What an amazing location! Breathtaking water with crashing waves on the rocks to endless white sand beaches. Snorkeling was a great experience around the Bohemian. And our host Stefan went above and beyond with his extensive culinary expertise always a new and exciting dish every meal. Combined with great conversation it was truly a unique experience compared to your typical resort or Air style rental. Very good value for your money. We will absolutely return here again.

We loved our stay at Stefan's property. Our room was large and comfortable with indescribable views of the ocean. Snorkeling in front of our room we found lots of fish -including a stingray, a trunkfish and an ocean trigger. Stefan is a fabulous host. He arranged our car rental and met us at the airport. We ate breakfast and dinner with him every day and thoroughly enjoyed it. On a few occasions he invited over some neighbors for dinner and we had fun meeting them all. There isn't much to do on San Salvador aside from fishing, diving and snorkeling, but it was perfect for me. We did visit Club Med one day and Stefan was happy to arrange the day pass for us.I hope to return to San Salvador one day and stay at The Bohemian again.

Our stay at The Bahamian was an absolute dream. The gorgeous blue waters were mesmerizing, the meals were wonderful, and the conversations were always stimulating. Stefan and David were incredible hosts and we can’t wait to book our next stay. Until then, we will dream of beautiful waters, amazing food and drinks (especially the pool side pina coladas) and even better company.

An amazing experience in an idyllic location. Beautiful seaside pools, Crystal Clear ocean water and secluded beaches made this vacation a peak experience. Stefan is a gracious host and insured that we had everything that we needed.

The Bohemian on San Salvador is dangerously close to perfection.The location is spectacular, with a beautiful private beach, crystal clear water, and five saltwater infinity pools because apparently one infinity pool was not sufficiently extravagant. There is also decent snorkeling directly off the beach, so you can spend several days forgetting that the rest of civilization exists.Occasionally, a crab wanders into a pool. You may share the water with him, respecting his vacation choices, or gently yeet him back toward the ocean using your hands or the provided net. All possible crab related contingencies have been considered.The delightful host prepares excellent meals. Request the lentils. This is not a suggestion. It is a command from the culinary throne. Whatever sorcery is performed upon them, they are magnificent.Should you inexplicably decide to leave paradise, visit the lighthouse and the Gerace Research Centre. Club Med also offers day passes for those wishing to mingle with the outside world. Foolish mortals. Between the five pools, private beach, snorkeling, food, and occasional aquatic crab companion, leaving is entirely unnecessary.We have returned multiple times and are already planning future visits. The Bohemian has claimed us. There is no escape. Only lentils. And sometimes crabs.

Quiet and Relaxing

The Bohemian was a great location to get away and relax from our busy lives back home. Amazing view from anywhere on property and we were the only people on the beach! Pools were lovely and Stefan is a great cook. We would love to come back to San Sal Island in the future and would stay again.

Relaxing paradise

If you are looking for peace, quiet and privacy this is the place for you! It feels like you have your own private island. Stefan was great and made us feel at home. We needed to relax and got exactly what we wanted. Would definitely stay again!

Words cannot describe!

Words cannot describe. Where to begin ? The Bohemian is the sort of thing only dreamers and visionaries can come up with. Stefan has opened up his Home and heart to the world and a stay here will leave a lasting mark on your existence. I booked a 9 person stay here to celebrate a 50th birthday and I cannot imagine a better place to do it. We enjoyed Stefan’s culinary skills daily and even the most picky of pallets were satisfied every single time. We arrived as guest and left as friends. The views are breathtaking and the experience is unparalleled.

Luxe Easter Escape

From the moment we arrived, our experience at The Bohemian was pure magic! The property is absolutely beautiful — located right on the water with breathtaking views of San Salvador’s crystal-clear beaches. Stefan was not only an incredible host, but a true guide and an amazing chef who is full of knowledge and anecdotes. He made us feel like family, helping us navigate the island, find hidden beaches, and even guiding us to unforgettable snorkeling spots.The Bohemian itself is peaceful, clean, and full of island charm. We loved having direct access to the ocean, relaxing by the pools, and soaking up the quiet beauty of the island life.This wasn’t just a vacation — it was an experience. A real connection to the island and its people. Thank you, Stefan, for making our Easter escape so special. I just returned from a stay at the Bohemian beach house a few days ago. It was an amazing place to stay!...I would love to plan a return trip with girl friends. Stefan really goes above and beyond to make the stay amazing. He was waiting for us at airport when we arrived. I would recommend letting him arrange a rental car (it's only 60/ day) one of the best deals I've had on a rental car. I would say that options for dining on San Salvador Island are not numerous considering it is a more isolated, less touristic island. But the nice thing about that is for a very reasonable price Stefan will cook meals for you. He is an amazing chef, we enjoyed every meal immensely. He is very sociable and has many contacts on the island, so he can help set you up with any excursion you want to do. His property is stunning, right on a cliff above the ocean. It is a very short walk down to a long white sand beach that usually has no one on it. It's like having a private beach all to yourself! I would highly recommend bringing bug spray. We did not realize that we were getting eaten by sand flies until we got back home with a bunch of itchy bites. Otherwise the stay was pretty perfect! Stefan really makes this VRBO what it is. He is an expert in hospitality and a very interesting person with some interesting stories if you're interested in hearing them. He is definitely an enhancement to the stay and extremely helpful with anything you could desire. I would highly recommend booking with Stefan

