Your Ski Getaway / Ski season Wintergreen 5-Bedroom Mountain Ski Home

The area is perfect for comfortable gatherings and relaxation. The 1st floor features a large and spacious kitchen, dining and family room area with an incredible fireplace. Both the dining room and the great room are spacious with vaulted ceilings ideal for family gatherings. Downstairs features a fully loaded open kitchen with wet bar and live edge dining bar that seats 3. The dining room table seats up to 10. There are 2 master bedrooms downstairs (2 Kings), and a 3rd bedroom with a twin bed, and full/twin bunk, and full hall bath. Upstairs features one newly added King bedroom and 1 Queen room with twin bunks, 1 full hall bath and loft with an office/puzzle/game playing area ideal for children or adults. Please note that I am having difficulty with the website today to correct the bedroom description section to show 3 King beds. I will update this as soon as it starts working properly.

Create your own home-cooked meals in our fully equipped kitchen (we love to cook, we know what you need in a kitchen for great meals) or enjoy eating out at your choice of fine restaurants, breweries and wineries on top of the mountain or in the valley.

Large flat lot on top of Black Rock Mountain. Great hiking trails just a short walk away. Features large screened in porch with horseshoe pit on lot. Incredible views at Black Rock Park.


Golf Amenities: Wintergreen has a 27-hole course at Stoney Point, bottom of the mountain.

Thoroughly enjoyed our 7 day stay! Home is lovely with a great layout. Great views, hiking trails and a park just a few minutes away. Quick trip to the lodge and skiing areas. Plenty of parking for our 5 vehicles (flat too). Our group included ages from 8 months to 76 years old and the property accommodated us all. There was no highchair when we arrived, and the owner provided a brand new one the next day. Some of the furniture, linens and small appliances showed signs of wear but everything was functional when we arrived. My almost six year old granddaughter asked me how I find such great homes to stay in!

Wintergreen Family Weekend

We enjoyed a long weekend and stay at Wintergreen during Presidents Day weekend. The house was amazing and there was plenty of room for our family. The house is in a great location close to skiing, hiking and family walks. Watching the sunrise in the morning from the living room was beautiful. We thoroughly enjoyed the house and Wintergreen.

Quick Weekend Getaway

We had a large group consisting of six adults and six children staying at the home. The house is extremely spacious and is in a great location. Check-in was easy and the kitchen had everything that we needed to cook meals. The property owners were very responsive and accommodating. However, all bedding should be replaced and the bathrooms needed a bit more cleaning. Overall, we enjoyed our time and our kids were super excited about the snow.

Holiday getaway

Stayed for 3 nights over winter break. House is as described in listing and photos. Beautiful views from porch & living room with large windows. I was happy the heat works well. It was cold out and living at the beach I hate cold. The owners also provided plenty of blankets and throws (which we used sitting in living room).TV's in every room and able to get most channels to watch football & ball drop. Kitchen is well supplied with pots and pans. I was surprised I was advised to bring my own dish detergent & dishwasher tablets. Not a problem but it would be convenient to have those items. Showers were hot & had good pressure (a big plus for me). Lots of towels and they are good thickness not skinny cheap ones. We did have one day of heavy fog & rain but again comfortable house & we chose to simply stay in and do games & puzzles and cook. Because house is spacious, everyone can had space to spread out. We were only 5 but house could easily accommodate 10. Nice outdoor space for kids to run or adults to sit if weather is good. Easy distance to clubhouse but as room has no shoulder we opted to drive. Hosts responded quickly to all questions. Would recommend for families or even girlfriends getaway (book spa appointments).

Great for groups

My husband and I stayed here with several other couples for a snowboarding trip for his birthday. Plenty of space and parking for everyone and a very cute and cozy home

Perfect ski trip stay with friends and family

The property is great, everything was clean, awesome location close to Wintergreen, lots of kitchen supplies, great layout for a group of friends with kids. Easy check in and check out. I’d stay again in a second.

Great House for family or friend trip

Perfect setup for a large family or group of friends. Everything was great…except our luck on snow and good weather for skiing. Lots of bedrooms and bathrooms. Great open kitchen and dining area. Owners were very responsive. Def would come back again.

Beautiful Weekend - House Needs TLC

I hosted my 5 sisters at Wintergreen Resort for a long weekend. The weather was gorgeous, the leaves the perfect fall hue, and the house was located in a very convenient area. When we arrived late on Friday night, we were disappointed to find none of the beds made upstairs. Unfortunately, we were able to see the disgusting state of the mattress and mattress pads - very stained. We stayed up late to wash the bedding (all stains came out of mattress pad which says something...eeeewwww). We cleaned all the kitchen surfaces and tables. There were so many cobwebs among the chairs/furniture/lighting fixtures that it appeared no one had been in the house. Certainly not thoroughly cleaned. The owner replied to my text within an hour or two and graciously offered to refund our cleaning fee and refund one night's rental fee. It was very kind of him. The house has so much potential...but it needs to be updated. Mattresses and carpets need to be replaced. I stayed in the kid's bunk room which definitely has mildew/mold. I was so congested by the next day. The King bedrooms are in better shape and the master bathroom is pretty nice. The rest of the house just needs some TLC and updating. The house is nestled in a cute neighborhood but has no direct views of the mountains. However, you can walk a few blocks to some amazing overlooks/parks. Trails are close by and all the amenities of Wintergreen are within a 10-minute drive. We hired a car/driver to take us to wineries in the area!

Wonderful!

Wow! This house was beautiful and perfect for my family, we all loved it. It was very cozy and clean and the property owner was very informative and super easy to communicate with. We will definitely use this home again in future Wintergreen stays!

Celebrating my daughter

9 great friends got together to celebrate my daughters upcoming union with her fiancé. Enjoyed with wonderful weather conditions as well as a few wineries around the area. Definitely would recommend this spot.

Winter Break

The house was perfect for us. The heat quit working halfway through our stay, and the host worked to get the heat repaired. Due to it being the weekend, he was unable to get a repair person to the house. However, he made sure we had plenty of electric heaters so that we were able to stay and enjoy the last day and night of our winter break.

Wonderful Winter Break

We had a great stay! The location is fantastic - near the resort and slopes. Nice sunsets from the street. The layout of the house can accommodate a large group with ease. We loved the wood burning fireplace, too. It was a wonderful winter break. We would recommend this house to friends and family.

Family Holiday Fun

This beautiful home was perfect. Gorgeous views, plenty of room, great fireplace and perfect kitchen and dining area for a large group. Everything you need towels, extensive kitchenware, puzzles, books, extra blankets and very close to local market and all of the fun at Wintergreen. This is a great property for large family or friend group and Mark couldn’t have been more responsive to our needs,

Mark and I purchased Black Rock 19 in the Summer of 2007 and just completed major renovations to the house in December 2016, We fell in love with this property because it is very spacious, well lit, and large family room for the entire family to sit comfortably, living areas and is on a great lot with a flat driveway (most important in snow storms) This house distinguished itself from the many others we looked at during our house search in Wintergreen. We have lived in Richmond, Virginia since we met in Law School in the late 80s. Mark is originally from Durham, NC and I am from Alexandria, Va. We are very proud of Black Rock 19 and have had so much fun renting it to so many wonderful families over the years.

Our property is located on a large flat lot on top of the mountain, making it very safe and accessible for small children, and the elderly. Our driveway pulls right to the front porch for easy unloading. This is very important during inclement weather.
