy location are green and full, but I’m sure this home would offer great lodging in any season. Other niceties included a well-stocked kitchen, plenty of linens, and abundant firewood. Owner responded promptly to questions — even on Christmas Day! — and provided a helpful sheet with clear check-in and check-out details. We loved Wintergreen and found this home to be the perfect spot to enjoy Christmas.

Lovely Getaway

This house is a great gathering place for family! The location and view are both excellent. If you don’t have 4-wheel drive, be careful parking at the bottom the steep driveway in the snow; just park on the street to avoid difficulty. I do wish the owner had mentioned that one of the sliding glass doors on the main floor had been broken (shattered/taped). We had a toddler with us, so we had to block that whole area off with benches to avoid an accident. Overall, we enjoyed our stay.

Great mountain getaway

Loved the location and the layout of the house. All 12 people fit perfectly. Fires in the fireplace set the mood for every conversation, meal, and game. Kitchen was well stocked.. we even used the waffle iron!
