All New Modern Designed Apartment private entry off 1920s Craftsman Home

We are northwest natives, both architects who love this area and the beautiful outdoors. Prior to having two young children visited all the major US cities - New York, San Francisco, Chicago, Philadelphia, Washington DC, LA to name a few. We couldn't imagine calling home to any other place than the Northwest. We love sharing our insights on our wonderful West Seattle neighborhood - restaurant recommendations, sites to see, and any other questions about a stay in Seattle. We love hosting people and learning about their travel adventures!

We fell in love with this beautiful 1920s home with its all original vertical grain cedar siding, craftsman details, and unfinished wood throughout. In addition the downstairs was completely unfinished which allowed us to pull in some craftsman details from the upper two levels, while designing a sleek, modern seperate apartment space for our family to come in from out of town and to host on VRBO. As we are both architects, we designed the space to feel private, quiet and relaxing.

While this apartment is downstairs, it feels more like a daylight basement. Beautiful morning light comes from the east bedroom window which looks across the front yard to the street. As the house is situated up from the street, there is still plenty of privacy. We utilized sliding glass doors to allow light to pass through from the bedroom into the dining space. We chose a Novaform mattress for what we hope to be the most comfortable sleeping experience. The kitchen has all new custom cabinets with plenty of utensils, pots and pans, coffee mugs, a Nespresso machine and full fridge. Smart TV and comfortable living space with books and games provided for your entertainment and use!
