ON THE RIVER/ADK A Frame 2 Bedroom WITH full kitchen.

This property is amazing with everything you need for your stay. It has 2 bedrooms with queen beds, an office, meditation area and bathroom upstairs. The downstairs has a great room, dining room and fully functioning kitchen with most accessories. It is all decorated with the Adirondack theme.

We are very close(3 miles)to the trail-head of the south end of the Northville Placid Trail. We are six miles from Lapland Cross Country Ski Resort, a very enjoyable center offering snowshoeing and cross country skiing. There is a lot of hiking and kayaking adventures just waiting for you or resting and relaxing.

Just so you know, we do live on the property. We may be traveling ourselves, and if so, we do have a property manager. All reviews are based on us being here. There's a private entrance and your own driveway. Everyone that stays loves it here and if there should be a problem, we are right on it!

Betty was the perfect host. She was always available and went above and beyond to make sure we were prepared for the highly variable winter weather we encountered. The amenities of the property were very, very nice. The overlook of the river was beautiful (especially with the newly fallen snow). We loved the Adirondack decor. The kitchen was extremely well equipped with everything we needed for dining and cooking. Bed and bath linens were nicely coordinated - and sufficient for our stay. About as perfect a stay as you could ever want.We’d definitely choose this property again when visiting the GSL area.

Peaceful Hideaway

The house was all you could ask for and more.... beautifully furnished with a very well appointed kitchen. Close to Lapland Lake with awesome snow conditions this week. Betty, the owner was nice as she could be. We will definitely be returning!

A weekend away

This was our second summer staying here. The property is beautiful, and feels very isolated, but is only a few miles from town, and from Great Sacandaga Lake. I highly recommend it.

Delightful!!!

The cabin is charming, warm and welcoming, very clean and spacious. The location is idyllic, along a sleepy river. Our hosts are happily helpful, respectful of our privacy and generous in their attention. All in all this was a perfect spot to recharge, to rest and to soak up the charm of the Adirondacks.

Always great

My wife and I have stayed at Betty's place many times. We love it there. The location can't be beat, just a few miles out of town, with a view of the Sacandaga river from the deck. The excellent kitchen, comfortable and homey living room, ample dining room, big bathroom and comfortable bed all combine for a perfect place to stay. Betty makes sure every aspect of your stay is accommodated for. Top knotch.

On The River

Amazing property. Clean, spacious, with great amenities. Betty made the booking process seamless. Nothing beats the view from the deck, or the A frame window. River Road is a wonderful location for morning walks, and you can’t beat the starry sky at night. I would recommend On The River to anyone wanting a peaceful retreat in ADK.

Very Nice!

We stayed early/mid-July. It was fantastic! When we first walked into the cabin, we were really happy at how nice it was. I loved that the kitchen was fully stocked. This is a very comfortable setting, quiet, and a nice river view. We found a waterfall nearby with a pool below it to swim in. Our hosts were fantastic! I would recommend staying here. Lovely Stay Near Great Sacandaga Lake

My husband and I had a lovely time at this home rental near Northville, NY. The home was clean and had everything we needed in the kitchen and the bathroom with cute Adirondack furnishings. The view from the from room across to the river was relaxing sitting on the front porch. The hosts were friendly and with good communication but gave us privacy as they live in part of the house too. The home is situated close to Sacandaga Lake and we found several places to hike and swim. Would recommend the rental for the Northville area.

Excellent Experience

The aesthetics of Betty's cabin attracted my wife and me to begin with, but the view, the smell of the natural pine paneling and the well stocked kitchen made it a full sensory experience. Betty is so helpful and delightful, while also allowing us the peace and quiet to celebrate our 49th anniversary. We would recommend this rental to anyone who wants a natural environment with all the comforts of home.

Clean and cozy beautiful location

We booked this property for a summer lake exploring trip. It was a clean private location with a beautiful deck to eat on. We spent every daylight hour hiking and paddling through the Adirondacks so we appreciated the proximity to shaker mountain wild forest

Relaxing spot to get away

This property is nice if you want to be relaxed. I was able to do yoga on the front deck. I was able to read and relax on the deck as well ……….with perhaps 3 cars passing the whole time I was there. Love that

Rustic Charm in an Idyllic Setting

This fantastic property has a river view that you just can't beat. The property manager was very responsive to all communications. The property is located a few miles upside of town, offering a quiet, peaceful experience.

Lovely place. Not stand alone.

This was an excellent rental. Clean, great location, well supplied, nice layout, comfy beds. I highly recommend it. One minor issue is that it is not a stand alone rental. There are other attached units. This was not represented in the booking information or any other reviews that I saw. I may have have missed it but this aspect is very important for us. My friend and I are musicians and a big part of our experience is to play guitar and sing when we do one of these rentals. Frequently until very late. I have no desire to disturb other guests and that is why we always rent a stand alone place. We received no complaints from the other guests but we were constantly aware of the presence of others. This may not be significant to other renters but the privacy is a big part of the experience for us. Most other attached rentals such as this are indicated as such in the listing. That being said, everything was absolutely delightful and I would highly recommend this place to others as long as this privacy aspect is not a concern. If I missed this information in the listing, then I apologize.

I’m so sorry I tell everyone that we live on the property and when we travel we have a property manager, if I didn’t tell you, that’s my fault. When you inquired I was getting the counter and sink installed and that must have taken up my thinking. Anyway, all reviews are based on us being here. You did not bother anyone, we enjoyed the little we heard. You are more than welcome to come back and play, don’t worry about us. You didn’t keep any of us up at night. Again, sorry if it inhibited you playing.

Wonderful stay

Wonderful place to stay

The landlords, Betty and Narberth were awesome. They worked with me when I had to change the dates due to my parents being stuck out of the country due to COVID. They were warm and welcoming. I would advise anyone looking to get away from it all to stay in their lovely home. I am going to miss seeing that awesome view every morning! If I ever get a chance to go back up there I will stay there!!!!

Great location and beautiful views

We loved staying here. The only fall back was the carpet downstairs. It needs replacing. Also, bring your own bright light for the bathroom. It is impossible to put on makeup without one. I carry one of the ones that looks like a light switch. It worked perfectly.
