Our hotel is located off Highway 180 East, two miles from the Mineral Wells Municipal Airport and near many of the area's top attractions. I stayed two nights here for the Thanksgiving weekend trip. The staff is friendly and the location is convenient to highway and such. The breakfast option is grab and go but it is a good selection. The pool requires a reservation which isn’t a problem itself but the water was so so cold which is not usable. The staff told us that the water was supposed to be 95 while we guess like 70F. There is no elevator and it is not a problem for us. The toilet in room 210 is leaking slightly into the bowl constantly.

Good location and clean rooms

The hotel was older but it was very clean. The location was grear and just off I5. Probably needs a bit more parking but otherwise i was happy with it.

Loved our stay!

The young man who checked us in was very kind and helpful. The room was quiet. The accommodation was great. The microwave and refrigerator worked very well for us.

This hotel is older and definitely was a cost effective option for a trip where we just needed to rest our heads between adventures. There was one night with extremely loud, thumping music playing until nearly 5am and I wasn't too happy about this. I would like to mention that the staff and general manager were wonderful! They went above and beyond to assure we were helped with breakfast options and even set us up with travel bags with snacks and water for our trip home. This was unexpected and rare for a lower cost option.

It smelled like smoke and dogs. You have to make an appointment for the pool, only one family at a time. Don’t touch the breakfast bar without asking. They have a special routine. The extra blanket had holes in it.

The place that i choose to reserve had no rooms available becuase somebody thinks its a funny thing to send over the hold request morning of the requested day instead of two weeks ago when the reservation was made.

Property was not very clean. Poor vacuuming as pet hair was evident on the floor. Extra bath towels were not available in the room and had to be requested from the front desk. Breakfast was only a grab and go brown bag arrangement.

You get what you pay for.

Cheap for the area but: no closet, tiny TV, no comfortable chair or desk chair, no room service, flimsy towels and too few towels, and whimpy pillows. And more, I just don't want to think of that place again. If you can afford to pay more this is the time to do that!

All the amenities were out of order. Domestic dispute in parking lot. Ants all over in the room. Trash all over the property. The room next to me was a long term stay and they had at least 3 cats, I seen them in the window. The entire hallway smelt of cat urine so bad I got a headache. No window screens so I couldn’t open the window for fresh air. This place was not what I expected.

Room Reserved and Paid for Not as Promised

The rental that I reserved stated that I would have 3 beds, 2 Queens and 1 King. The staff couldn't find my reservation at first. Upon me pulling it up on my phone they finally found it and I confirmed that my room would have the 3 beds. The room that I was given only had the 2 Queen beds:( I was in a rush to get to the event I was attending and did not have the time to go back to the front desk and start the whole process over so I just made due with the wrong room.

NO WORKING TOILET IN MY ROOM

Didn't even provide basic needs. I was traveling alone with my young daughter and when we checked in around 4pm our toilet wasn't working. They told me they had no one to fix it the rest of the day/night and that I could come get a plunger from the office and try to fix it myself! They didn't offer to move rooms and we ended up going without a toilet all night! I left in the morning without staying the second night I had already paid upfront for. I may be way off here, but I feel that a toilet is a basic hotel room need!!! I complained to VRBO and Red Lion and both parties did nothing. Terrible. Also, just another really bad part about this place is that the reason we picked this place was because it had an indoor pool and hot tub/sauna. WRONG, it has NO HOT TUB (been boarded up for over a year), NO SAUNA (bolted shut), and the so-called indoor pool is NOT HEATED but does have plenty of dead bugs and spiders for your enjoyment. It was so cold we couldn't bear it (and met other guests who had the same complaint). Worst experience I've had at a hotel. Skip this and don't believe the accuracy of listings on VRBO.

Property advertised as two bedrooms when it was not. People up all hours of the night making all kinds of noise. Broken fixtures. Rude staff. Do not waste your money!

This stay was garbage! They could not find my reservation...20 minutes later they finally gave me keys to my room only to call me and wake me up at 7:30 the next morning to tell me they still had not resolved the booking issue and threatened to call the police on me. The tv didnt work, the customer service was disgraceful...complete garbage!

Not accurately represented on VRBO

All the office people at the property have been very nice, and understanding. Unfortunately, I was under the impression I was paying for 2 rooms, because on the app it says 2 BEDROOOMS but when I got to the property with my elderly mother at midnight, I was informed that I would only be getting 1 room with 2 beds. I'm not sure if the property or VRBO is to blame for that error.. anyhow, mom and I ended up only staying that one night since it was so late and we were tired, and then the next 3 nights we booked 2 separate rooms elsewhere. We didn't book another room at Red Lion for a few reasons. First, our room was up quite a few stairs and my mom wouldn't be able to take them multiple times a day. Secondly, we were not impressed with the cleanliness of our room. My bed sheets were stained, the lamp between the beds was old, cracked and turning brown, the towels looked like they'd been in use for 30 years and were not soft at all, and there was a questionable red stain on the carpet. I took a shower when we got to the room, and was greeted by a glob of dark hair on the shower wall. I think instead of cutting costs by not replacing things that need to be retired(sheets, towels, lamps, etc), invest more in guest satisfaction to get people coming back, and leaving positive reviews!
