A special destination located on the West Shore of Lake Tahoe designed to celebrate the good life and provide an escape from the ordinary.

Rubicon Retreat is a luxury, three bedroom, three and 1/2 bath, 3200 square foot home designed with all the modern amenities you wish for, yet steeped in the charm of old Lake Tahoe

Walking into the main level, you see an open floor plan, which offers a spacious living room, dining room, and huge kitchen for entertaining or casual family gatherings. From this level you can experience relaxing views of the lake throughout this exceptionally-designed home and onto the private, outside deck. A perfect back-drop to the beauty of the lake.

Upstairs, the private primary suite has a spacious bath with double sinks and a large walk-in shower. The best feature though is the private balcony just off the bedroom overlooking the incredible lake views.

Downstairs, there is a large family room with media center and another private deck area. Also on this floor, a second primary suite with lake views and its own private bath.

The third bedroom is the 'bunk room' which has two sets of Mountain Red bunk beds to accommodate children over two years of age. This third bedroom also has its own private bath. There is also a separate laundry room located downstairs.

This is the vacation home you have been dreaming of. Close to both North Shore or South Shore, but world's away from the congestion of both.

Considered to have the most beautiful turquoise water on Lake Tahoe, Rubicon Bay is a delightful area to enjoy the private south HOA sandy beach. Perfect for relaxing on the beach, swimming in the clear water, or renting a kayak to explore the beautiful lake. Close to Emerald Bay and DL Bliss State Park, Rubicon Retreat is located in an area where people say it reminds them of how Lake Tahoe used to be. Hiking and walking trails abound, and because of the close proximity to both North and South Shore, there are many opportunities to enjoy all the special restaurants, shops and activities for vacationers. But if you just want to put up your feet and watch the world go by, this is also the place to relax and enjoy nature at its finest.

Rubicon Retreat is a Treat!

The property is set is a beautiful location, with fantastic views across Lake Tahoe. The house itself is very nicely decorated and the layout was perfect for the three couples. The kitchen has everything a cook would need. Truly a home away from home.

Beautiful Tahoe Retreat

Rubicon Retreat is beautiful in every way... comfortable and well appointed. The view of Lake Tahoe is incredible and we loved the easy/convenient access to the private beach. The owners were wonderful and we can't wait to go back!

Lovely Spot

We had a wonderful time at this beautiful, warm home. Location is perfect for getting to the beach and the views are amazing. The house is well stocked and feels like home. We look forward to next time!

Amazing Week at Rubicon Retreat

This property is amazing. Wonderfully kept, tastefully decorated, and beautiful deck overlooking the lake providing peace and serenity. Great location - to hiking (Emerald Bay, Eagle Falls, and Eagle Lake), easy drive into Tahoe City, and very nice association beach.

Wonderful Retreat

The place is beautiful - great kitchen, wonderfully decorated rooms, picture windows, and expansive patio with an amazing view. We could have spent the entire time just at the house. And the short walk to a private beach is a bonus. I would highly recommend this place for a relaxing getaway. The owners (Tom and Sharon) were wonderful to work with and very responsive to any questions that we had. It was like staying at a friend's place.

Rubicon Retreat

A wonderful retreat for anyone, but especially Tahoe-lovers like my wife and myself. The cabin possesses a gorgeous and peaceful view of the Lake, with three levels of decks. . The hosts were very responsive and helpful to our needs. Highly recommended!

Memorable Rubicon tradition continues

Our family has made the Rubicon area our vacation tradition for decades. Our stay at Rubicon Retreat has surpassed all other properties! The attention to detail with all amenities to insure our stay was perfect was spot on. Our deepest thanks, Sharon & Tom, for the perfect vacation!

Spectacular

The ONLY negative I have about this property is that I had to leave it! The owners have thought of every possible detail to truly make this a home away from home. The views from every window in the house are truly spectacular! There is something absolutely magical about Lake Tahoe and we had the best week of our summer at Rubicon Retreat. It was so nice to have a private HOA beach to go to each day. A quick three minute walk from the house! We loved every moment of our stay here!

Rubicon Retreat

Absolutely amazing stay from start to finish. The home is easy to get to and the owners were extremely helpful. They gave us tips on grocery stores and wonderful restaurants. The arrival process could not have been easier. The home is more than we could have hoped for. Gorgeous in every respect. All amenities were taken care of. Nothing was left for us to want. We would stay their forever if we could!!!!

Panoramic lake views and spectacular sunrises

We had a terrific week long stay at Rubicon Retreat. We were impressed by the spectacular views of the lake from nearly every room in the house (minus the bunk room). The deck and the large open kitchen were the highlights; we enjoyed preparing meals together in the large open and light-filled kitchen and relaxing on the deck in the mornings and evenings after an activity-filled day. All the rooms were spacious and comfortable, and we appreciated waking up to the sunrise. Sharon and Tom were communicative pre-arrival and during our stay and struck the perfect balance of being available but giving us space. The location was convenient to Tahoe City and hiking trails in the Desolation and Mokelumne Wildernesses. We hope to return in the near future.

Amazing home!

We stayed at Rubicon Retreat for 5 nights over our kids' February break. We've rented our fair share of houses in Tahoe over the years, and this was by far the best. The home was beautifully appointed, very spacious (that kitchen!), and had jaw-dropping lake views from almost every room. Sharon was a responsive, friendly host. We can't wait to go back in the summer to enjoy the beach right down the street.

Perfect home and location for a restful retreat!

Sharon and Tom are wonderful hosts! Communicative and so helpful! Their home is beautiful, clean, and was the perfect spot for us to enjoy time as a family. The views can’t be beat and great location for activities on the lake, hiking, biking, and beach!

Great House!

We spent ten days at Rubicon Retreat in September and were very happy with the house. Even though there are lots of houses nearby, it is situated in such a way that you don't notice them. The views of the Lake are spectacular and it is a very short walk to the beautiful white sand beach. I have been coming up to Tahoe since I was a kid and this is by far the nicest place that I have stayed. Although there were only two of us on this vacation, it would be a great place for a three generation family or a couple of families. Lots of room and a really huge kitchen that can easily absorb "too many cooks". It's on the West side of the Lake and an easy drive to Tahoe City and Truckee or South Lake Tahoe. Lots of places to hike within a few minutes' drive. Highly recommended. We will definitely be back.

Extraordinary Vacation Home

My son and family enjoyed one week at Rubicon Retreat. One week was not long enough. The home is perfect our two families each had its own floor offering privacy as well as comfort. The views are lovely what a great way to wake up in the morning looking out at the many shades of Tahoe blue. The house was built with great style and quality. This is the kind of place that was wonderful to come back to after a day out in nature. Bliss, Emerald Bay, and Sugerpine are just next door making trips out very easy. We can't wait to return to Rubicon Retreat.