Bahamian Paradise

It was fantastic. The property is beautiful and the ocean and beach are, too. The owner, Stefan, is a wonderful host. He arranged the car rental, entertainment, and went way out of his way to help one of our travelers get to the island because of a Bahamian Air last second schedule change. Stefan is also a great cook! The only downside was that the swimming pools were inoperable due to recent bad weather. Also, it is just a little bit of a climb up and down the rocks to get to the beach, but my 85 year old father-in-law did the climb just fine. I only mention this for folks that might have mobility issues. Overall, it was a great trip. Thanks to the groundskeeper, David, for his friendliness and hospitality, too!

Best of the Bahamas

Beautiful home. Close to everything. Stefan makes the stay! I think he could do anything!! San Salvador island is the definition of beauty. Peaceful and serene and yet plenty of activity if you want that. A few tips that helped us: Be sure to rent a car with him. It costs near nothing. Let him do the cooking. His simple recipies are so well balanced and tasty. He organized a massage for us at the house with one phone call. If you want something... ask him. Im sure he can oblige. Bring repellant for sand flies. They're everywhere. 10/10... will go again!

Paradise

What a week! Our group was there to celebrate my husband’s 40th birthday. Stefan was the best host, giving us options, happily assisting us and suggesting things. The property itself is so cool you don’t even need to go to the beach, but when you do it’s a quick walk down (5 mins) and you’re there. Basically deserted. Absolutely breathtaking views, sunsets were unbelievable. The food was fantastic. Our group kept asking what Stafen used in his recipes because they were so good! The island itself is really filled with only locals. People who want to venture off the property typically visit club med or go fishing or go on a day trip to a deserted island. All of these can be organized by Stefan. In all we absolutely loved our stay and will return for sure!!

Paradise in San Salvador

During our recent stay at The Bohemian on the island of San Salvador in the Bahamas, we were absolutely blown away by the exceptional experience we had. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by Stephan, our gracious host, whose incredible cooking left us eagerly anticipating each meal. Amazing trip!

My husband and I stayed at The Bohemian for 1 week at the end of April 2023. The Bohemian is an amazing property! The pictures do not do this place justice, it is stunning. The rooms are clean and comfortable and most have an amazing ocean and pool view. The outdoor shower (yes, it had hot water!) is great for rinsing off the salt water. It's worth the quick trip down the rocks to the beach, there are overhanging rocks that provide shade. You just have to watch the tide if you don't want your things to get soaked. There isn't really feasible option for the property to be able to get beach or lounge chairs to the beach so I highly recommend that you bring some compact travel beach chairs with you if you want to hang on the beach (you'll likely have the whole beach to yourself). They are worth it as we have used them on several trips. Stefan is a wonderful host and chef! He also arranged a rental car for us and is a wealth of information about the island. We have traveled the Caribbean a fair amount and this is definitely at the top of our list of places. San Salvador is "off the beaten path" and not "touristy" which is what we were looking for. If you are looking for a relaxing place to with minimal people then this is the place.

I was on a trip to The Bohemian with my wife, 18 yr old daughter and 5 of her 18 yr old girlfriends. It was a challenging trip if that isn't already clear. I was in a no-win-situation from the start. I needed The Bohemian and Stefan to deliver or else it was going to be a very, very, difficult 4 days for me. The house was great, the property was amazing, and Stefan was the best. Great conversation with Stefan (who, by the end of the trip, was known as uncle Stefy to the girls) and he made some great meals for us during our stay as well. Stefan's cooking is not to be underestimated. Top notch. David, who works the property with/for Stefan was also great. Really good dude who also hung out with us and talked throughout our stay. The pics of the house are dead-on. House is on maybe a 15ft cliff overlooking the Caribbean side of the island. The beach was easy to get to from the house, super clean and soft, and without any trash or grub. Overall, it was a fantastic trip. San Salvador turned out being a little trickier to get to and get home from. That was probably the only downside. But other than that, it was a home run of a trip. Many thanks to Stefan and David.
