Come stay in this unique hexagon-shaped cottage on Harbor Springs Road! Shady Lake Hideaway sets atop JAMESTOWN Marina, Lake Cumberland, KY. A convenient 2 MILE drive by road to JAMESTOWN MARINA and Lakers Tap & Grill, live music, boat rentals, fuel & store. Located 5 minutes across the water is Lake Cumberland STATE DOCK. 4 MILES to the CENTER of TOWN and 2 MILES from LILY CREEK Boat Ramp. With a one-of-a-kind appeal and ideal location, this cottage was built for enjoying time with friends and family...and PET FRIENDS as well.

🌳Shady Lake Hideaway offers quick and easy access to LAKE CUMBERLAND and local and hiking spots. The 60 FOOT BOAT DRIVEWAY on the property allows for BOAT PARKING in addition to the main driveway as seen in photos.
All 3 QUEEN BEDROOMS have their own bathroom. Yep! 3 FULL BATHROOMS=amazing find! An additional sofa bed is located on the lower level.

This hexagon-shaped cottage is truly unique. Lovingly called "the nut house" (as in hexagonal nuts and bolts) by the road's veteran residents, the cottage has an open concept UPPER-level that includes 2 bedrooms with QUEEN beds. Both bedrooms have an attached bathroom. The upper-level bedroom 1 (sleeps 2) has an attached shower. Bedroom 2 (sleeps 2) has an attached shower/tub combo.

The FULLY EQUIPPED KITCHEN allows for home cooking with all major appliances, cookware, dishes and utensils. The bar height table seats 6-8 people with the expandable leaf found under the table. A live edge breakfast bar seats an additional 2. The upper-level conversation area has board games and a Smart TV with access to the GRILL DECK and outdoor seating/eating area.

The LOWER-level doors open to a welcoming FIRE PIT with Adirondack chair seating where one can roast s'mores, share stories and play a game of corn toss.
The lower-level POOL TABLE, Smart TV, and JBL PartyBox allow for an evening of kick-back and relax after a hard day of play. You will find the Bedroom 3 (sleeps 2) QUEEN, FULL bathroom with shower, sleeper sofa (sleeps 2), and laundry room on the lower-level.

Nestled amongst the tall trees of Kentucky's scenic outdoors, you'll agree after your stay that life is better at the lake!

Due to the steep and rocky shoreline, there is no direct lake access from the cottage.
The street has views of Jamestown Marina below.

Stayed for Christmas with my family. Love that the property had a Christmas tree for us to enjoy during our stay. Perfect accommodations for my 23 month old, and a space for mom and dad to go after he went down for bedtime to hangout awhile before bed. Very pet friendly. Fully equipped kitchen and we always love Reel Java being nearby. Perfect holiday vacation home

This place had everything we need!! Very clean beds , everything clean and tidy . Our only issue was the spiral staircase . If you’re not a small person you will have a hard time getting up and down the stairs, so you will have to go outside and walk around the house to get to bottom floor . We would choose to stay here again as long as the price is right . Super easy communication with the owner !
Brought our own paddle boards and went to Lily boat ramp 5 min from the house
We had a fire every night . Great time

Cottage was perfectly spacious for our family. Amenities were well appointed, with everything you could need to get started. Loved the peaceful atmosphere of the wooded area. We played pool, enjoyed the chest of games, and visited the marina for a pontoon ride. Perfect getaway for fall break and we would love to visit again! Host had everything laid out and explained everything we would need during our stay. Easy check in and out!

Very clean and well stocked with everything you need for a long stay. Manager was easy to deal with and pleasant. Everything worked and no issues at all. Thanks for letting my Family stay. We are campers and this was our first time trying this.

We enjoyed the property and being so close to the boat launch at Jamestown Marina. The house was well appointed and Suzanne quickly responded to and fixed a very minor item regarding the grill not working properly. Would definitely recommend the property!

Overall we had a nice stay here. The extra driveway made it easy to park our boat which was a big reason for picking this property. The road is a bit narrow, so go slow.

Playing on the Lake

Suzanne was a great host. She answered all of our questions promptly before our stay. Once we started our stay, there was no need to contact her. Everything was good! We started our mornings with breakfast at the house, played on the water and then back for supper and relaxing at the house again. We have 3 boys ages 13,14 and 16. They enjoyed their own space in the basement play pool, listening to music on the big speaker and watching TV. We also discovered the board game Chameleon in the game chest. We all laughed and had fun playing the game. On the water we surfed, wakeboard, skied, and tubed. We put in at Lily Creek Launch everyday. It was minutes away. Jamestown Marina is also very close to put a boat in. Our favorite spot to float was Sid Bell Falls. We swam and the boys jumps off the ledges. We also visited 76 falls, the dam, and submarine island. One morning we went fishing with Stevens Guide Service. We caught 36",33", 29" and 28" stripe bass and some we had to throw back. We love spending time on Lake Cumberland and would stay at this house again!

The cabin is an excellent property for families. Our grandkids (15, 16 & 17) loved the space and the 3 full bathrooms were great. My daughter commented that the layout is a perfect use of space. Everything you needed was provided by the owner with meticulous attention to detail. The parking for the Seadoo trailer was an added bonus. We rented a boat from Jamestown and the location was perfect! One of our favorites on the lake is Rowena Marina - their food is awesome and staff very friendly. The State Dock restaurant is another good place for food and beverage.

Family getaway

Summer family vacation on the lake! We love this cute home. It is perfect for our grown family to gather. We spend most of the day on the lake, so this place is close to the lake and has plenty of space for us in the evenings.

Looking for a place to get away from it all, I purchased 🌳Shady Lake Hideaway in June of 2020. Whether my family and I are spending the day tubing, knee boarding, water skiing, fishing, or simply raft floating in the beautiful jade waters of Lake Cumberland, we always enjoy coming back to the cottage to relax, hang by the fire, grill some eats, roast some marshmallows and play a few games before sleeping that deep sleep you get after having a hard day of play.
Being the daughter of an elite Army Ranger, I have had an upbringing that has allowed me to live in different states and countries. No matter where my family and I travel, the simple beauty found amongst nature has always been our most memorable adventures. I believe life is about moments...even the mishaps add to the adventure!

I started water skiing when I was in junior high school and many summers were spent on the waters of Lake Cumberland boating and tubing. I grew up and came back with my own family. I toured Jamestown and this cottage with my husband and children. All of my kids liked this property. When we lived in Germany we also lived in a hexagon shaped house. One-of-a-kind seems to catch our attention. Sometimes life is that simple. There was a bidding war and my youngest son told me what he thought the offer should be so we looked like we meant business. My oldest son clinched the deal by choosing our final counter-offer. All 3 kiddos helped choose the name to describe the property. It has been a family affair from the beginning. Some places just have that good vibe! It's just that simple.

O que faz essa propriedade ser única?

🌳Shady- The shade from Kentucky's surrounding forest is a huge benefit to the property. Past noon, most of the property is covered in shade and this is the reason why it was incorporated into the name of the property.
🌳Lake- Don't be mistaken, I was drawn to Harbor Springs Drive because it is a stone's throw from the Jamestown Marina. The convenience is top-notch. Life is better at the lake.
🌳Hideaway- The way the cottage and the outdoor spaces fit into the land around it, gives the cottage a comfortable and protected feel. Some of the veteran residents of Harbor Springs Drive have said that the cottage has been called "the nut house", as in hexagonal nuts and bolts, and simply the hexagon house. Either way, it's the only house of this shape on the street. It is our hideaway to get away from it all and enjoy our time together.
