Welcome to The Boathouse on The Bay. A comfortable 3-bedroom, 1-bathroom boathouse with a full kitchen and living room overlooking Hay Bay. This 4 season boathouse accommodates up to 5 guests (six guests with pre-approval).

The Boathouse on the Bay is ideally located 2.5 hrs east of Toronto and 2.5 hours south of Ottawa. From the boathouse you're only 40 minutes to the Prince Edward County region, 40 minutes to Kingston and 40 minutes to Belleville. You'll enjoy endless sites and activities in the surrounding areas, including Napanee; only 15 minutes from the boathouse.

No need to pack bed linens or bath towels; we provide you with everything you'll need.

The newly renovated kitchen offers all the comforts of home and is fully equipped with all the cooking and serving pieces you'll need. You'll enjoy all new appliances as well as dual serve coffee maker offering single serve or carafe settings. We also supply coffee, including coffee pods and tea. For your convenience, the kitchen is stocked with basic cooking oils and basic spices. You can expand your cooking experience to the outdoors with the use of the propane BBQ on the boathouse deck.

Relax in the comfortable living room that includes a smart TV with satellite cable, Netflix and WIFI access.

With a southern exposure youā€™ll enjoy the sun and the breeze on your private deck overlooking the water. Guests are welcome to take advantage of the shoreline and the use of 6 kayaks. The Bay is crystal clear and perfect for swimming. As the water is quite shallow, it supports the growth of water grasses which will brush your legs in the water and we recommend water shoes as it is pebbly underfoot. Guests can take advantage of a designated pebble beach area for lounging by the water and gathering by a bonfire in the evening.

We are dog friendly! Your pup is welcome to run off leash on the property. We kindly ask you to encourage your dog to stay off the furniture and beds and we remind you to bring their favourite blanket or dog bed for their comfort. We have a limit of 2 dog guests and apply a pet fee of $10.00/day.

Enjoy a relaxing getaway and take advantage of the surrounding sites and activities:
ā€¢ Hay Bay is a premier fishing destination, for both open water and ice fishing, and is home to largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, perch, pike/walleye and lake trout. A public boat launch is conveniently located 2 lots down. Once launched you are welcome to tie your boat at the Boathouse and park your trailer.
ā€¢ Prince Edward County Wine Region. A 30-minute country drive to the Glenora Ferry delivers you into Picton. This charming town is known for great shopping, art culture and boasts several breweries and wineries to tour.
ā€¢ Golf. Napanee Golf and Country Club is located less than 15 minutes from the Boathouse. With several golf courses within 30 minutes you can spend your day on the course and return to enjoy a relaxing evening on your lakeside deck.
ā€¢ Hiking and biking trails. Lennox and Addington County Trails include 12 well marked trails offering easy, moderate and challenging rides.

Beautiful and quiet location on Hay Bay. If you want to relax and get away from the rat race, then this is the place. The Boat House is wonderfully decorated and modernized. Great deck with a bbq overlooking the Bay. The owners Lisa and Glen are fantastic people. Highly recommend it.

Fabulous location on the lake

Fun on Hay Bay

The Boat house was the perfect choice for a family vacation. The house is beautiful. So much fun Paddle boarding, kayaking and fishing were all excellent. We traveled with our dogs who give it 10/10 paws up. Highly recommend if you are looking for somewhere to relax and unwind

Girls Get Away

The Boat House was perfect for our long weekend getaway. The hosts are so friendly and professional, they made the stay very easy. The beds were very comfortable, the kitchen was well appointed, the view of the bay from the living room is so peaceful. We couldn't asked for anything more! Thank you for a great stay.

Peaceful Week

Lisa & Glen were wonderful hosts, and the boathouse is a perfect destination for a relaxing getaway. Pictures are a perfect representation, and the views are stunning from inside and outside overlooking Hay Bay. Comfy beds, super clean, and lots of nice touches that show they really care about their guests. Would both recommend and return!

Relaxing and Peaceful Stay

Absolutely beautiful location right on the lake. House was very clean and felt right at home. Was fully stocked with everything we needed. We loved swimming and kayaking on the lake. Exploring the nearby attractions and just relaxing. Lisa & Glen were wonderful hosts, extremely pleasant and responsive. Definitely had a super relaxing stay.

The beach house exceeded our expectations. The house was beautifully decorated and immaculate. The grounds were beautiful and accessible. Swimming from the dock and pebble beach was wonderful. I highly recommend a stay at this comfortable house

Wonderful Vacation

As soon as we got to the Boathouse and walked in, we knew our vacation would be perfect. From the style of the Boathouse to the smallest details, our hosted provided everything that was needed to have a great vacation. Kayaks were great and Glenn was amazing. Thank you for such a great experience.

It was peaceful, private and on the waterā€™s edge atop an unused boathouse. Many birds inland and on water. Very relaxing, dedicated hosts, clean and well decorated cottage.

Amazing location and beautiful property

This holiday house was such a find with its elevated living overlooking the lake and easy access into the water from the small beachfront or jetty. This place was 'home from home' with a generous welcome pack and well stocked pantry that showed care and consideration for guests. Bedroom space was perfect for us with teen kids and really loved the open plan living space and picture window views. Definitely recommend staying here.
