I didn’t realize it was a “resort” which didn’t matter to us, only that it was more suited to families. It was just my husband and I and we found it noisy at times. The onsite restaurant needs some work. The property itself was very good and the host was very nice.

The surroundings are beautiful. The unit could use some love, new and more kitchen things. The blinds are a pain and could easily be replaced with new modern light eliminating push button etc

Beautiful veiw

My husband and I stayed for a long weekend. Loved it! The deck was the best, such a beautiful view and peaceful and well used by us at all times of the day. This place had everything that was needed for the just the 2 of us. Location was great, so close to alot of different place and go and things to see. We would definitely recommend to others and would also stay here again.

Relaxing place

My wife and I had a very nice time staying here. The host was easy to contact and very friendly. The room was a simple setup like a hotel with some nice added features like a plug-in stove top burner, dishes, pots, pans etc. Even had a nice selection of spices for cooking and a BBQ on the deck. Only complaint we had was the coffee pot was not usable as it had crusted debris in it. We would stay here again and recommend to others.

Experience the island

We appreciated the nice little touches, milk, fresh fruit etc . The fridge was a little too small, we didn’t buy groceries to make meals but we still had to use our cooler for water/drinks so a bigger fridge would be ideal. Also a fan to help circulate the air(we did have both door and window open most of the time to try get the air moving) The bed was very comfortable, lots of towels too, which was great. Loved the location.

Beautiful view!

The studio was very well appointed and has a choice location which looks right out on the bay yet is private because of the plantings (and the shades if necessary). When the tide was in we could hear the waves lapping on the shore just outside the window.. Even though it was the middle of August and on a weekend it did not feel crowded there. A good place for walks on the beach which connects to a local conserved wetlands, or for just sitting and reading on the private deck. The general use deck is also very nice!

Private individual "Pilot House" with lovely view of Craig Bay

We stayed 5 nights and enjoyed our private space with our own shaded deck space looking out on the water. Quiet, secluded spot with close enough access to Parksville and Qualicum Beach for suppers out. Basic kitchenette with a toaster, toaster oven, coffee pot and mini fridge worked for our breakfasts and making picnic lunches. There is an electric coil burner top and BBQ available. The weather was very warm and an electric fan would have helped as it didn't cool down much at night. Overall, a nice place where we enjoyed our morning coffee and evening sunsets on the deck looking out over the bay.

Amazing rental

Very happy with our stay. The view from the balcony is stunning and the path to the ocean is right out front of the unit. We would definitely stay here again, the communication with the host was great and any questions we had were responded to quickly. The only issue we had was we didn’t double check the size of the fridge before we arrived and bought too many groceries at once. That was our mistake, there are pictures of the fridge in the listing and write up in the description. Just a reminder to other guests before grocery shopping the fridge size is comparable to that of a hotel. Great place to stay!

Beautiful Area

We always enjoy staying at Pacific Shores. This is the first time we have stayed in a studio unit, so it took a little getting use to. Unfortunately when we first arrived the view that is stated in the profile was obstructed by bushes that had grown up. But by the 3rd day the landlord trimmed them, so we enjoyed a beautiful view the last two days. Although it was not the view shown in the profile, which was of the view from the adjoining unit. It was quiet, but because there is an adjoning unit, there is some noise transfer. We used the bbq which worked fine, although it would have been nice if previous tenants had cleaned the grill. There is no TV or radio, but who needs it when you have such amazing scenery and walking paths.

Wonderful except...

I loved the location, the views, proximity to the beach and the quiet of the first two nights and mornings. The unit was clean, well supplied, and comfortable. But. The last night I was there, a very warm Saturday night, there was a massive party with maybe 150-200 people near the unit. The only access to and from was a path next to the suite, and it was far too hot to close windows. I considered whether to contact the host, and finally did so. She said she was very surprised and that this was unusual, and that she would contact security, and the police. No security ever came as far as I could tell, and the party carried on until close to 4 am. At one point just before 3 am I had to ask some very loud and drunk people to move from just outside the suite patio where they had congregated. I was woken up numerous times and came away very short of sleep. Once the host said she would call security, and that they would deal with it, which they didn't, she stopped answering my texts. So...good and bad I was trying not to be a cranky old woman, but it really upset me. I understand young people and fun, and the occasional inconvenience when traveling. This seemed somehow crueler. And I had hoped the host would be kinder about it, and not drop the whole thing without some explanation.

Hello Paula, Thank you for the kind parts of your review. In the four years, we have been here we have never come across anything like this, unfortunately. This was a grad weekend, and this was out of my hands. Security at the resort was contacted and they said they would take care of it. There was really nothing else I could personally do. Your texts throughout the wee mornings such as 2 am, 3 am which I answered and explained… After this a 4 am? Paula, I didn't drop the texts as you stated, and we didn’t appreciate you threatening us with a bad review if we didn’t take care of this immediately? Seriously I personally cannot go and talk to as you mentioned 150 to 200 kids on my own. It is very unfortunate you had this experience. We are happy you loved the suite though. You take good care of yourself Paula.

Nice suite with a great view

Although small, The Point House is comfortable for two people. Great patio space and a brand-new King size bed. Not ideal if you like to do a lot of cooking, but adequate for simple meals. Property manager is very responsive and helpful.

Farewell Visit

The place was great. The location was great. Good access to amenities. The only thing was the internet access was intermittent but was able to work around that. I would add a rug at the front door to reduce tracking in sand. Maybe another by the bed area. Overall, I would definitely stay there again. Had a wonderful time relaxing by the ocean.
