Ripples Cottage, Centrally located in the heart of Mount Desert Island

Ripples Cottage is a newly renovated bright and sunny 3 bedroom home within walking distance to the ever popular Long Pond. This beautifully refurbished cottage has all new appliances, as well as new beds in the master and queen bedrooms. The rooms are very private and each have a different feel; tucked in with a view to the meadow or open and sunny with views to the garden. The great room is a perfect place for family gatherings after a long day of playing in Acadia National Park. Come enjoy a quintessential Maine experience and stay in an ultra quiet haven close to all Mount Desert Island has to offer. New amenities at rates that are competitive with other nearby rentals.

Amenities: A washing machine and dryer are available for use, as is a dishwasher and all kitchen needs. Kids games and puzzles are also available. Enjoy an afternoon beverage on the screened porch or a long hot soak in our claw foot tub after a day of hiking in Acadia.

Bathrooms: Both bathrooms have full tub/shower and storage in vanities.

If Ripples Cottage is not available for the week(s) you are interested in please inquire about our sister property, Fox Den log cabin, only a fox trot through the woods! Brand new in summer 2024.

Always a pleasure to stay at Ripples Cottage

It’s not our first time staying at the cottage. It is a great location and has everything you need for a wonderful visit to Acadia. The host is incredibly responsive.

Our family had a wonderful stay at the Ripples Cottage! The location was perfect for our Acadia adventures and the home was comfortable and easy for us and our children. The kitchen had everything we needed, towels were abundant and nice quality and the entire place was spotless when we arrived. Thank you for a great stay- would rent again and highly recommend!

Thank you for your comments! We are grateful you had such a wonderful stay at Ripples Cottage. We keep up with the maintenance on the cottage and replace or renovate something each year. We replace the towels each season and always have other new linens. I appreciate you noticing all of this and hope to see you again another time soon!! This winter we did a complete remodel on the central bathroom - hope you get to come back to see it!!

Birding trip

The cottage was wonderful and a perfect location to visit birding spots all over Mt Desert and Schoodic Peninsula.

We had a great week at Ripples cottage. It’s in a quiet neighborhood centrally located on MDI so very convenient to get all parts of the island. Everything was clean and as described in the listing. Host was very attentive and communication was quick.

Ripples Cottage was the perfect place for our trip to Acadia National Park. It is very close to everything in Acadia National Park. You can walk to Long Pond and go swimming or rent canoes or kayaks from the business right a cross the street. The cottage is very clean and has everything you need for your stay. The host was very responsive and even stopped by to meet us. I would highly recommend staying at Ripples Cottage.

We are so pleased you took advantage of Long Pond and the kayak/canoe rental. Many of our guests have enjoyed walking down to “Ponds End” for a swim or kayak! Also, our housekeeper works hard between turnovers to be sure the cottage is spotless for the next tenants. Thanks for noticing!! We hope to host you again!

Great stay!

Our family of 6 had a great visit to Acadia. The cottage met all our needs. Kitchen was well stocked, plenty of towels, etc. Perfect location with easy access to everything but a quiet evening escape.

Ripples Cottage Amazing!!

Great stay for multi-generational family

We had a lovely stay, I loved the location and spread out ability of the property. Having laundry on site was a big plus. Also really appreciated having linens and towels provided since we were traveling from far away. The kitchen was well set up for our needs and the beds were super comfortable!

Great family stay at Ripples Cottage

Family and I stayed at cottage for two weeks Very clean nice setup for younger kids A bit of a drive into town but we were looking to stay on the quiet side of MDI so this was perfect for us. Great communication. Would stay here again.

Great location & space

We enjoyed our week at Ripples Cottage. You can't beat the location, on the quiet side of the island but not far from getting into Bar Harbor and great hikes, carriage roads on the busier side of the island, as well as access to the hiking and swimming on the quiet side. Highly recommend this place.

Gorgeous newly renovated cottage central to everything on the island.

Amazing cottage all on one level and easy to live in, all amenities, fresh and newly renovated, beautiful white linens and clean. Great location, very quiet (loons at night) and centrally located to everything on MDI.

Excellent stay!

My family of 4 and my dad stayed at Ripples Cottage for a week and it was a perfect place to stay! It was cozy but spacious. A close drive to Bar Harbor and Acadia. On tainy days it there were lots of puzzles and games to play. And we loved sitting ouside at might by the chimenea

Perfect for us

The cottage had absolutely everything we needed. It was very clean and directions were very clear. We stayed as 2 adult couples so the 2 bathrooms were perfect! I would not hesitate to stay here again. Beautiful garden too

Awesome spot

We loved Ripples cottage. Very spacious layout and perfectly centered in the middle of MDI. The yard was great, where I toddler spent most of the time hunting for mushrooms. Definitely looking to return again next year.

Quiet Cottage Escape

Ripples was a perfect cottage for our family. Bobbie was an amazing host. She provided everything we could possibly need. The cottage was well stocked with kitchen supplies and towels. The location was very quiet. We enjoyed fires in the evening, and the cottage was very comfortable for our family of 6. We would love to go back the next time we travel to Maine. I would highly recommend the Ripples to all my friends.

Great Week at Ripples Cottage

Just got back to MD from a great week at Ripples Cottage. Bobbie was a wonderful host. Cottage was clean, comfy, new appliances, and the kitchen was well stocked for cooking. It was in a great spot for accessing all of the island in short drives. We would definitely stay again.

Awesome week on MDI!

Ripples Cottage was everything we wanted. It was cozy and had all the conveniences we needed. The location was ideal - it was close to the highlights of Acadia and an easy drive into Bar Harbor. We loved being so close to Long Pond, where we rented kayaks for a lovely paddle. We hope to stay here again in the future!

Nice week of hiking and enjoying Mt Desert Island

My husband, friend and I thoroughly enjoyed our week on Mt Desert Island. The house was cozy, clean, and had everything we needed. We ate clams, lobsters, hiked Acadia, and sat around a fire each evening. It was perfect and we will cherish the good memories!

Comfy cozy

The Ripples cottage was very clean and the appliances were new. Beds were comfortable. Good Wi-Fi. Lots of windows to enjoy occasional visits by wild turkeys and deer. Quiet neighborhood, but close to villages and Acadia Park entrance. Over all nice place.
