This is our second rental, located in Nantahala, NC, both Rentals are located near each other for family gatherings or just a couples weekend away. (1st Rental VRBO #305973). Scotty completely remodeled the inside of this adorable cabin, which seems open and large with 20 ft ceilings. There is also wood burning fireplace, which gives you a cozy atmosphere, you will go home feeling relaxed after staying with us at Timberwood.
Timberwood is just minutes for the Famous Nantahala River, where thousands of Families come each year to Raft. If Fishing is your Desire, the Upper Nantahala River is just 5 minutes from the cabin. It is one of the two NC Rivers to be named in the top 100 Trout Streams Nationally, by Trout Unlimited. It is Lake Nantahala is 3 miles from the cabin, where there is a Marina as well as a Restaurant. At the Marina, you can rent Pontoons, Canoes, and Kayaks and explore the Gorgeous Mountain Lake. Another fun venture, is to hike up Silar Bald or Parts of the Historic Appalachian Trail . You can also enjoy the Beautiful Scenic three dimensional views from the top of the Acclaimed Wayah Bald. If a day trip is what you desire, we are just 90 minutes from the Iconic Biltmore House in Asheville, NC as well traveling through the Great Smokey Mountain National Park into t Gatlinburg, TN. If motorcycling is your hearts desire, Thunder Road is what they call Wayah Rd, which runs right in front of the cabin. If you are quite the daredevil, you would love to ride "The Tail of the Dragon", this route consist of 318 curves in 11 miles. It is considered " America's number one motorcycle and sports car road" connecting NC to TN. The things the Mountains has to offer is endless, we look forward to you coming and stay with us at Timberwood Cottage.

The cabin was wonderful! We enjoyed the wood burning fireplace and the hot tub! Our pup enjoyed the yard and the mountain roads! It was a wonderful Christmas getaway!

The cabin was lovely. The hot tub was only between 95 and 97 so we did not get in it. I alerted the owner and she was very responsive. The only other issue we had was getting up a very steep driveway on a rainy day. We were not aware how steep the driveway was. Wet leaves made it a little slippery. Adding some additional gravel down at the bottom might be helpful.

We had the best summer vacation here. The property itself offered so much from the hot tub, to the firepit, the sounds of the Nantahala River close by, exploring the property, enjoying all the fireflies at dusk was incredible and the night time stargazing show topped off every day. Location was also perfect, LakesEnd marina just minutes away, super fun family owned business with restaurant and water sport rentals we enjoyed it all. Nantahala Outdoor Center ( the NOC ) became the epicenter of our week, white water rafting, cornhole tournament, hiking the falls, restaurants and so much more. We also took the long drive to Gorge’s State Park to hike into Rainbow Falls and Turtle Back Falls, if you like the thrill of swimming and jumping in nature’s beauty, this is a must do adventure!The cabin has everything we needed, the two en-suite rooms were perfect, big kitchen & open floor plan made family time easy and fulfilling. There’s not an extensive amount of pots & pans but we were able to cook almost every night we were there, which was helpful because the restaurants all closed early. Basic spices in a cabinet but you’ll need to bring any foil, plastic wrap or leftover containers you might need. The host were very respectful of our time on their property and responded quickly to the only question we had.Highly recommend the house, property, location, activities and lifestyle the Nantahala area has to offer.

Perfect stay!

We stayed here for a friends wedding weekend, and it was perfect!! Barbara was wonderful to communicate with, and the cabin was beautiful. We had everything we needed, and had a fantastic stay. I definitely recommend it and would definitely stay again.

Thanksgiving weekend getaway

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, the cabin has all the essentials, easy access, level parking with an open expanse around the property. It’s close to great hiking in the Nantahala Forest- we enjoyed the fire place and hot tub to warm up after the hikes. Beds were comfy- we would definitely like to rerun here again. Great hosts!

Wonderful Cozy Cabin in Great Location

Fit our needs perfectly! Hot tub, fireplace, big/safe yard for pups, covered porches, close to our fav outdoor adventure spots. We will definitely be back to this home!

Great secluded location.

Nice large yard for our dog. The lost host Barbara was great and able to get us in a day early due to hurricane Helene. We were in the area for our sons wedding. I would highly suggest to get groceries before arriving. Towns are not close.

Awesome cabin in a great location

We really enjoyed our stay and loved the cabin. Its very nice and well furnished. Great location above the cascades put in and convient for many nearby outdoor activities. Very private and secluded with nice porches and a yard. We'd definitely stay again! Thanks to the hosts.

Nice Private cabin in the woods

The cabin is on it's own multiple acre lot and own entrance road. It is just off Wayah road, and the driveway is well maintained and although a bit steep, our low clearance Miata had no issue with the entry. It is an updated rustic cabin with top notch kitchen appliances (a pretty new kitchen remodel). We had no issues with missing any kitchen cooking or minor baking needs. Upstairs bed was a nice comfy pillow top and being a loft the bedroom felt very big. Some of the reviews mentioned barking dogs, we occasionally heard some, but were not bothered by it. We will be back.

Awesome Cabin with great amenities

My family and I very much enjoyed our stay. The cabin was exactly as described. We have stayed at Nantahala several times so we are used to some of the disadvantages in the area. (No wifi or phone, very steep driveways, no central AC etc) We had NONE of those issues at this cabin! The wifi was excellent and very fast for the area. The phone provided worked great. And the cabin was fully equipped with a great hvac system. The property is beautiful and is really well kept. The grass in the yard is better than mine at home! The kids had space to run and play ball. In the evening they ran around chasing fireflies (I've never seen so many). We will definitely check this cabin first for our future trips!

Amazingly peaceful

The cabin was totally beautiful, secluded, and peaceful. Pictures on the web don't do it justice.Everything was clean, and neat. I would highly recommend staying here, as we will be next year when we return.The host is extremely nice, answered every question we had, and responded quickly. If your looking the perfect mountain getaway, this is your place !

Wedding Weekend

My best friend and I stayed here for a wedding located in Nantahala. We loved the home. I loved the kitchen since I was in charge of the wedding cake. Communication with owner was top-notch, after we mistakenly ended up in the wrong place. If we ever make it back to NC, we will definitely use this place again.
