Anchor House/Guest Quarters 200 Yards from Beach in Sand Point with Ocean & Pool Views
This very comfortable beach home has some ocean view and overlooks the climate controlled pool in the Sand Point neighborhood with restaurant, pool, hot tub, beach boardwalk and golf cart access. And with three king beds, one queen and four beds for children, our four bedroom (plus loft) Anchor House/Guest Quarters is the perfect set up for three or four couples with children.

Anchor House is the upstairs three bedroom (plus kids loft) home with an interior doorway/stairway connecting Guest Quarters which is the ground floor one bedroom one bath apartment. The two are rented together as a single four bedroom unit during peak season dates and events (or individually in the off season only). We offer super comfy king beds, leathery couches, tiled floors, upscale coastal décor and tropical landscaping on a street lined with equally beautiful homes.

We are also THE PRIME LOCATION for SandFest which is an international sand sculpting competition held each year in April. It takes place right next to the Sand Point neighborhood's private boardwalk over the dunes so you can even see the event from the home.

Remember folks, Sand Point is the ONLY neighborhood "in town" with restaurant, bar, pool, hot tub, beach boardwalk and golf cart access. So lock in your dates before some other savvy family gets on the calendar ahead of you. We'd love to host your next trip to Port A!

Enjoy the fresh tang of salty air from the decks of this beautiful Sand Point beach house. The feel of the breeze, the sound of the sea and the waves rolling to shore will cast their spell on you.

Port Aransas is a small town of 3000 residents where visitors can buy shrimp right off the boats or catch their own fish and have them cooked at local restaurants. Bicycles, scooters, electric cars, golf carts and walkers abound. And here you can still drive to your favorite spot on the beach and share a sunset cocktail from your own cooler or take your dog for a romp in the surf without a pet permit. It's the ultimate for water sports, casual attire, excellent cuisine and relaxation.

Perfect spot

Within the neighborhood this beach house is perfectly situated, it backs right up to the pool and a quick walk to the beach path. The downstairs apartment was the perfect fit for our parents who can’t do the stairs to the second and third floor. Plenty of outdoor showers and hoses to get cleaned off after a day at the beach. A great spot and a wonderful stay.

Wonderful place

The place was very clean. We all fit comfortably. Bedrooms were nice. Kitchen and living room was spacious for all of us. We really enjoyed our stay.

Convenient location

This house was perfect for our big group of 8 adults and 4 children. So convenient to the beach and eating places. The only thing that would make it better would be one more bathroom with shower upstairs. Other than that it was great!

Good place to stay, close to everything, spacious enough for 6 adults to stay comfortably. Could have been a little cleaner, no blankets to cozy up with and needs updating but overall very happy with our stay and would book again.

House was just a short walk from beach and was a breath of fresh air. We had the best time staying at the anchor house. Mathew and his staff are the best. Was there for whatever questions we had. I will be back!! Great time

The Getaway

Great weekend getaway. Would of preferred own connected bathroom with one of rooms on second floor but we made do. Dryer was not working well so it took a while to get towels to dry. Addressed the leak near the tub in the bottom floor bathroom. The a/c was nice and cool and beds very comfy. Will definitely come back again.

Beware!

Paid fee to VRBO and 1 of a kind. We have been going to Port A for 19 years. This is the first time we were did not get our security deposit back! No, pics provided either to show proof of supposed damages! Will NEVER book with 1 of a kind again!!

Thank you Julie for taking the time to let others know that $499 fee was the Service Fee you paid DIRECTLY to VRBO/HomeAway, as I made clear in my response email to you back in February, five months prior to your stay. I wrote "Sorry Julie, that's VRBO's "Booking Fee" for which I have zero control over. I absolutely did not charge it. In fact, 1 of a Kind Beach Houses has NEVER charged any kind of service or booking fee." So today, seven months later, I'm very sorry you didn't research this information prior to writing your recent review, and for the resulting confusion you're still experiencing. Upon checkout however, housekeeping and maintenance discovered Julie's renter agreement had been breached. There were broken window blinds “rigged” back up to disguise the damage. There was pet hair on the furniture where the multiple non-repairable claw marks where found covered by throw pillows. Julie asked for photos of the damage which I provided immediately. She claimed the window blind pic was "bogus," but never once disputed the claw marks on the furniture. She did however dispute the Security Deposit credit card charge with her bank. But Visa reversed her dispute in full in my favor, after they reviewed the honest and accurate documentation I provided. Folks we run an honest family business expecting honest and respectful families to come enjoy our family beach home without abusing it. Now on the other hand, if you damage my family beach home, or try to sneak in undeclared guests and/or pets, or fire up a turkey fryer on the wooden deck, you, much like Julie, will not be happy with the consequences. After 20 years of pleasing families, check all our reviews y'all. I believe they speak for themselves! And remember. Sand Point is the ONLY neighborhood "in town" with restaurant, bar, pool, hot tub, beach boardwalk and golf cart access. And Anchor House is one of only four homes that offers gulf views overlooking the pool and hot tub area. So give Anchor House by 1 of a Kind Beach Houses a try. I'm very proud to be your 20 year, sandals on the ground, direct island time contact for family, fishing, food and fun.

