Every room in this beautifully designed 2-bedroom home with a spacious open-concept loft and 2 full bathrooms delivers front-row seats to the magic of the sea.

Our home is nestled in a quiet, walkable neighborhood — perfect for morning strolls or evening star-gazing. This was a wonderful place to stay on our trip! Updated very nicely! Clean and well maintained. Host was very good about communicating and giving detailed directions to the home!! We loved our stay and would highly recommend staying here!!

Charming home located right on the ocean. It was in a very quiet neighborhood. We very much appreciated having access to a washer and dryer on the property. We will definitely stay again if we get back to the area.

The location was amazing and the house was great. The host had great communication. The refrigerator wasn’t working properly and the host got back to me within hours and replaced it that day. We would definitely stay here again.

Gorgeous view. Very quiet. You won’t be lonely! The cockroaches like it too! We had a great stay until we found the bodies of dead cockroaches.The host knows about the pest infestation. They claim to get the house treated once a month. I guess the poison if the exterminator is why they died at an impressive size - or old age.

I want to respond to this star rating… the house is immaculately cleaned and treated by Ecoshield monthly and we don’t have any issues with roaches ever. There was one dead roach by the trash due to this guest overloading the trash with uneaten steak, and the pest treatment worked because it was dead. I let this guest know that if you don’t take the trash and put it in the trash bin outside and leave the screen door open, you are attracting roaches in from outside. Hawaii is a tropical climate. When I checked the rental after he checked out, he left dirty dishes in the sink which also brings roaches, had spilled juice on the floor, and instead of putting the trash in the trash bins, he left the full bags of trash in the driveway. As the owner and cleaner of the rental, we cannot control the guests actions when they stay. It’s very unfortunate when guests don’t keep the house tidy during their stay and then blame the owners.

Really nice house with amazing views. Could have stared out the windows watching waves crash all day. House was very clean and well equipped and host gave us all the info we needed was very responsive to any questions. Would definitely recommend a stay here!

Great place and space for our first visit to Hawaii. We really enjoyed the view of the ocean which could be seen from almost every room in the house. The upper bedroom balcony was great for spotting the whales off in the distance. Also enjoyed sipping my coffee out on the patio in the mornings as the sun came up. The little trail out to the rocks was a favorite spot for my husband to just take in the ocean views. The host literally thought of everything we would need for our stay. Appreciate having all the comforts of home during our stay. Although it may have been a little longer drive into town to the nearest Walmart, it was worth it to be right on the ocean in a private tropical like setting away from the “city” hustle and bussle. Only thing that might have made our stay even better would have been air conditioning. But then we wouldn’t have the sounds of the ocean to listen to with the windows closed. Thank you for making our 35th Anniversary trip to Hawaii an enjoyable experience. We’d highly recommend staying at Kai Hona Hal!

Great place with suburb views.. a little off beaten path but that’s what we were looking for.. Host was wonderful and house was clean n had everything you need. Would stay here again.

Gorgeous place

Gorgeous, calming and serene. It is one of the place where you just sot in front of ocean all the long and enjoy the mesmerizing beauty of ocean. Place is newly renovated upgraded neat and clean and has everything you need to have a comfortable stay. We absolutely love this place and will stay again future.

My husband and I are both born and raised in Hawaii. I came from Oahu and am proud to be of Hawaiian descent. My husband was born in Kona, but raised in Kalapana on the Big Island of Hawaii, before the lava came and took it away. He brought our family back to the Big Island 12 years ago where we have been ever since. The vacation rental is ours and my dad's house. My dad bought it in the hopes of moving to a peaceful, less crowded place than Oahu someday. We have been managing our family vacation rental since 2007.
Our main goal is to make our malahini(tourist) love the Big Island as much as we do and we put every ounce of aloha in our rental(s) and in keeping our house(s) comfy and clean. If you are looking for cleaners for your own vacation rental, please consider us to help. We really enjoy taking care of vacation rentals.

Por que o anfitrião escolheu essa propriedade

The way the house is designed, you have an ocean view from anywhere in the house making it unique compared to other vacation rentals. All of us enjoy it here on the east side of the Big Island because it feels as though you are in 'true' Hawaii, not the over developed parts of Oahu, Maui and the west or Kona side of the Big Island. It is definitely a place where you can enjoy nature at its finest. Plus it is a safe place to raise our three sons and to be able to teach them the ways of Hawaii life such as fishing, diving, surfing, and farming.

O que faz essa propriedade ser única?

The best thing about this house is seeing whales just offshore during the winter season. It is amazing to be able to sit and watch the ocean with all its marine life (turtles, fish, whales, opihi, etc...). FYI-if you are looking for turtles, you need to look under the water in the surf(polarized glasses help). They aren't sitting on the rocks in plain sight. Aloha a hui hou!
