This completely renovated Cabin is right on the water of pristine Durphee Lake.
Our "Cabernet Cabin" is the perfect Northwoods escape.
Owners live next door. We are here to help with anything you might need while respecting your privacy.
Cute and charming are the two words heard when guests walk in. One bedroom with queen bed and full bath on main level. Living room opens to the lake with your own dock.
Large loft area with balcony overlooking lake has one king bed and one queen bed. Great fun area for kids or kids at heart.
A secret hiding place for kids has been built under the stairs complete with toys for young children.
Anglers Haven Resort and Restaurant is within walking distance and is a great place to enjoy food and drink. You can call for take out or dine on their deck overlooking LCO Lake.

This was hands down one of our most memorable and enjoyable trips north. The lake was perfect swimming depth for children and the waters were calm, not a lot of wake traffic like the larger lakes in Hayward. The cabin was beautiful and clean. Everything we needed as far as kitchen utensils and appliances, which was important to us to cook our own meals during our stay. Kathleen and Steve were wonderful hosts and great conversation. They really treated our children well, bringing out extra items for them to play in the water and allowing them to play in the play cottage. Sunrises were beautiful and fishing was fantastic. We plan to return in a couple of months!

Great stay just feet from the lake. Our cottage had the wonderful feel of what you’d expect staying in northern Wisconsin. Our hosts were most attentive to any needs that might arise. Eagles flew right over, loons treating us to their songs, very quiet setting. Kayaked around Durphee Lake and into the neighboring Schoolhouse Lake. Other lakes close by. Area is great if you like to walk. Convenient 10 minute ride to Hayward with a great northwoods vibe. Beautiful summer sunrises from our cottage if you get up early.

Cozy cabin bya quiet lake

We had a wonderful stay in the Northwoods at the Cabernet Cabin! It's on a great spot on a quiet lake. The cabin is clean and cozy. The owners Kathleen and Steve are very friendly and welcoming. Lots to do and see in the area - it's an easy drive into Hayward for shopping and dining. A great escape from city life!

Couldn't of stayed anywhere better.

Steps from the lake, 10 min from Hayward, a perfect getaway. We could not of asked for a better place to stay. We were greeted with a smile and any help we needed was taken care of promptly. We're definitely coming back.

Family Trip

We had a great time together as a family. The boys enjoyed fishing and my husband and I enjoyed relaxing. We wished there was a larger bed in the bedroom, but there isn't a lot of space. Good times were had by all. We also enjoyed our meal at Angler's Haven.

Magical!

Everything about our stay at the Cabernet Cabin was perfect! My sister and I and our elderly mother found the accommodations clean, well stocked and very comfortable. Kitchen supplies/utensils were useful, great views of the peaceful lake, gorgeous sunrises from the loft bedroom, we really couldn’t have asked for a better stay! We all slept soundly in the cozy beds and quiet surroundings. Our hosts were thoughtful and responsive - really kind people that obviously take a lot of pride in this home. We would 100% recommend and hope to stay here again in the future!

Loved the Cabernet Cabin

The Cabernet cabin was perfect for our family- our girls ran out and jumped in the water each morning, and love the bonfire at night. Kathleen and Steve were so kind and welcoming. It's was great stay, and we plan to come back!

Amazing lake house!

The house is just as advertised. It was so cozy and clean and beautifully decorated. And the fact that it’s right on the water (and I mean RIGHT on the water!) was a terrific bonus!

Amazing Summer Getaway!

My family and I had an awesome experience at the Cabernet Cabin! The views were incredible, especially while enjoying coffee on the deck. Being right on the lake was perfect. The hosts were very nice people! Would definitely stay again.

Cranberry Fest

Perfect place to stay and go into Stone Lake for the Cranberry Fest. My sisters and mother stayed here. Cabin was laid out excellent for our family. Owners were great and Anglers Haven across the road for dinner was a added plus. I would definitely recommend this cabin!!!!!!

Just fine

We stayed at this property for my bachelorette party. The property was nice and the view was great. It was too cold unfortunately to go in the lake, but there was a nice dock and it would have been nice to swim if we could have. What was a little strange was that the owners live right next door and were a little intrusive on our stay. The wife would knock on our door and then came and talked with us by the fire after we built it while she was drinking saying “I know I shouldn’t intrude but I’m going to”. There were also spider webs on all the light fixtures.
