Located only 4 minutes walk from the sea and 8 minutes to the wonderful beach of Ag Paraskevi it is the perfect place to enjoy relaxing holidays. During the day take a seat at the veranda with your cold drink and enjoy the picturesque Landscape. At night time enjoy the starry skies while seating under the almond tree.
If you enjoy snorkelling there is no better place than the crystal clear waters of Porto Germeno. Dreaming of fishing- Walk with your fishing rod down to the rocks !

Beautiful sea just near the house

The house is located in a small town just near the sea. There are a few beaches in the town; we went to the one which is in the northern part of the town (about 5-7 min walk from Maria's house). There are a few restaurants in the center of the town, a cafe where they serve waffles and pancakes and a nice bakery near the bus stop (all of them in about 20 min walk from the house). If you prefer to cook your meals, you can find all the needed kitchenware in the kitchen (including a coffee maker). There is a small supermarket in the center of the town where you can buy bread, fresh vegetables, eggs, dairy products, etc. We enjoyed our stay at Porto Germeno!

A quiet hide-away on the Gulf of Corinth

Maria's house is perfect for a relaxing holiday. Simply furnished but with all the essentials, including a big fridge/freezer, coffee maker and washing machine. The terrace and garden were perfect for sitting out and sharing evening meals and wine. The location is sleepy, but the beaches are close and the amenities of Porto Germeno aren't far away. A car is essential, but if you're confident driving in Greece then day trips to places like Delphi and Corinth are easy. Athens is also within easy reach (we drove to Aghia Marina metro station and parked in the multi-storey car park). There are street dogs around the house, but they are not aggressive and we didn't find them too noisy. They certainly weren't a problem for us. The neighbourhood was friendly, and it was nice to say "yasas" to neighbours walking past.Maria's house isn't high luxury, and the area isn't the place for night clubs and high energy activities - but if you're looking for a quiet place to hangout and enjoy life then Maria's house is perfect.

Maison typée très agréable, avec tout ce qu'il faut ! Très bien placée, à 2 min à pied de la mer où nous avons vu les plus beaux fonds marins riche en poissons ! Nous y avons passé un excellent moment :D Maria est très réactive et disponible :)

Für Individualisten in schöner Lage, abseits des Massentourismus

Das Haus liegt in einem hübschen kleinen Ort in einer Bucht über Serpentinenstraßen(!)mit traumhaften Ausblicken erreichbar, der nächste Ort ist 30 Fahrminuten entfernt! Der kleine Supermarkt hat das Nötigste zum Auskommen, Restaurants sind vorhanden ( nur eins probiert, war gut). Wunderschöner Kieselstrand mit schnell tiefem Wasser ( nichts für Kleinkinder), nie überfüllt. Das Haus, früher mal sehr schick, nun etwas veraltetes Mobiliar. Das Bad könnte eine Überholung gebrauchen. Bei Sturm ist es zugig (Fenster undicht). Dennoch fehlte nichts, alles funktionierte, die umlaufende Terrasse mit Meerblick und Außenmöbeln wunderbar, keine Einblicke durch Nachbarn. Wer nicht allzu pingelig ist genießt den individuellen Charme in dieser Oase. Mit Maria ständig in Kontakt gestanden, sie hat uns immer gut beraten. Auto fahren sollte man können.

Perfect place for a quite vacation

We’ve been to Porto Germeno twice, both times we stayed at Maria’s house. The house is clean and spacious, with everything we need for a comfortable stay. We enjoyed the perfect weather, the crystal clear sea, and the Greek cuisine in local restaurants. We hope to come back again.

Kein Luxus, aber sehr gemütliches Cottage

Man sollte dieses Domizil nicht buchen, wenn man Luxus oder eine gehobene Ausstattung bevorzugt. Wir jedoch fanden es gemütlich und haben uns trotz des schlechten Wetters wohl gefühlt. Die Eigentümerin stand mit uns in Kontakt und hat uns den Einstieg leichtgemacht vor Ort zu sein. Das einzige Manko, vor allem wenn man mit Teenagern reist, war das es kein WLAN gab trotz Ankündigung bei FeWo-direkt.

