A really relaxing and lovely stay. Pat and Adrian were the stars. So friendly, and happy to help with their local knowledge on what was going on locally and good restaurants to visit. The pool was fantastic in the hot weather, and the sleeping arrangements are flexible, which helps with a family. I can wholeheartedly recommend anyone to stay here. It suited us perfectly as a family, and we'd happily return without hesitation. Thank you, Pat and Adrian, for making it such an easy and enjoyable break.

Perfect base

This was a great gite and all you could need was provided. Pat and Adrian helped with any questions and recommendations and there's alot to see within a 30 minute drive. We loved our stay. Thanks.

La Borderie you were amazing, we have had fantastic family time in the stone house with fab hosts Adrian and Pat nearby, we miss them already. The house and surrounding are so clean and well looked after. Kitchen has everything you need and more… honestly I don’t even have some of utensils or else Pat took care off to have in the spacious kitchen. The house is very beautiful and quirky with all the wooden beams , chimney, mezzanine and decor to suit. Plenty of space to rest and relax as well as store your clothes and necessities. It even has utility room with washing machine, iron, etc… Bathroom with double sinks and walk-in shower, separate WC. Bedrooms are spacious and comfortable beds are bonus. Outdoor has plenty of seating areas, by the house immediately, where we spent some evenings, relaxing in the moon light and quietness of the area, as well as table and chairs by the BBQ area which you have a choice of doing it on the gas bbq or traditional wood oven , all there for us to use. The last but not least is the outdoor heated swimming pool, fabulous and we were in it every day. Cleaned and checked by the host every morning, sun loungers and swimming equipment ready to use. We absolutely loved it, everything about the house and hosts was perfect and nothing was to much if we asked for recommendations for restaurants or places to go Adrian had it done within minutes. They were fantastic, helped with lifts , car trouble or emergencies. We love you and your beautiful place.

Peace perfect peace

We would like to say a huge thankyou to Pat and Adrian for making us so welcome lovely people. The house catered for all our needs. And was a great escape from the heat and it did get hot ! The pool is lovely... and we needed it to cool off. Beautiful countryside and views and so peaceful. Must mention the fresh cherries..very tasty. If you want to de-stress and get away from the hustle and bustle of daily life, look no further than here, really worth a visit

Great week in the Charente

We stayed for a week, 7 of us staying in the gite including 3 kids. It's a charming property adorned with flowers and beautifully presented - the pictures don't quite do it justice in fact! Lots of space around the grounds, and impeccably clean throughout. Lots of nice touches around the accommodation and very complete. Pat and Adrian were there to welcome us and on hand in case any questions came up. They are a class act and a big part of the amazing week we had in the Charente. Would definitely recommend this place.

Superb

Absolutely fantastic property - very peaceful & quiet and wonderful owners. Our little girl fell ill on the way to France and Adrian went with us to A&E and to see local GP (both during the weekend). Honestly, the owners couldn't be more helpful. Both Adrian & Pat are the loveliest people you'll ever meet. Thank you so much both for everything, we are forever grateful to you and we hope to come back again next year. Thank you for the memories. Much love x

August 2024

What a fabulous place. I completely understand why previous visitors have returned to this property multiple times. Pat and Adrian were extremely welcoming but in no way invasive during our stay. They gave us lots of ideas of things to do during our stay. There are plenty of restaurants a short drive away in Montbron, Angouleme and Piegut. A particular favourite of ours was Aux Caprices, opposite the Intermarche in Montbron. There are great swimming lakes close by eg Lac de St Estephe. The road cycling here is fabulous with a voie verte very close to the house. The memorial in Aradour is well worth a visit. The weather was fabulous ranging between 27 - 33oC with a bit of a breeze. I cannot recommend this place enough if you are looking for a peaceful place to holiday but with lots to do close by, only a short car journey away. Pat and Adrian are fabulous.

Parfait

J'ai réservé ce cottage pour mon fils et ses 3 amis. Pat et Adrian ont été très réactifs pour répondre aux x questions que je leur ai posées avant le séjour. Les 4 garçons ont été accueillis très chaleureusement. Ils ont adoré le cottage et les divers aménagements dont la superbe piscine chauffée. Tout s'est très bien déroulé. Je recommande donc, de la part de mon fils, cette superbe location pour un séjour tranquille dans la campagne charentaise :+)

Très belle location au calme

Nous avons passé une excellente semaine en famille dans cette belle location au calme. Il y avait tout dans la maison(cuisine très bien équipé...) La piscine chauffée super pour passer de bon moment a bronzer. Des hôtes très gentils mais dommage qu'on ne parlait pas anglais pour faciliter la communication. Je conseil cette location.

