Great place to stay :)

Stayed there for a long weekend with friends. Great place to stay. A wonderful and peaceful place. Great location. Owners are very open with communication, easy to reach and very helpful with any requests or questions. Will definitely visit again when in the area.

Trumpeter swans and bald eagles

Another wonderful stay here - our third one this year. We got to watch a family of 4 beautiful trumpeter swans and a couple bald eagles from the cabin.

Fabulous! This unit has been updated. The kitchen/dining room and living room are comfortable and homey with the fireplace in the center. Our bed was very comfortable. The parking area is flat and easy to get in and out of. We enjoyed the peaceful river front and bonfire. It was hard to leave, and we hope to return next year!

Nice getaway

The Place was very large and well stocked. It was a beautiful location with views up and down the river. Lovely outdoor seating area in the backyard and front yard. It was extremely relaxing.

Wonderful Cabin

We absolutely loved this cabin!! More than we expected. Rick the owner was so nice and very informative about the area and places to eat. Such a comfy cabin. Loved every single minute we were there! The cabin was spotless and very beautiful. Had a spectacular time!!

Beautiful Spot

DASLR is a great spot to get away from things - a quiet and beautiful location and a comfortable cottage to enjoy it in. Rick is a great host. We'll be looking come back here for sure!

My wife and I had a great time. Watching the Peshtigo river flow by. The weather was perfect. We saw deer each evening and a black bear from our car. Kayaking on the river was peaceful!

Ladies' Getaway

A group of us, friends from church, have been doing a weekend away for 10 years now. This was our 3rd stay at DASLR, and it's far and away our favorite destination for these trips. Always clean, well-stocked, and very peaceful. We enjoy the view, the comfy beds and the cozy two-way fireplace. We can't wait to come back next year!

DASLR Vacation

Very clean, well maintained & comfortable cabin. Wonderful views of beautiful Peshtigo river. Kayaks and canoes provided were great for daily adventures, wildlife viewing & fishing. Family enjoyed fishing and swimming off dock and evening bonfires with firewood provided. Local waterfalls were excellent to visit. Rick was very accommodating and responsive to questions.

Perfect inspiration getaway

I spent 5 days in March sitting at the kitchen table writing and researching for my dissertation. The internet was stable and the view beautiful. The spring migration has started so it was great to see a variety of waterfowl.

Peace and quiet in a perfect setting!

Our stay at DASLR was beyond our expectations. The house was incredibly clean and beautifully decorated. A mix of new and classic cabin makes for a perfect vacation home. Even in record-high temps, the house was cool and comfortable (and the river was a great place for a cooling swim!) The house was fully appointed with everything we needed. I was especially appreciative of the quality kayaks available. I paddle often, and there is a big difference between a cheap boat and a mid-range one. We were able to meet the owner, who clearly takes pride in maintaining his beautiful properties, and he had great suggestions for eating and exploring. This is not a touristy area, but there are endless possibilities for hiking, swimming, fishing, and paddling. We saw a wide variety of wildlife, spending a lot of time riverside watching an otter, herons, loons, deer, turtles, etc. It was very quiet with few people on the river, and anyone who passed by was friendly. We couldn't have asked for a better stay.

What a great place and host

Check-in was flawless. It was just me and my hubby for our anniversary. Had a great time fishing off the pier from sun-up to sun-down. The boaters passing by were so kind. They would stop their boats and sit and talk. Some were super funny too. The house was so clean, and had everything we needed to make our stay amazing. The bed was really comfy...important.The town was a 3 minute drive and had bait, piggly wiggly to get what we needed. Rick was so kind and available to all of our questions. He is a true host and gentleman. Would love to try one of his other rentals to be able to bring our boys and our doggo. Thank you Rick, you really made our stay memorable. Truly a beautiful property.ourdoggo.
