Sleeps 4. Perfect for a couple, close friends or the solo traveler.
Conveniently located at 435 & Holmes Road, The perfect location where you can easily get anywhere you need to go in the city.

Guest access:
The apartment is the entire lower level of our house, with a separate patio entrance, private walkway and parking on the driveway. Located in a very safe neighborhood, on a cul-de-sac. You can safely stroll, day or night in this quaint community where the streets are lined with 60 year old oak trees.

Other things to note:
There is a full size Pre 1907 Brunswick pool table for those who enjoy a game of pool. Bidet in bathroom & fire table available for cozy evening fires.

Host was very welcoming! Communicated and greeted us and walked us around to the back where the patio and door was explained. Everything made me feel welcome and at home it was like I was staying with my grandma. I definitely will be coming back this summer and be telling all my friends how much of a safe place this is to stay while in Kansas City.

Perfect for our needs

Family wedding was held just a few miles away. Beautiful setting to sit and visit on backyard patio. Very attentive host. Exactly what we needed to make our time in KC comfortable.

This was not just a stay, it was a sanctuary, quiet, peacefully and artistically designed, with beautiful gardens and a wonderful patio. The host accommodated all of our needs as we came to attend a church week at Abundant Life KC and to visit friends and family. My husband is a mobile, but disabled veteran. The host not only accommodated us, but cared. Very grateful for the new connection and we plan to be back.

Lovely stay

We were in town for the NCAA wrestling championships and this was the perfect little VRBO for what we needed! Susan was so nice and checked on us daily! The yard is absolutely breathtaking and a great place to just sit and relax!

Love this place!

This place was awesome. A basement of a house in a very quiet, beautiful neighborhood where youā€™re a hop, a skip, and a jump away from anything you want to do in KC. Susan was a very warm and welcoming host and it was lovely meeting her. when we venture back to KC, we will definitely be staying here again!

Private and quiet

Close to Kansas city, yet very private and quiet. The check in/out process was a breeze and the host was very gracious. Property is comfortable and welcoming. Pool table was a big hit with family. We would definitely choose to stay here again.

Perfect Hotel Alternative

This is our number one "go to" place when we visit KC. We check to see if this property is available before we check on any other place. The host is great and the apartment is clean, comfortable and conveniently located. We will definitely be back!

We came to KC for a concert. Three teenagers and a grandma. This was the perfect home base. Susan was so gracious and very accommodating. The interior was nice but we really loved the patio and X-large backyard. The neighborhood was great and we felt like we were in

Stay at the Kirkwood Retreat

We had a wonderful, relaxing, healing stay at the Kirkwood place. Susan is a warm and welcoming host. She was very attentive and accommodating the entire time we stayed there. The yard is beautifully maintained and there were many wildlife creatures that visited. We saw birds, squirrels, chipmunks, and even deer. Anytime we need a place to stay in Kansas City, we will always stay here if it is available!!

KU Parents' Weekend

We enjoyed this peaceful and welcoming retreat. It is close to Kansas City Stadium allowing us to stay for KU parents' weekend and host our son for breakfast on the patio before the game and play a bit of pool and simply be together for a quiet evening. The glider chairs and benches on the patio invite rest and conversation -- a real bonus connecting with a busy college student. Sharon was most welcoming and gracious.

Very peaceful and pleasant stay

Susan is a wonderful host and very sweet and easy to talk to. The Kirkwood Retreat is a very peaceful place to stay if youā€™re in the KC area. My husband and I had the best sleep ever in the cozy, quiet and cool bedroom that Susan provided. The backyard patio is absolutely beautiful and was right up our alley. Great outdoor furniture, covered patio and she provides a nice fan and a Bluetooth lantern to hook up your favorite music to. The backyard is huge and beautiful. I cannot recommend this place enough!!! Thank you Susan for an amazing stay!! We plan to come back!!!

Great place, location and neighborhood. Quiet dead end street. Perfect place of you want privacy.

Driving up gave us a very comforting feeling as it is on a dead end street. Susan (property manager) was readily available as I called arriving. She greeted us with social distancing and masks and gloves. Showed us the place and went on her way. Very cozy and roomy and a home feel for us not being home. It's a small little wordly place that don't feel small at all. Porperty manager texted if we needed anything the first evening, which I found very attentive, for the night. Never heard from her again until I contacted her that we was leaving. We have business in the area again in the next few and we are going to go to stay here again.

Cozy Retreat

We really enjoyed this property because the host was so wonderful. The space is compact, but had everything we needed. The TV had a good variety of channels and there was a full sized pool table with all the trimmings. The bed was comfy and there was a walk in shower. The kitchen was minimal, but we ate out while we were sight seeing and only used the microwave to heat up left overs. The host made sure we had everything we needed. She greeted us with delicious pastries on arrival and baked us cookies the second day. The only down side is that entry involves walking down stairs and across the back yard to gain entry to the walk out badement. If you have mobility issues, this can be challenging. However, once inside you have a cozy retreat perfect for a couple with the best host we've encountered.

As a lifelong resident of Kansas City, I have lived in this place for 40+ years. It is a safe and friendly neighborhood where walking the streets anytime is a peaceful experience. Located just a 1/2 mile from the interstate, you can get anywhere you need to go in the city within 15-20 minutes.

The park like setting is beautifully landscaped which features an arbor, gazebo, small creek, statues, bamboo, table top fountain and a large lawn. The covered patio is a Zen like environment for relaxing no matter the weather. Inside decor is a unique eclectic vibe of antiques mixed with modern pieces.
