Vibrant Barrio themed home located close to I-10 Freeway, 2.1 miles from Tucson Convention Center(Downtown), 10 miles to Az Sonora Desert Museum and Old Tucson, 1 1/2 hours to Phx, less than 1 hour to beautiful wine country in Sonoita, Az . Close to 131 mile bike loop and many great hiking destinations. You have to check out Tumamoc Hill(1mile from house). Our home is kid and pet friendly. Fenced back yard and a small park located directly behind property.
The space
4 bedroom, 2 bath home decorated with color, flair of Mexico and Saltillo tile(pack your slippers). The house is comfortable, bright and roomy. There are smart TVs in all bedrooms and Living Room. The yard is fully fenced and you will be centrally located to some of Tucson’s best eateries, Tourist attractions, parks and business centers Downtown. The University of Arizona is 2.5 miles, Pima Community College west is a 5 min drive and El Rio Golf Course is a few blocks from property.
History: Lola Sanchez lived on this property for 76 years. The original adobe house was replace in the 70’s with a block home. She loved her home and decorated it (and herself lol)in the vibrant colors of the Barrio and Mexico. Lola’s family were farmers from Benson and Mexico. Her parents bought this land in early 1900s. The Sanchez family has been well established in the Barrio Hollywood neighborhood for almost a century. We hope you have a wonderful stay and experience the culture of one of the oldest Mexican American barrios in Tucson.
Guest access
Guest are free to use the entire property plus a large yard. There is a front porch with patio furniture and a patio table out back door with 2 chairs.
Other things to note
The house is fully fenced. There are 2 gates which can be locked if you like to pull cars inside driveway. You can get up to 4 cars inside gate. A lock will be provided (in laundry room) if you choose to lock. We do not lock gates daily.
The Westside of town can access most of Tucson within a half an hour drive. You will be close to some of the best restaurants in town. The streetcar is 1.9 and El Mercado is a fun collection of eateries and the coffee shop there is highly recommended. Downtown restaurants and nightlife is a cheap Uber ride from property.