Relaxing stay in an idyllic rural setting

This is the first time we have stayed at the same property twice, which says it all really! Lovely little gîte in such a gorgeous setting - so quiet and peaceful - beautiful views out over the fields. The only other property in sight is the owner's. Pool is fantastic, and very safe with the fence. Cottage has everything you need. Owners are great - friendly and helpful whenever you need anything, but not at all intrusive. There is plenty to do - some great, safe cycle rides on the nearby voie vert route, some caves to visit, a great market at Piegut, nearby chateaux etc. Montbron is nearby and has great supermarche and some nice little restraunts. We enjoyed our second visit even more than our first one!

Another amazing stay at this beautiful place

This was our second time here, I’ve never ever stayed at the same place more than once and always have tried somewhere new but this place is just perfect and ticks all our boxes. There is everything you could possibly need here, any utensil you name it it’s here! Pat and Adrian are the perfect hosts and help with anything you need. Can’t wait to come back again

Un havre de paix dans une belle maison en pierres

A recommander

Accueil très chaleureux par Adrian et Pat très discrets et gentils pendant tout notre séjour L'environnement est top (entouré de champs, forêt) donc super calme Le bien est tout aussi confortable et hyper équipé en matériels de cuisine 2 barbecues (un au gaz et un au charbon de bois) Un espace extérieur très large et la piscine sécurisée. Nous avons occupé à la fois la maison et le studio. Côté sympathique le poulailler et une cane que nous nourrissions tous les jours de nos épluchures de légumes 🤣🤣🤣 un plaisir ! Nous gardons donc un très bon souvenir de notre séjour. PS : partant chaque année au mois d'août avec Abritel dans des locations de ce style c'est la 1ere fois que je vois à notre disposition à notre arrivée autant de fournitures de papier toilettes, du Sopalin et une batterie de cuisine aussi fournie) Merci encore à Adrian et à Pat pour se séjour. Je recommande vivement ce bien.

Jolie maison en pleine campagne

Logement très bien équipé, conforme à la description. Patricia et Adrian sont des hôtes discrets mais très attentionnés. Le lieu est paisible, la piscine très belle. Dommage que la météo maussade nous ait empêché d'en profiter pleinement :( Je recommande vivement ce logement !

Séjour très agréable, nous reviendrons

Très belle maison typique charentaise avec jardin et piscine privée et sécurisée. Tout est propre. La maison est parfaitement équipée. Nous n'avons manqué de rien. nice stay

Beautiful cottage and quiet location, where really everything is present as at home. The owners are friendly and very helpful, yet discreet. Who wants a carefree vacation and wants to relax is definitely in the right place. Despite the bad weather during our vacation we were still able to enjoy the heated pool. Definitely a must.

Bel endroit très calme. Maison, piscine et jardin exactement comme sur les photos. Les propriétaires étant les seuls voisins, ils restent très disponible. Les commerces sont à 5 min en voiture mais peu ouvert. Nous étions 4 adultes et 3 enfants de 2 à 4 ans, pas de jeux à proximité pour les enfants en bas âge .... Tout était bien sauf la literie à changer peut-être...

Excellent séjour à la Borderie

Nous sommes venus entre amis pour une semaine, le séjour a été parfait. La maison est bien équipée (cuisine et ustensiles, mobilier d'extérieur, transat, barbecue..), la piscine chauffée est très agréable, et la grande terrasse couverte proche cuisine est très pratique ! Les propriétaires sont à côté de la maison mais très discrets, tout en étant à l'écoute et disponibles si nécessaire. Merci pour ce séjour, et aux suivants : allez-y les yeux fermés !

Just got back to the UK after a perfect week at this property!

Pat and Adrian were the perfect hosts, they provided us with everything we needed for a well deserved break! It was nice knowing that Pat was there when we needed her especially given the COVID situation We have never been back to the same place more than once but are alreadt looking at dates for next year!

Endroit très calme, piscine très agréable, il y avait tous les ustensiles nécessaires, niveau matériel il ne manque rien. Pour des vacances entre amis Avec voiture c’était très bien. Nous recommandons !
