It doesn’t get much closer than this! Settled right on the edge of the ski slopes you’ll love where it’s located. Under new ownership with new improvements and plans for many more that will bring you back again and again. New additions include a bunk room to sleep plenty of kids for a multifamily ski adventure or a break from the summer heat. Enjoy the large deck, new gas grill, and amazing long range mountain views. You can sit in the living room by the electric fireplace or go to the dining room/sitting area and watch the skiers and snowboarders zoom right by. Step out your door and you are practically standing on the most popular ski slope in Beech Mountain, Upper Shawneehaw. Main level has a living room, dining area with more seating, 2 bedrooms and 2 baths. Bottom level that is accessed by a spiral staircase, has 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, washer and dryer and sitting area. Bottom level also has a deck with slope access as well. Multiple TV’s so you can relax in your own room after a long day and of course Wi-Fi. Come stay in one of the most perfect vacation homes on the mountain.

Everything about this stay was perfect! Host was great & easy to get in touch with. The slope access was phenomenal! There was a man made jump right outside the bottom porch and we could sit and watch people hit the jump! We will definitely be back!

Not very happy.

We were really excited about going up to Beech Mountain. This area is our favourite getaway. The view was awesome but the rental had a lot to be desired. When we arrived there, the house had a musty smell and warm inside. We immediately decided to turn on the A/C to only discover there was no A/C even though the rental description stated A/C. Then we decide to open the windows and door to attempt to cool the living area down. One window did not have a screen, the others, except for one, had holes in the screens where flying insects could enter. As the weekend progressed, we noted other issues. The kitchen and both upstairs bathroom faucets leaked, the microwave was filty and had to be washed to use. The refrigerator was not cooling properly and we could not store perishables. Some of the windows were fogged due to being old. The commode seat in the bedroom's bathroom had a foam type seat that has a split into the center that can harbor bacteria and considered filty. The handsoap, in one of the bathroom, had been watered down to the point the water separated from the liquid soap. We did have a great time at Beech Mountain as usual so the weekend was not a total disaster but this rental property has a lot to be desired and I could not recommend unless some issues were addressed as stated above. This place does have a great location for ski-in and ski-out on Uppper Shawneehaw and may be great in the winter. We did try to contact the rental company but they were closed .

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Enjoyed watching the skiers and snowboarders ski right by the porches and watch them from inside through the big windows. Liked looking out at the Mountain View. Plenty of room in the house for everyone. We had a great time and the snow was beautiful to see. Everyone enjoyed being able to ski right up to the house. Has to be one of the best and one of the biggest houses on the ski slope. Our second year staying at this house, we love it!

Family Ski Weekend

The location was perfect! The snow-lovers were right on the slopes and the others could watch the skiers go by on the slope from the cozy inside. The house was spacious and perfect for our family get together! Thank you to the Hosts for being available to answer our questions!

Great location

We loved the location. It’s directly on the slope. We enjoyed skiing in and out of our house and really enjoyed watching everyone skiing. We had an issue with the power and the host was very prompt in responding and getting an electrician out to try and fix it. We had 8 adults, but it could have easily slept several more.

Wonderful!

This property was amazing! Would love to stay here again. Directly on the slope, able to see the skiers come by right outside the window which the grandparents loved! 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, 2 sitting areas. Location perfect!!

Hawk Week

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Visit was scheduled to coincide with Broad-winged Hawk migration. We were able to see over 3,500 hawks migrating to South America, most flying directly overhead. Hundreds of other birds were moving up the ski slope in their migration south and provided good entertainment during the morning hours. The house and furnishings were fine. The outside of the house could use some attention but was not anything to cause us to not choose the location again. We visited Fred’s a couple of times for necessities and found most everything we needed. The gas grill worked well - used it twice. ...ordered a pizza from the Brick Oven - it was ok but a bit pricey. Our visit was to watch birds and this location was perfect as suggested by the rental management. Beautiful sunrise and stars were magnificent when the sky was clear. Wouldn’t recommend to a friend for the same time frame because we want to come back but it would be recommended for any other time - ha! It would probably be a great place for a family ski trip but we don’t ski so we would have to leave that to others. We visited Blowing Rock on Saturday and enjoyed the short trip. Great week by our standards.

