Welcome to Manistique Stone Cottage, hosted by Simple Life Rentals. This charming cottage is in a premier location where you can enjoy all that Door County from a lovely country setting. Door County charm abounds in this 4 bedroom, 2.5 bathroom home located just outside of Fish Creek, adjacent to Peninsula State Park.

The cottage features a large living room, formal dining room, and a screen porch. The property sleeps 14 in beds with 3 queen beds, and two twin over full bunk beds and 1 twin bunk bed. Enjoy the large country yard with a fire pit and plenty of parking. Spend all day enjoying the peninsula and then head back to the cottage to enjoy a relaxing evening with family and friends!

Amenity + damage protection waiver includes:
-Bed linens, pillows, blankets, and bathroom towels. (Please bring your own beach towels)
-A starter pack of essentials which includes toilet paper, paper towel, dish soap, dishwasher soap, hand soap, and garbage bags. Due to septic systems, we do not provide facial tissue. One each of travel size shampoo, conditioner, and body wash per full bathroom.
-PEACE OF MIND Damage protection covers up to $1000 per stay for accidental damage that is reported prior to departure (excludes any pet damage).

This property is located in a quiet community with neighbors and is geared towards quiet family vacations. Due to the proximity of neighbors, we cannot accommodate parties at the property including bachelor or bachelorette parties, reunions, or other rowdy gatherings.

Group consensus: Great place to stay!!The property had a great open space where we could all hang out and plenty of space so you could "break away" from the group if you needed "alone" time. The kids and adults alike liked the outdoor space... room to run, throw a football, etc. We really liked the location! So easy to get to wherever in Door County.

Cottage Stay

The cottage was clean and well appointed. Our family enjoyed our stay. The cottage and its furnishings were rustic and enjoyable. Having 5 children under the age of 10 gave us some challenges as the furnishings in the cottage were somewhat fragile. As the cottage is heated with fuel oil, there was a slight fuel oil odor in the kitchen and mud room areas. It was our only complaint.

Private and Beautiful Location

We did a vacation with my family, first time not camping in Door County. We had 10 adults, this house accomadated us great. The location was perfect for us as we really utilize the state park. The back yard was very private and provided lots of space for us to play yard games, the woods next to the property is state park land, my husband was very much enjoying looking for morel mushrooms and ramps. He found a few morels and many ramps. There were a few issues with things like the refrigerator door not opening properly but we managed and informed company right away of issue. The kitchen was also well stocked for our needs, we did most of our meals at the house and I never found myself lacking. We enjoyed the panini press that was provided. The house itself has alot of charm, we used the back porch alot and enjoyed the lilac bushes that were in bloom, smelled so good. We will be back to stay here again. So grateful for the beautiful placed provided for us on our vacation to Door County.

Perfect for a family

This was the perfect place for our family to stay. Plenty of space, beds, and chairs outside. Very close to state park. The fire pit was perfect. One issue was there were no extra blankets and it got chilly at night. Just a sheet and thin quilt on each bed. We also had to buy garbage bags since the box that was left was empty. Other than these 2 things it really was perfect for all of us.

Fish Creek girls getaway

The cottage was charming. We enjoyed the screened in porch and backyard. For how many people the cottage can sleep there could be more bathrooms or the bathroom upstairs redone. Otherwise, we thoroughly enjoyed the accommodations.

Excellent stay

The house was just what we needed and very comfortable for our group of 10. The location was convenient and it was easy to get to different areas in Door County. Would definitely stay again.

Beautiful, historic home

We had a wonderful stay in this home! Three different families stayed and there was plenty of room for all of us. Living room and screen porch were delightful and the kids LOVED the bunk room, including the excellent selection of children’s books. The outside space was also fantastic. Lots of room for kids to run around. There were a few places where the house was not quite as clean as we would have liked, but it’s also a very old home in the woods with tons of character, so some dust, dirt, and bugs was to be expected. Overall we would highly recommend this rental and hope to stay again next summer!

Great stay in Door County

The house was a great space for our family of 12 (8 adults, 4 kids). We enjoyed the fire pit in the backyard in the evening and relaxed on the porch. Location was convenient to explore the Door Co. area. We had a great stay.

Door County Stay over July 4th

Charming house. Bedrooms very large. Beds were ok. Charcoal grill, would have been nice to have a large regular grill. Huge back yard. No outdoor lights to light the yard, those were not working. The dryer did not work very efficient. Overall, we enjoyed our stay. Was great family time. Prolly wouldn't stay again unless the price was less.

Door County Weekend

Had a great time over the weekend in Door County! This Vrbo was perfect for our group of 10 adults. We each had a semi-private space and plenty of bathrooms for everyone. We enjoyed the use of the outdoor fire pit. The doors and flooring were quite creaky late at night/early in the morning when we were awake at different times. We were thrown off by the check-in email we received when we were already in town. I wish that had been sent out earlier so I would have known about the scarcity of toilet paper and body wash and could have packed our own. Overall 4.5 stars for the space but wish communication had been better.

Amazing trip

We had such a great experience in door county this weekend! The hosts were so sweet and even left a glass cherry! The places was perfect for 11 ladies and we had everything we needed! For sure recommend this location!

Generally a very nice place

We had a wonderful time and enjoyed the cottage . A bit musty smelling but otherwise very clean. Possible fireplace ashes might have been the cause of the musty smell. We ran out of paper towels. The setting is very rustic and beautiful.

Property is lovely, both inside the cottage and outdoors. The amenities listed in the information about the property were not consistently available: no hair dryer, coffee pot didn’t work, one dish towel for 14 people for a 4 day stay, one hand towel is inadequate especially with the importance of hand washing in a pandemic. We’d have liked a mixer in the kitchen and some large serving bowls. Ants were a problem in the kitchen.

Loved our stay!

The only thing I wish was that we could have stayed longer! The location is great and the house has a perfect setup for multiple families to enjoy time together. Loved the main living area and the cute porch. Decor is very nice! Kitchen is small but sufficient. Bedrooms have great space! The 2 1/2 bathrooms worked well. Firewood can be purchased 2 driveways down the road. The one thing that I rated lower was due to what seemed like an issue with the cleaning crew. There was a large amount of food left in the dishwasher and dead mosquitoes on the walls and a few other things like that which should have been taken care of before we arrived. We called on a broken item and the company managing the property was quick to call back. It seemed like there would be a quick response if there was an emergency to take care of. All in all, wish we had a longer stay! It’s a beautiful home on a large property with all the amenities you need!

Great Location and Cozy Cottage

We enjoyed our stay in the cottage very much. Phenomenal location. Really charming decor and plenty of space. Also appreciated all the spices in the kitchen and the sweet little gift that was left. The washer dryer also worked well and we appreciated that there was detergent. Only reason we rated the cottage four stars is because several of the mattresses are very uncomfortable and the linens, especially the towels are quite worn. The house also doesn't have a blow dryer, which is a home rental basic. Also, definitely bring bug spray, as the mosquitos are the property are terrible!