Super Lage zum Meer. Sehr guter Kontakt zu Maria.

Schlüsselübergabe und Anleitung für Warmwasser etc. hat wunderbar geklappt. Die benachbarten kleinen Kätzchen haben uns täglich besucht und wir haben uns schweren Herzens von Ihnen verabschiedet. Die Terrassenmöbel waren für ein gemütliches Essen im Freien zu klein, bzw unpassend. Das war jetzt auch der einzige Minuspunkt. Wir hatten einen schönen Aufenthalt im Haus.

Lovely house in beautiful location

The house is lovely and comfortable to stay in. Maria sent very helpful directions for how to find the place and it is just over an hour's drive from Athens. The kitchen and bathroom have not been modernized but we didn't really mind as everything is clean and functional and the place has real character and charm. The kitchen is very well-equipped. There is a terrace in front of the house with a wonderful view of the sea and the mountains in the background and we loved being able to sit and eat or have a coffee or a glass of wine out there. There are a few small pebbly beaches within easy reach of the house, all amazingly clean and, in September, when we stayed, virtually empty. . There is not much to do in and around Porto Germeno and the local amenities are pretty basic, but it is a beautiful spot on a stunning part of the coast and perfect for a relaxing break. The only reason I did not give this property 5 stars is nothing to do with the property itself, but with the location: there is a pack of apparently mostly stray dogs that roam around the village houses. They did not come up to Maria's house, but they tended to hang around the houses at the bottom of the road and if you don't like dogs, it is unpleasant to have to encounter them every time you go past. More annoyingly, they bark constantly. This is particularly a problem at night. The house is on a quiet back street; there is hardly any passing traffic, and this could be an idyllic spot, with nothing but the rustling of the olive trees in the breeze and the gentle splash of the waves in the background. However, this tranquility is regularly shattered by loud outbursts of barking and howling dogs. We hardly had an undisturbed night's sleep the whole time we were there because of this and it is a great pity that what could be such a perfect, peaceful little holiday spot is marred by this nuisance.

Gemütlich, sauber, großzügig, perfekt ausgestattet (Cozy, clean, spacious, perfectly equipped)

Das Ferienhaus hat alles, was man braucht. Der Kühlschrank war kalt, es gibt auch einen Gefrierschrank. Im ganzen Haus sind Ventilatoren verteilt. Es gibt ein Bügeleisen und ein Bügelbrett. Badetücher und Badeutensilien liegen auch bereit. Der Weg ins Zentrum ist zu Fuß erreichbar. Im Ort gibt es ein wunderschönes Café und man kann auch gut essen in den Restaurants. Ein kleiner Supermarkt hat alles für den täglichen Bedarf. Die Vermieterin Maria war nicht da, war aber über WhatsApp immer erreichbar. Sie ist sehr freundlich und hat uns das Gefühl gegeben, willkommen zu sein. Es gab nichts zu beanstanden, wir hatten nur 1-2 mal eine Frage an sie. Die Antwort kam immer schnell. Wir empfehlen das Haus ganz klar. Es liegt optimal für Touren nach Delphi, Korinth, Theben und Athen. Für Badefreunde bietet der Golf von Korinth super klares und angenehm temperiertes Wasser. The house has everything you need as a vacationer. The fridge was cold, there is also a freezer. Ventilators are distributed throughout the house. There is an iron and ironing board. Bath towels and bath utensils are also available. The way to the center is within walking distance. In the village there is a beautiful café and you can eat well in the restaurants. A small supermarket has everything for daily needs. The landlady Maria was not there, but was always accessible via WhatsApp. She is very friendly and made us feel welcome. There was nothing to complain about, we only had a question 1-2 times. The answer always came quickly. We recommend the house very clearly. It is ideal for touring to Delphi, Corinth, Thebes and Athens. For bathing enthusiasts, the Gulf of Corinth offers super clear and pleasantly tempered water.

