Pinewood HavenĀ is a peaceful retreatĀ located on ten private acresĀ in the beautiful Wet Mountains, about 3 hours southwest of Denver on the outskirts of historical Westcliffe, COā€”a designated ā€œDark Sky Communityā€. The property offers breathtaking views of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains and beautiful sprawling meadows. Whether youā€™re a nature-lover, a stargazer or an adventure-seeker, youā€™ll love exploring all that Westcliffe has to offer.

Pinewood Haven is the ideal place to relax and unwind. At over 7,800 feet above sea level, Westcliffe offers clean air, wide open spaces, incomparable scenic beauty and some 300 square miles of public lands where one can enjoy hundreds of miles of trails, dozens of mountain lakes and herds of wildlife. These lands are also home to the Sangre de Cristo Wilderness area, Deweese Reservoir and nearby Arkansas River. Whatā€™s more, the adjoining towns of Silver Cliff and Westcliffe offer some great restaurants and bars, fun shops, a thriving arts scene, historical attractions and nearly nonstop festivals and events during the summer months.

Perfect getaway

Pinewood Haven is a beautiful cabin nestled in the foothills with stunning views of the Sangre de Christos mountain range. Our stay there with our two grandchildren was awesome. The cabin is warm and cozy. It is the most well appointed cabin Iā€™ve ever stayed in. Though not a deal breaker, my only disappointment was there was not a TV in the main living space. We had a planned a day in the cabin to watch movies and make popcorn. There are tvā€™s in two of the bedrooms. Overall, our stay was wonderful. The wildlife watching was our highlight!

Best VRBO weā€™ve stayed in!

Wow! This is a perfect place! Iā€™ve always wondered when people said it was better than the pics, but now I get it. Very clean, thoughtful instructions all over to make sure you know things, super comfortable beds, kitchen has all the small cooking ingredients you would need, beautiful view of the mountains whether you are sitting on the deck or through the huge windows. Lots of birds including a hummingbird, chipmunks, a bunny and a deer! Even the master bedroom has a huge window you can wake up to and feel like you are in the middle of pine trees. We loved it and will definitely stay again! Thanks for a perfect renewing vacation!

At Home in the Mountains

First time in Westcliffe and Sangre de Cristo mountains. This rental made us feel at home. The views were spectacular, both mountains by day and the stars by night. Hiking close by with awesome views of colors. Would love to come back!

Pinewood Haven is an excellent place to relax and enjoy nature right at your doorstep. It has all the amenities needed for a stress-free vacation. It is professionally decorated, ideally located with views, and surrounded by nature. You wonā€™t find a more enjoyable cabin. We loved our stay and look forward to returning next year.

Birthday Celebration for Jim and his cousin Tom

We rented this VRBO cabin in Westcliffe so we could celebrate 2 Birthdays. We celebrated the birthdays at Tom's cabin in Westcliffe, but we, myself, my Hubby, and his cousin and his wife needed a place to stay for 3 days while we were in Westcliffe, CO. I found this cabin on VRBO and I rented it based on its 5 Star reviews. This beautiful cabin is located a little off the beaten path, but with perfect views of the Sangre de Cristo Moutains. The cabin is located in dark sky country, so you have excellent views of the stars. This cabin is super clean, well stocked with dishes, silverware, cooking utensils, pots and pans and anything else you may need for your weekend getaway or vacation. The beds are comfortable. Very peaceful, so you will get a good nights sleep. We appreciate the owners sharing their cabin with renters like us to enjoy. Everything at this cabin is so well thought out. We had a 5 Star stay here!! We hope for a return visit here.

Homecoming

We owned a cabin for 10 years just a few miles from this one. Love the area and loved this cabin. Very nice, great location with beautiful views. My oldest son and I stayed and had hoped my youngest son could join us. I will certainly consider this place again if I come back to the Westcliffe area.

Very Accommodating!

On our way in to Westcliffe on the evening of our arrival we hit an elk and totaled our Toyota Tundra. No one in our party was injured. The elk didnā€™t fare as well. We spent our first night at a Best Western in Walsenburg. Long nightā€¦another story. The next morning the owner, Shaun, called concerned that we had not checked in. Still fifty miles from our destination Shaun suggested a friend who was free to come and retrieve us from the Best Western and drive us to the property that morning. Everything turned around for us at that moment. The location won the hearts of my discouraged fellow travelers. The cabin so exceeded expectations. Shaun was able to extend our stay an extra day to help overcome our rough start. It was a great trip thanks to Shaun, her friend, and, of course, wonderful surroundings. One suggestion: park whatever youā€™re driving and enjoy sitting on Shaunā€™s porch deck at sunsetā€¦give the elk the road till sunrise.

Relaxing & Beautiful

The home was perfect for my family. It was well stocked, very clean, and the setting was spectacular. The summer sun and heat was significant so having an umbrella or awning for front deck would be useful. Otherwise, very enjoyable. Weā€™ll be back!

One of the best!

We cannot say enough good things about our stay! The setting is absolutely beautiful. The house was spotless and so well appointed. We had everything we needed to enjoy our time together. It was one of the best rental experiences we have had to date. Should we ever have occasion/opportunity to return to the area, we would definitely book again.

Great place to stay for a family!

This is a beautiful home with a beautiful view. It is fully stocked and very comfortable for a family. The only drawback is that it's pretty far from Westcliffe (about 25 minutes) so if you want to do things in town, it's not easy to go in and out. If you're looking to stay put and unwind in a beautiful setting, this is it.

Spectacular!

Where to start?! This place is SO MUCH MORE than advertised. The pictures of the cabin donā€™t do it justice at all. It feels like a cabin, but not that over the top cabin explosion overload way. Itā€™s classy, warm, cozy, and beautiful. The owners have thought of everything. The kitchen was stocked with decent quality tools and pans, which seems rare, and there is not a thing you might need that you wonā€™t have. Everything has been discreetly labeled with helpful information and instructions which made us feel much more at ease on the property. Butā€¦spectacular cabin asideā€¦the location is nothing short of magical and the home is positioned perfectly on the land to maximize the views of the Sangre de Cristo mountains and the surrounding woods. I have never been somewhere so quiet and peaceful, or so dark! The stars and moon were amazing, the views took my breath away, and the animal visitors were pretty cool, too. We felt like we were alone on the top of the world! 500 stars! Far and away this was our favorite vacation stay. We canā€™t wait to come back.

Magnificent House, Spectacular Mountain View, Awesome Night Sky! Excellent location for our Niece's House/Wedding (your neighbors on Grouse Lane). Hope that property will be available when we come back to visit our niece and her husband.

Sept 19-24th at Pinewood Haven

It was as better than expected. Exactly as advertised. Over the years we have stayed at several Vrbo cabins in Colorado and this is our favorite so far. It was very clean and very well stocked. We have learned to bring our own key kitchen ware and spices. It was unnecessary here. The interior decorating was very extensive and nice. If we stay in this area again we will attempt to stay at Pinewood Haven.

Peaceful needed getaway

This property surpassed all of our expectations, this cabin and itā€™s surrounding areas were very beautiful and so peaceful. The cabin itself was very beautiful and has everything you could possibly need for your stay.