We had a good experience

House was a few minutes walk to the beach. This was important to us because we hauled tent, chairs coolers and toys with the cart provided and it was easy. There are many restaurants nearby and Close to stores if you get sick of eating out as we did. Bring your own indoor entertainment if you have beach heaters or kids in your group There is a grill but not in great condition so we didn't use it, which we would have loved to. There is also a pool literally out the back door but we didn't get a chance to use. Great deck upstairs which we thoroughly enjoyed. There's only one bathroom to share in the main sleeping area upstairs but it was otherwise adequate in terms of space. We had a good time here..hope you do too.

Terrible

When we got to the house the house was full of sand the floor and beds. The floor had not been moped. For the amount of money we paid it was not worth it. When we walked in the house it had a nasty smell.

Jeannette stated 7 adults, 2 children and no pets when she rented the property. But she got caught with WAY MORE adults, children and pets, and was charged accordingly. Had I known she was going to leave an EXTREMELY BIASED review, I would've evicted them for breach of contract. But at the time I didn't want to ruin their vacation. Folks we run an honest family business expecting honest families to come enjoy our family beach home. So if you're one of those tourists who think the rules dont apply to you, PLEASE book somewhere else leaving that slot for a more respectful family. OR at the very least, dont call Guest Services five minutes after arrival requesting more blankets, and then open the door to show us what's running amok inside. Check ALL our reviews people. I'm sure you'll find everything you need to know in determining if Anchor House is right for your family. After all it is one of a VERY few number of houses with gulf and pool view "in town" with restaurant, bar, pool/hot tub beach boardwalk and golf cart access.

Great Family House

The Anchor House was a wonderful place for our family of sisters, spouses, boyfriends, and children to stay! Although it wasn't feasible for us to cart everything and all the children to the beach for the day by walking, we managed by driving a short distance. We were able to walk to the beach for morning and evening strolls. At the time we stayed in early July, the mosquitos were horrible. We could not walk to the swimming pool or walk the dog in the grassy areas around the house without being attacked by mosquitos, and when you have children that are sensitive to mosquitos, that made bug spray a priority. We were able to spend time outside on the decks, as the breeze kept the mosquitos at bay. All in all, the house was great, and the host as well.

Great house for a family beach vacation - will be back!

Perfect for family or group vacation. Clean house, nicely maintained, nice linens & towels and plenty of room! We stayed here with 5 adults, 2 kids and 2 babies (1+). Several stair wells to be careful of with the babies, but we brought a baby gate and there were also a few already at the house. Also many beach toys in the garage that were great for the kids, in case you don't bring your own. Furniture has some wear, but to be expected in a beach rental. I stayed in the guest quarter bedroom and the bed was very comfortable. Super cute beds for the kiddos on third floor loft w/ TV.. they loved it. Overlooks the pool and just a short walk down to the beach. No complaints at all & would definitely stay here again. Wouldn't recommend for more than 8 adults - 4 of the 12 sleeping spots are best for kids. Thanks for a great week!!

Thanks Eryn for the wonderful five star review and thanks for mentioning the wear on the furniture. Mom was so embarrassed that she went out and bought all new furniture for everyone to enjoy. Would not stay again

Check in was at 4, and you have to meet the property manager at his office and would not meet us til 4, filled out paperwork, that should have been available on line to save time. Got to the house, housekeeping was not done and had to wait another 30-40 minutes to get in the house. We had a large group with us and the 2 showers; 1 on the bottom floor and 1 on the 3rd floor made it problematic. Overall it was ok, but would not stay there again.

