We enjoyed our stay as a family with two little kids. Lots of wildlife and peaceful mornings. The property description is pretty accurate, it is an adorable rustic cabin. We were ready and expecting rustic but we could have done without the dead mouse’s in the mouse traps, the giant beetles on the floor, and the huge nails in the driveway.

The cabin was lovely once we arrived. When the host says a 4 wheelDrive vehicle is necessary, do not underestimate this need. We struggled to get to the main parking next to the cabin and needed to park a little lower by another dwelling which was fine. Just a heads up. It was very peaceful and remote which was great, just going with all your sundries and food as it’s a bit of a trek to any stores. Communication was quick. The place was clean and had air conditioning and fans which was helpful. WiFi was fine.

This was a great little cabin that was relaxing and peaceful. We loved the proximity to the Red Rocks Amphitheater but it was far enough away to be relaxing. Communication with host was wonderful.

Great spot, definitely need 4x4 to get up the hill unless you have experience crawling with your sedan. TV and Roku didn’t work but that didn’t bother us, we enjoyed the fire and scenery.

This cabin was just perfect for us! I love the eclectic taste, the character and being surrounded by nature on a mountain! It had everything we needed to be comfortable. I would definitely stay again. One of my favorite parts was being visited by a small chipmunk in the morning. He was very friendly. We named him Alvin.

Mountain Retreat

This was the perfect place for our stay while visiting family who live nearby. The cabin was quaint and quiet with just enough space for the three of us. Directions were excellent as well as communication to us from the host. Bed was comfy, shower was hot, and my 9 year old found the futon comfortable.

Adorable Cabin - Spring Cleaning?

The cabin is beyond adorable and its remote location creates a beautiful & tranquil setting. We loved spending time on the porch, it was the best part of the visit. The weather was beautiful and we certainly enjoyed the outside. Especially since the cabin heats up during the day and the bedroom windows were sealed shut with plastic. Overall, the cabin was tidy though, we found many items were dusty/soiled; carpets, curtains, bedspread, & refrigerator. Perhaps, a spring cleaning is upcoming? We appreciated the prompt communication with the owner. She was always quick with a reply.

I want to leave an honest review so that other renters will know exactly what they're getting with this cabin. As other renters have stated, you WILL need a 4WD vehicle to make it up the drive. It is steep and rough. We were not able to park in the lower drive due to other cars being parked there. The description of the cabin is rustic, and I cannot stress enough the RUSTIC part. While it was very clean, there is a bit of a musty smell but I think that's due to the age of the structure. Many of the windows do not open so keep this in mind if you are staying in the summer when daytime temps are warm. We found it hard to get good airflow during the day. A few of the windows that do open do not have screens so you will get a few bugs in the house. There are no wall heaters, only space heaters. We could not get the heater in the bedroom to work so we used the heater from the bathroom to heat the bedroom. We also were not able to lock the outside door at night or when we would leave. We could not get the deadbolt lock to turn at all. There was also no outside porch light so when we came home after dark, we had to use flashlights to go from the car to the door. The location is very quiet, but there really have a "view" from the cabin. Just the neighbors below, or a view of the hillside/trees from the front porch. Overall, not a bad stay, just be prepared for the rustic nature of this cabin.

Unique cabin

The experience at the cabin was very interesting the surroundings are very beautiful and the host was very welcoming. You need a four-wheel-drive Vehicle to get easy access to the property a decent property for the cost but the main bed is not very comfortable.

Red Rocks

The property is exactly as described: a quaint cabin with a bumpy drive! It suited our needs perfectly: we chose the area for its proximity to Red Rocks Amphitheater as we were in town to see Bonnie Raitt. During our stay, we enjoyed a couple of meals at Crossroads and some hikes at Staunton State Park. We arrived a little early, but the cabin was open and we made ourselves at home (even though Vita told us they weren't completely done with the cleaning, that was fine with us). Our first night there, the internet was out. I contacted Vita and received a prompt reply and updates. We had a mule deer and her fawn greet us our first morning!
