Centrally located in the tranquil Northwest Indiana Great Lakes Dunes area a marvel in itself, almost centralized to two other wonderful states lines; spacious with an abundance of natural lighting, 2 bedrooms/full kitchen and dining area, family area, fireplace, wet bar, full bathroom, and laundry room. This home away from home also has outdoor grill, fire pit, and seating, less than 3-minute walk from nature trail (walk/run/bike).

Full access to private lower level which includes everything, as well as the garage, and front Patio which also includes lawn furnishings, fire ring, and grill, less than 5-minute drive from beaches.

We really enjoyed our stay at this property, and the fact that our hosts took the extra effort in ensuring we had access to a lot of everyday essentials. We definitely plan to return to this location when next we visit.

Missing hot tu

Upon arrival, neighborhood was nice and check in easy. We were looking for a property with a hot tub which was listed as an amenity in the vrbo listing. Upon arrival we found out there was not a hot tub, very disappointed. However the property was very clean and the owner was very responsive to messages.

Property is just as listed. Very clean, attention to details and warm home touches. Loved that we could make breakfast there with the waffle maker and mix! ā¤ļø the owners gave us great directions on check in and check out. Would have loved to meet them but never saw them. Felt like we were the only ones there! Highly recommend this place for your northern IN stay! Very close to the dunes and sweet little towns.

Very nice and well appointed unit. Itā€™s the basement of a single family home, but it has a separate entrance so itā€™s very private. Our hosts, Reg and LaJewel, were away while we were there but they were very communicative before and after our arrival to ensure we had everything we needed. They even let us use their garage which was greatly appreciated. The location was very convenient for a beach day at Indiana Dunes Park (with traffic, it was about a 15 min drive). Great stay!

Perfectly perfect- will definitely be back!

We loved our stay at this beautiful home! Reginald & LeJewel thought of everything and made us feel so at home! EVERYTHING in the home is comfortable, tasteful, inviting and spotless! The location was convenient for visiting the Indiana Dunes State & National Parks. We had a wonderful time & will definitely be back!

Ideal space for family outing

My husband, young daughter and mother-in-law stayed here while visiting Indiana Dunes, and we had a wonderful experience. We brought our bikes and loved biking on the paths throughout the area to the dunes and other places. Chesterton is an awesome town, and the property was clean, nice and had everything we could have needed. It was awesome to have full access to the garage to store our bikes and to come and go with them.

Weekend with Friends

We spent a long weekend to explore the Dunes area. This location is a full two bedroom apartment in the lower level of the owners home. The neighborhood is very quiet and the home is very well cared for. The hosts went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed. We were even allowed to park our car in the garage. The apartment was very comfortable and feels like home. We would definitely stay with Reggie & LaJewell again! Thank You!

Weekend stay

If you are considering this property to stay at and choose not to, you are making a huge mistake! The apartment is in the lower level of a lovely home in a quiet residential neighborhood. They allowed for one car in the garage. The decor is modern and tasteful and beds extremely comfortable. There is a fully equipped kitchen with more than anyone could possibly need. The linens were hotel quality and the towels soft and thick. We never saw the owners but they texted us to make sure all was well - and it was! They even put up a Christmas tree for us. Nice touch! Thanks for a great holiday stay. Maybe we will see you again next year if Christmas is in Valpo.

Wedding Weekend

Reggie and LaJewel were amazing host! They were very quick to respond with any questions that we had and we had the pleasure of meeting Reggie. Very nice man and very welcoming! The property looks just like the pictures. Super clean and feels just like home. The decor is very nice! We will definitely rent this property again. Thank you!

Perfect in every way

The owner was great at communicating in advance about the space, amenities and area dining options. We were wowed from the start by having access to park in their garage. Thatā€™s a first for us. They provided a digital key code so we could come and go as we pleased. The home is newer construction in a quiet neighborhood. When you first enter the space it is open and spacious with attractive design elements. The table was set with table cloth and place settings that made it feel especially welcoming. Weā€™d shared in advance that this was our anniversary trip and the owner had a complimentary bottle of wine on ice waiting for us. That was another wow moment! It is a tri-level and the rental area is in the lower level, converted to a separate entry, with two bedrooms, full kitchen, full bath, living and dining areas. Even though itā€™s in a lower level itā€™s well lit with large windows throughout. The bedrooms and bath are all large. The bedrooms are carpeted and the main kitchen and living spaces are plank flooring. Everything is modern and contemporary. The kitchen had plenty of counter space and was reasonably stocked with cooking implements. There is a Keurig style coffee maker (Hamilton Beach brand) that also makes full pots of coffee if preferred. They provided a variety of coffee pods as well. There were also small creamer containers, tea, honey and sweeteners provided. There were large screen tvs in each bedroom and the living area. There is a gas fireplace that turns on instantly and was fun to enjoy sitting on the hearth. Bedding and towels were provided. The owner family resides upstairs but our stay was quiet, and aside from friendly interactions through the VRBO app we never saw or spoke to them in person. We came to the area to visit the Indiana Dunes national park. It was just 9 minutes to the visitor center. The park was beautiful and had many points of interest to see over our two day stay. From one point on the beach you could just make out the city of Chicago on the distant horizon, but the sandy beach was just like being at the ocean, complete with low surf like you might see on the Gulf coast. We ate at a local restaurant called Lucrezia Cafe run by an award winning chef. Amazing! The weather in September was warm and we ate on a brick patio under shade trees wrapped in lights in the charming town of Chesterton. We couldnā€™t have been happier with our stay. Highly recommended!

Great host in a perfect location.

Our family enjoyed our time in Lake Michigan largely do to the wonderful accommodation. Reginald and Jewel checked in with us often and provided great restaurant recommendations. We would stay here again when we return to Laje Michigan!

NP trips

Spent a few days at Indiana Dunes NP with our 2 grandsons, ages 10 & 15. This apt was an excellent location to all of the park and local amenities. Quiet, peaceful neighborhood. Comfortable, clean apt with all that one needs-stocked kitchen appliances, towels, extra blankets, cushions for sleeping on floor, soap & shampoo, even beverages for purchase. Had a great time!