Thank you Dawn for taking the time to leave feedback. And thank you for helping me remind folks, the 5th of July is one heck of day for housekeeping after a night of "fireworks" in Port Aransas. Thank you for your understanding. And thank you for reminding people check-in time is 4pm unless the house is ready sooner. And thank you for giving me this opportunity to let folks know there is a real reason for coming to the office besides paperwork that could've been filled out online to save time. You see; There's no online way for me to see who's going to show up at my family beach home with three undeclared dogs, a stack of brand new red beach towels, two motorhomes with eight or 10 extra/undeclared guests, and a turkey fryer. NO THANK YOU! There's a hard earned reason you come to the office. Thank goodness we can laugh about the turkey fryer today. NEVER say you've seen it all! So remember folks. Sand Point is the ONLY neighborhood "in town" with restaurant, bar, pool, hot tub, beach boardwalk and golf cart access. And Anchor House is one of only four homes that offers gulf views overlooking the pool and hot tub area. Give 1 of a Kind Beach Houses a try.

Great Stay

The intake process was quick, even though management became a little sensative regarding the subject on security. Coincidently, when we arrived to the unit, we didnt immediately notice that the electronic lock door handle, on the main door was not functioning properly. It became evident that after a few tries to depart, and access the main door, that it would not function as intended, and required a little play with the handle for it to properly engage. They have a wonderful guest services, that went above and beyond when when they were told about the main doors lock, and did everything they could to get it to function. My compliments to them and all their efforts to get that lock functioning properly. The staff there will go out of their way to replace a defective lock. All in all, a convenient location by the beach. A great, staff that went above and beyond. Thank you

Family vacation/family fun!

Ten of us met there from NM and Texas for a fun in the sun week. We were not disappointed when we arrived. The house was everything the listing stated and more. The photos were very accurate and the property was well maintained. The pool was in the back of the house and it was amazing. A short walk and we were on the beach. Everything was close, resturants, fishing, dolphin watching and shopping and we all could access what we wanted. Upon arrival the home was clean and ready for us to enjoy, which we did. Our grandson loved the stairs and the pool. We rented a golf cart and crusied the streets and beach and had a wonderful relaxing time. Thanks to Matt for all of his assistance in booking. The neighborhood was well maintained as well and everyone was so friendly. I would recommed this house to any group that wanted to stay together, but have plenty of space to spread out. It was an amzing week! We have rented several houses and again we were not disappointed. If you want to have a great time this is the house! Would definetly consider returning to Port Aransas and this house!!!!!

Beach Access

This property was very close to the beach. Only about a 2-3 minute walk. The pool was also right out the back door. It was a nice size for our group of 7. We also love that this area is golf cart friendly and you can drive on the beach. Thanks for a great vacation in Port Aransas! We will be back.

TERRIBLE ONLINE LISTING. Dishonest and cheating!

The listing says it is a house consisting of 4 bedrooms and 3 full bathrooms. When my family and I (consisting of 3 couples) were checking in we were informed the house has ONLY 2 and half baths + a shower outside the house. (It was still chilly to shower outside) (Not comfortable for the price we paid). We would have never considered a property like this one if the listing had been honest and accurate. The owner and Vrbo are dishonest and cheating. Be aware !!! First time and last one with Vrbo.

Thank you Lorena for helping me explain to other travelers the bathroom situation, as shown in the listing. *There is a full tub/shower bath on the ground level in the Guest Quarters. *All on the 2nd level is a half bath toilet, and a separate outside shower-hut accessible from the interior changing room. *There is also a full tub/shower bath on the third level. After 18 years of pleasing families, check all our reviews folks. I believe they speak for themselves, and remember. Anchor House

Matthew our host was very friendly and nice. Check in was quick and smooth. The house is great. There was plenty of room for everyone. It was well stocked with towels, TP, paper towels, there was dish soap and even some laundry pods. It is a very short walk to the beach, maybe 5 minutes. Only complaint would be that the couch is too small. Only 4 people could sit and there was only one chair in the living room. The couch is also very low on the back so you can't really lean back to relax. Also, watch out for the metal legs, a few of us stubbed ours toes on the legs. All in all we had a great time and would definitely come back to this house.

Awesome!

Great place, staff was very responsive. Right next to pool for the kids. A few things with tv's sound, but overall loved it!