Prettig huisje op fraaie locatie

Een prettig ruim huisje, voor een heel schappelijke huursom, op een prima locatie: op 10 minuten lopen van een fraai strand- en zwemplekje, en op een uurtje rijden vanaf Athene. Op 3,5 km van het huisje is een mooi basketbalveldje. De omgeving is prachtig, je kunt direct vanaf het huisje naar boven wandelen de helling op, maar ook in de verdere omgeving zijn vele mooie plekjes met fraaie natuur. De keuken is goed ingericht, met apparatuur die het gewoon goed doet: fornuis, oven, koelkast, vriezer, vaatwasser. Ook de wasmachine is prima. Voor de rest is het een wat ouder huisje, met zijn eigen sfeer. Op het eigen erf is beperkt ruimte voor activiteiten. De bedden zijn wat aan de kleine kant, dat geldt met name voor de drie éénpersoonsbedden. Er was geen wifi. De verhuurder (Maria) is zeer behulpzaam, attent en prettig in de communicatie (mail/telefonisch) en spreekt goed Engels. Kortom: een prima huis, op een prima locatie. De prijs/kwaliteit-verhouding is zeer goed.

Gemütliches Häuschen in ruhigem Badeort

Das Haus hat alles, was man braucht, um sich wohl zu fühlen. Man merkt an vielen Details, dass die Besitzer es auch selbst nutzen.Nicht steril, sondern sehr gemütlich, wenn auch die Einrichtung teilweise ein wenig in die Jahre gekommen ist. Küche ist perfekt ausgestattet, außerdem gibt es etwas Kinderspielzeug, englische Zeitschriften, Spiele... Die kleine Badebucht in 10 Minuten zu Fuß ist sehr schön, wenn auch am Wochenende etwas überlaufen. Es gab ein kleines Quallenproblem, allerdings nicht dramatisch (Kind wurde einmal gebrannt, war aber am nächsten Tag schon fast verheilt. Fenistil hilft). Porto Germeno ist recht entspannt. Insgesamt auf jeden Fall zu empfehlen, es war ein schöner Urlaub. Danke an Maria!

Nice house with great views

We enjoyed our stay in Marias house. It is a nice house, clean and well equipped. Only the shower needs some maintenance. A higher outdoor table and chairs would be more comfortable for outdoor dinner. The house is located at about 20 minutes walking distance from the village of Porto Germeno, where you find a supermarket, a bakery, nice bars and restaurants. At 10 minutes walking distance you find the very nice beach of Ag Paraskevi. Furthermore it is a good starting point for trips, a.o. the Akropolis and Eleusis.

Lovely spacious house!

We really enjoyed our stay in this lovely house. It was light and airy, and very spacious. there was also nice outdoor space to enjoy the perfect weather. It was a little tricky to find, but once we did, the location was great. It was a pleasant walk to several great swimming spots, and an ideal location for day trips. It's a beautiful area, we hope to come back again.

On the countryside of Greece

It was very nice to stay in Porto Germeno. A small village of fishermen. The house is very comfortable and spacious! From Porto Germeno it is very easy to visit Athens and Korinth .

Absolutely amazing piece of Greek coast.

Maria is an excellent host and her house is an exceptional place to stay if you want to taste something traditionally Greek and walk away from the busy beaches of known resorts. The house is much bigger than you would expect from the pictures with two double bedrooms and huge living room. It was incredible to wake up early in the morning and see the blue sea and picturesque mountains from the terrace. If you are into diving just grab the gear and walk 5 minutes down the road. If you want to take a sunbath and fry on the beach give yourself 7 minutes and walk a little more along the main road. And if you are into hiking, pack the backpack and go up the road to reach the mountains. The village is located in a strategic position for archaeological quests so if you are into antiquity (I was) you can easily reach most of the locations mentioned in Greek Mythology and ancient history. Athens, Thebes, Megara and Corinth are all less then hour drive and we managed to get to Mycenae and Delphi as well. An ancient fortress of Aigosthena can be visited on the site. We spent a really nice time in Porto Germeno with our two young children. I am sorry Maria for clearing the vines from grapes but the girls where unstoppable. Every morning before the breakfast they would forage in the garden. To sum -up if you want to have a unique, family – style holiday in a less known location, don’t hesitate.
