Walk into National Park! Deck w/ Elk & Mtn Views
Walk into Rocky Mountain National Park from my cozy, contemporary duplex influenced by my Norwegian roots (STR Permit 20-NCD0079). A 4K TV, full kitchen, queen bed, private bath, & nice deck will ensure a great getaway. My duplex basically abuts the park, so wildlife abound!!
`Proposed to my girlfriend here and she said yes!!!` - Ryan
+ New beetle kill woodwork
+ 5 min drive to the Park visitor center
+ 5 min drive to town
A 425 s/f staging ground for Rocky Mountain adventures!
★★★★★ PLEASE NOTE ★★★★★
+ This is duplex with neighbors and county hours (9pm-8am). If you need isolation, you`ll need to look 20+ miles from here.
+ You`ll need to back down our driveway to exit, which some guests have found challenging. Please see listing photos. AWD/4WD required October through May.
+ 4pm or later checkin; 10am checkout. Our cleaners can`t accommodate exceptions.
+ No smoking inside or out; no fire pits, no parties. 4 guests max.
+ My cleaners offered a bargain to keep the rates in the lowest third of homes this size, and I pass the savings on to guests. They ask that guests do the dishes and start load of towels in the washer at checkout. It takes five minutes but saves the cleaners an hour.
★★★★★ GUEST LOVE ★★★★★
`We were hoping for some peace and quiet with beautiful surroundings. This house was the perfect place!` - Dia
`This was a perfect getaway for my husband and I. We felt right at home upon arrival and were sad to leave... having a beautiful peaceful home to `go home` to every evening felt great... Amazing views from every window, will not disappoint!` - Shellie
`Stay here!! No joke... Rannveig is a wonderful host, the house it very clean, easy to find, and insanely close to the RMNP entrance and downtown Estes Park. My husband and I woke up to Elk just outside the window. How can you top that?!` - Caroline
`Rannveig`s cabin was the perfect mid-Winter solo retreat for me. I had planned to do daily hikes but ended up mostly nesting in this perfect little place!` - Alayne
★★★★★ MY HOME ★★★★★
Thanks for checking out the north apartment in my duplex, perfectly situated a few hundred yards from the boundary of Rocky Mountain National Park. You will love its cleanliness and modern, cozy feel inspired by my Norwegian roots. It`s well appointed with a cozy living room, TV, big sofa bed, comfy queen bed, and the fully equipped kitchen will allow you to feel at home.
My favorite feature is the vaulted living room ceiling, making the tiny space feel quite big. I recently installed beetle kill pine milled from local trees. I also love the deck, which is surrounded by mountains.
BEDROOMS
My home offers 1 bedrooms with its own private bathroom, plus sleeping for two more on a living room sofa bed.
Bedroom 1 - A comfortable memory-foam mattress will ensure a good night sleep after a long day of hiking. Attached is a large closet for your gear, plus a full bathroom complete with shower/tub, original wood siding from the 1940s, and a new toilet, vanity and medicine chest. Blackout shades ensure privacy and a sound night`s rest, but if you like to wake up with the sunrise, you can leave them up and close the sheer curtains and watch the room light up in the mornings.
Bedroom 1 - Not really a bedroom, but the living couch turns into a full size bed that can comfortable accomodate two. A spare set of sheets and blankets is in the chaise part of the couch, which flips up.
LIVING & ENTERTAINMENT
Living Room -There`s a brand new 44` 4K smart television with Roku. Come on in and log into your favorite streaming service. Netflix, Amazon Prime, Sling, Hulu, etc.
WiFi - My home employs a mesh WiFi network with no dead zones. A 100Mbps connection will allow you to stream and work without any issues.
LAUNDRY & COOKING
Kitchen - The galley kitchen has everything you need to cook. There`s a full stove and oven, fridge and freezer, and assortment of pots and pans. There are cutting boards, wine glasses, coffee mugs, and a french press so you can get your caffeine fix before you enjoy the park.
Laundry - My tiny space features a full size washer and dryer that you are free to use.

I live in Estes Park and know the town and the National Park like the back of my hand. I moved here in 2010 and am a photographer specializing in weddings and family portraits. I have spent the years since climbing, hiking, skiing, cycling and adventuring in and around Rocky Mountain National Park and am happy to offer advice on the best hikes, drinks, dining and adventures in the area. I`m just a quick text or email away! Otherwise please be in touch with my co-hosts.
My neighborhood has about 30 historic vacation cabins. There are other buildings nearby so if you are looking for total isolation and wilderness seclusion, another home may be better for you.
That said, the location can`t be beat. You can hike out your door and catch a trail a few blocks away that leads into the National Park.
You`ll be on the west side of Estes Park, so you don`t have to brave downtown traffic to get into the National Park. Driving into the center of town is a short 7 minute journey, and the closest grocery store, the Country Supermarket, is 5 minutes away.
During the summer, there`s a free shuttle bus that goes all over Estes Park and into the National Park. There`s a stop close by, about a 10 to 15 minute walk.
NOISE
Events, loud music and noises, and parties are prohibited. Please be respectful of your noise level. This is a duplex with a shared wall and both sides are vacation rentals. There are also neighbors in the neighborhood.
NONPAYING GUESTS

AIR CONDITIONER
Like nearly every other home in town, there’s no A/C, but the cool mountain air will quickly cool the home down in the evenings when you open the windows.
* After booking, guests may be asked to review and accept a standard rental agreement covering house rules, safety disclosures, liability, and damage responsibility. This agreement does not modify pricing, cancellation terms, or refund policies presented on Vrbo and is intended to be consistent with Vrbo’s terms and the listing details.

+ Cleaning is expensive here and I want you to pay as little as possible. The cleaners offered a deal to keep the rates in the lowest third of homes this size, and I pass the savings on ! I ask guests to pay it forward by starting the dishwasher and a load of towels in the washer. It takes five minutes but saves the cleaners an hour, which saves you money!
+ 4pm or later checkin; 10am or earlier checkout. We can`t do early check ins or late checkouts as they are not insured by AirBnB.
+ No smoking, fire pits or parties
+ 4 guests max
