Beautiful Year Round Historic Cabin on Big Birch Lake

Year round views like no other! Beautiful historic cozy cabin. Perfect for family holidays, couples getaways, or friends. Full front windows looking at beautiful Big Birch Lake. 40 minutes from St Cloud, 1 1/2 hours from Minneapolis, 20 minutes (9 miles) to Sauk Centre. Paved driveway and parking off of a quiet paved road. Summer fun, fall colors, winter snowmobiling, ice fishing. Any time of year is amazing! Comfy couches, nostalgic hard wood floors throughout. Two bedrooms, one bath, kitchen, dining area that seats 8. Sleeps 6 very comfortably with a queen bed, a twin over double bunk bed, a twin daybed with twin trundle, can sleep 8 with the big couch looking out at the lake. Fully stocked kitchen with stove, fridge, microwave, pots, pans, dishes, utensils, towels, coffee maker, French press, toaster, crock pot, paper towels etc. Bath towels and linens included. Minutes from Big Birch State forest with hiking and biking trails galore. Bring your boat or rent our pontoon boat. You will have a dock out front. All of the water toys like floaties, kayaks, and a lilypad are available for your fun! Bring your snowmobile or rent snowmobiles right on the lake! Great ice fishing!
We live next door and share our small beach with you. There is a breezeway connection between the two homes, but the cabin is in no way connected to our house. It is completely separate. You will have a fire pit, wood & a propane grill. If you have any requests, just ask, and we will do our best to accommodate you!

Great location on Big Birch lake

The house was great and provided everything we needed, the hosts Dawn and Rocky were great and very easy to communicate with. Definitely will be staying with them again when in the area!!

Nice cabin

A nice, clean cabin, with classic decorating touches. The double, large windows onto the lake have a great view. Great hosts. A single, small bathroom was our only drawback.

Wonderful Stay

Our family had an amazing vacation at this property. The owners went above and beyond and everything was great. I would highly recommend staying at this location/rental if you are looking for chill, relaxation, and a fun beach area and memories to be made with your family!

Great Stay!

What a relaxing stay! The cabin is just as it advertised. It had everything you needed to have a great stay. The owners next door were so kind and accommodating. We loved it!

Family vacation

We had a great vacation on Big Birch Lake. The cabin was clean and had what we needed. Everything from check in to check out went smoothly. A great place for an outdoor vacation, making memories at the lake!!

Cute, clean, convenient

Property is exactly as listed. Very clean, great view from the living room. The property owners are fast to respond to any needs, and were great to work with. The water, and beach are literally steps from the front door. If we were ever in the area again, we would definitely come back here.

Summer 2024

The cabin was clean and full of accommodations and spectacular views of the lake. Dawn and Rocky were great hosts and tended to all of our needs. The area was super quiet and peaceful. The lake was full of fish. Caught some crappie, sunny, walleye, and bass. Definite must stay again.

Great place on Big Birch Lake

This place was great. The location was excellent with a beachfront and two docks. They had a good range of small appliances and utensils. Owners were very friendly and answered any questions we had. They also let us use their camping chairs and kayak which was wonderful. We have already booked another week this year. Can’t wait to go back!

We walked into this cabin and the first words out of my mouth were “WOW!” The scenery cannot be beat, our hosts were incredibly helpful and kind, and the cabin quickly felt like a second home. Anyone who stays here will never want to leave the tranquility and peace that being here will bring you.

Perfect get away

The house was well furnished and decorated so quaintly. Even though there's a breezeway that attaches the rental to the owner's home, it was very private; basically just like any next door neighbor. The hosts were very hospitable and available, but not intrusive at all. The lakeside setting was peaceful and the big windows have a stunning view of sunsets!

Beautiful lake and sweet lodging!

Gorgeous view of a gorgeous lake. The online pictures are 100% accurate. Great for kayaking, boating, swimming (and fishing, we were told, but we don't fish). Very sweet little house, with all the comforts needed and lovely vintage touches. Dawn was an excellent hostess, friendly, helpful, and responsive, but not intrusive. Great tour of the lake in her pontoon!

Fantastic Big Birch Getaway

We had a lovely stay at this cabin! Dawn was friendly and communicative as a host. The house was clean, and had beautifully large windows that overlooked the lake. It was a fantastic view! Comfortable couches for lounging, fast wifi, and an enjoyable grassy area right outside the door for the kids to run around and play. We especially loved the little beach area and that we could use the host’s lilypad, lifejackets, and other outdoor items. Nearby in town we found some really fun playgrounds for the kids and a yummy ice cream shop. We would 100% stay here again!

View cannot be beat!

The entire backside of the property is windows overlooking the lake - what a lovely spot to sit and enjoy! Dawn could not have been easier to work with - she was quick to respond to any question I might have. The cabin is just what we needed - we rented the boat, did some fishing (there is a spot to clean fish on the side of the house), had a fire, ate outside overlooking the lake - we were only inside to sleep. The kitchen was well supplied, plenty of towels in the bathroom - there was even some beach towels situated by the back door.

Some R&R for too tired parents.

Some R&R for too tired parents. My mother lives in Melrose Minnesota and wanted to see the two grandkids. So my wife and I dropped our two boys off at my mothers and stayed at this wonderful cabin. Although it rained the whole time we were there it was such a pleasant stay. The cabin is wonderfully decorated, clean, and the views out the window of the lake are spectacular. We plan on coming back.

fishing trip

The cabin does have a dock and a fishing cleaning table with water hose. It does have a fire stick for TV etc. Dawn is the host with Rocky her husband and they were very helpful in all things. The fire pit was supplied with all the wood you wanted.

This cabin is so beautiful and ready to go for any fun or relaxing experience you have in mind! We are crazy about making sure it meets your expectations. Send me a message and ask any questions you might have. I typically respond without an hour. The state park with trails, camping, and boat landing is just a couple of miles away. The historic Rock Tavern is on the lake with access by boat for dining or drinks on the deck. We have a pontoon available for you to rent. There are snowmobile rentals right here on the lake. Ice fishing in the winter is excellent! The Wobegon trail is 6 miles away with miles and miles of bike trails to take you anywhere you want to go! We supply you with firewood for the outdoor firepit, a grill, charcoal, your own dock and fishing boat lift, a 20' lilypad float, and lawn chairs..if you are looking for more, let us know and we will do everything we can to accommodate!
