This detached, Grade II listed former Arkwright's mill conversion in Cromford can sleep up to eighteen people in nine bedrooms.

The Malthouse is a wonderful conversion of Arkwright’s, Grade II listed former mill in Cromford. The cottage is detached and offers nine bedrooms with their own TVs with Freeview and a DVD player. These include a super king-size double with en-suite, two twin rooms, and a family bathroom on the lower ground floor, two king-size doubles and a twin on the ground floor with their own en-suite shower rooms, and a super king-size double, and two twin rooms on the first floor. Offering brilliant flexibility, all four twin rooms have zip/link beds. There is a family bathroom with a luxurious slipper bath, and three kitchens, one of which is on the first floor, and the other with a large, social dining area. There are also three sitting rooms, again one of which is on the ground floor and one on the first floor. Outside, there is a front courtyard with furniture, a rear lawned garden overlooking the mill pond with a patio and furniture, and off road parking for eight cars.

Three range gas ovens and hobs, microwaves, fridges, freezers, fridge/freezer with ice maker, washer/dryers, dishwashers, 11 x TVs with Freeview, DVD, iPod dock, CD, Nintendo Wii with games, WiFi, selection of books, games, toys and DVDs. Fuel and power inc. in rent. Bed linen and towels inc. in rent. Cot and highchair. Off road parking for 4 cars at the front and 4 at the rear. Front patio with furniture. Large rear lawned garden with patio, furniture and BBQ. Sorry, no pets and no smoking. Shops and pubs 4 mins walk. Note: Property is next to the mill pond, children to be supervised. Cromford is known as the 'cradle of the Industrial Revolution' and attractions in and around the village reflect this. One of these is Cromford Mill, which has been fully restored and is now designated as a World Heritage Site. The village has three public houses and a variety of shops, however for more amenities the towns of Matlock and Matlock Bath are close by. Other attractions in the area include Gulliver's Kingdom family theme park, Chatsworth House and many more. This area has much to offer and makes a great base for a holiday.

Great stay for a big group with kids

We were a friends reunion of 13 adults and 4 kids under 4 - excellent place! Big enough and thick walls that grown ups having dinner/drink after kids bedtime was fine. Lovely and clean throughout. The garden has a huge pond with weir so need constant supervision but it's only accessible out the front door and not visible from inside the house, so v easy to keep kids inside when necessary..

We loved the Malthouse and had a great time with the family all together. Hosts very welcoming, the property well located, clean and equipped. However the dishwashers didn't wash dishes well and the bottom shelves are awkward to pull in and out. There were quite a few wasps around and one of us got stung so there must be a nest. A rat was spotted in the house. We thought we should be dealing with Vrbo for everything so were disappointed that we had to get the Sykes app and make contact through them.