Ski loft house

We loved this house!! Great view of snowboarders and skiers. I could sit by window and watch the kids and grandkids going down the slopes! This year got the bad storm night before we left so alittle tricky going down the mountain but roads were plowed even though it was -15 degrees….looking forward to going back next year!!

Good but not great during summer months

The house was nice and the views are spectacular! It was a real bummer that hardly any of the windows open so in the summer time, there was minimal airflow during the day and it actually got hot at night despite the 50degree temps. There was also a good bit of mold growth in the showers that needs to be cleaned up.

Amazing views and slope access!

We had an amazing stay! The views were breathtaking. Very easy access to the slopes. We got to watch our kids snowboard all day through the windows and the deck. You definitely want an all-wheel-drive just in case you get snowed in. We were able to shovel our way out and they plowed the roads so we got lucky. You also want to remember to bring ice! We kept forgetting to get it whenever we went down to Fred’s general store. The house was fully stocked and it really helped that we didn’t have to bring linens or towels. The beds were super comfy! The coffee maker is a drip so you will need ground coffee not K cups. The spiral staircase to the bottom level is pretty narrow so you may want to keep that in mind just in case you plan to have elderly or disabled members in your group. They would need to stay on the top level. Getting luggage down the spiral staircase was entertaining. But it all worked out and we had a great stay. The space heaters were a big help! Especially downstairs. Downstairs got very cold very quickly. The space heaters did the trick! For the rental company… it would be helpful to have more information on the general information sheet we get when we check in. For example, I had to go and search for the contract to find out that we had to carry the trash down to Fred’s. This information was not on the information sheet. Also the Wi-Fi didn’t work. The code on the sheet was incorrect. Luckily we found the code inside the house on the router. We enjoyed our stay and can’t wait to return. Our vacation was definitely a success and this house made that possible! Thank you!!

We had a wonderful time. Lots of snow. Beautiful views. Fully stocked. I would recommend this property as it has it all. Directly onto slopes with easy access. Will keep in mind for future use!

Windows provide 360 views at top of Beech, amazing Leto into slip ski access, updated looks, clean, charming atmosphere that made staying inside just as fun as being on the slopes. The house is 3 miles from pizza parlor and Fred general store. Management couldn’t have been nicer!!! It was an incredible time!!! If you want a mix of quaint relaxation, easy access to food, and slope side with great views- this is the house

Great area -- but house needs a little work

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The area, general store, restaurants, ski resort, views, activities, etc... are all amazing. The house is located in a great spot (slope side) and has wonderful views.Inside the unit was just OK despite having plenty of rooms and sleeping options. I understand it has recently been purchased with plans to update it, which is needed since we did have several problems. I would not stay there again until it has been updated. PS - The guys who came out to service the property were excellent. They were fast, reliable, and friendly.

Perfect slope view

We had a few college friends come and stay for 3 nights (February 2021). The house is situated right on the slope and we all seriously laughed way harder than we should have at the skiers and snowboarders. The house is well equipped with kitchen needs. Due to the snow the house only had one parking place but they had enough parking for us below at the check in office. The house is comfy, heat worked great. The island in the kitchen has a bend to it, don’t line your bottles up on it, they will slide off. The pillows left a lot to be desired but man the view was absolutely amazing. The set up was super nice with a queen room up and the 4 bunks upstairs. Down was 2 queens and a daybed. The bathrooms were all functional and easy access. Good closet and storage room. Other than the need of a deep clean (the windows need a good pressure wash) it really was perfect. We will keep it on the list for yearly visits. *Ps if it has snowed or snow is coming take a shovel. We had to shovel the deck so we weren’t standing in knee deep snow while we watched the slope.
