Living on Island Time #3 - Cozy coastal cottages with a whole lot of charm!

Thank you for your review and we are glad you enjoyed your stay with us! Following Hurricane Harvey in 2017, we had to renovate all the cottages. Therefore, they have already been recently updated.

Sorry to hear you do not enjoy your stay. Unfortunately with mattresses, we cannot please everyone since people have different preferences for mattresses. Sofa bed mattresses are especially tough. We will check the mattress to see if it needs to be replaced. As you probably saw from the other reviews, our cleaning ladies are normally very thorough. So, the toilet seat must have just been an oversight. Very sorry abut that. If you would have called us to let us know, we could have taken care of that for you.

We are very sorry to hear you did not enjoy your stay. Summer time is a very busy time of year for vacation rental owners and their staffs and we do our best to make nothing gets missed. Unfortunately, we are only human and we all make mistakes. This was a cleaning that each of our cleaning crews thought the other one cleaned it already. This was our mistake. Once we were notified of the issue at 2pm CST (1 hour before check-in time), we did our best to resolve the issue as fast as possible and had it cleaned and ready by 4pm CST, which is only one hour after the check-in time of 3pm CST. Since an early check-in was not approved by us, we are not responsible to have it cleaned until check-in time of 3pm CST. In addition, for the inconvenience, we offered to reimburse you the $25 cleaning fee for the mix-up. On VRBO, the description clearly states it only sleeps 4 in beds. Also, when we get a request for more than 4 people, we also state "All of our cottages are only equipped to sleep 4 people or less. We HIGHLY discourage having any more than 4 people staying in any of the cottages. The only time it "may" work is in Fins & Feathers with small children if they will be sleeping on cots, sleeping bags, air mattress, etc. But, it will be tight quarters." . This being the case, I am not sure what else we could have done here to be more clear. We looked at the shower door and it looks like it just got knocked off the track. It was easily fixed by putting it back on the track correctly and lubing the track so it will slide easier. We also looked at the sofa bed and easily fixed this issue as well. We wish you would have informed us about these issues during your stay so we could have addressed them at that time. Unless you tell us about these issues, there is no way for us to know about them.

We were never told about this issue. Had we been told, we could have had the AC checked out. Being over 100 degrees those days, you can only expect it to get 75 degrees at best during the day. We have had multiple people stay since and have not had any complaints but will definitely have it checked out. Also, not sure what you mean about “the rules stated”. The only thing the rules state is to set the AC to 78 degrees when you check out. Sorry you did not enjoy your stay but I wish you would have notified us about this right away.
