Nestled in the amazing coastal community of Leucadia Encinitas, this neighborhood is one of the true gems in San Diego! With amazing beaches and restaurants in walking distance the vacation of your dreams is up to you and your family. Located next to Stone Steps beach and in between the famous Moonlight and Beacons beaches you have all sorts of options for sun, surf, and sand! Within 20/30 minutes you have access to Lego Land, the Zoo, Balboa Park, Wild Animal Park, Wineries, micro breweries, the convention center and much much more! The grassy front yard or the recently turfed backyard includes a kids playhouse and tons of toys to keep the kids entertained! So you can just sit back and relax as the yard is begging for your entertainment with an outdoor tv and a built-in grill and kamado joe combination along with a fridge. The converted garage has panoramic doors to open it up so you can enjoy a workout, yoga, gazebo style office, kids game room, or just a little more shade for post beach activities. Please note: we no longer have a trampoline.

Leucadia beach house

This property is in a prime location! We loved the ease and walk ability to all our favorite spots! Dan the owner was exceptional at communicating and assisting in all our needs. Our kids enjoyed the outside living so much and all the fun toys. The house is quant and cozy with all the things we needed. Grateful for the sweet family who owns this home!

Great place to stay for a family!

Great place and well furnished for anyone traveling with kids. There’s a play area and bedroom with everything you’d need for kids at most ages. That said the place was equally as well furnished for us adults. We enjoyed being able to walk to a bunch of food options and there’s a ton to do just a short drive away. All in all, great place. One thing is that looks like listing says there’s a hot tub, but there is not. Not an issue at all. The place was amazing and check in was easy as can be!

Amazing home - perfect location and great for kids!

We had an incredible stay, the home was perfect, the location was ideal and the amenities (toys and beverages!!) were top-notch! It is such a great location for kids, with tons of fun toys that kept my two kids busy and happy. Communication with our host was seamless, we will for sure come back!!

Great location!

Perfect location for walking to the beach and grabbing dinner on 101. We rarely used a car and walked everywhere. Excellent communication with Dan who owns the place. Prompt replies. Overall a great experience.

A perfect beach house getaway

My family stayed here for several days during spring break and it was everything that we needed and more. We had our toddler son with us and he was a huge fan of the all the toys and activities that kept him busy and happy. The location is situated near the coffee shop which is always a plus. The host couldn’t have been any more accommodating and made us feel so welcome. We will be coming back again soon!

Perfect for both us and our kids!

This was a perfect stay for us (husband/wife) and our 2 kids (8 and 4). We wanted a fenced-in property because our 4 year old is fast and wild. Property has plenty of toys and activities for the kids, including a garage that's been converted into a play room. We loved walking to the 2 local beaches! A bonus was watching baseball games on their outdoor TV and soaking in the sun. Would recommend this rental!

Easy stay for families

Lots of space for our child to play and good property layout. Loved that we could walk to morning coffee and restaurants. The beach access closest to the house was closed during our visit and moonlight beach was covered in rocks, leaving very little sand by the water to set up for the day. We drove to Cardiff which was much better. Only thing that would make this property better would be access to the parking pad at the back of the property, as street parking was tricky a few times.

Encinitas Stay

The True family was the MOST accommodating hosts for our stay in Encinitas. They made sure we were comfortable and went over and above to provide a great stay for our family. Highly recommend the location as its walking distance to town and just steps from the beach. The house was extremely clean and better than advertised. I cannot recommend this stay enough, had an amazing time and the hosts were incredible!

Great neighborhood place.

Dan was great and very accomodating and responsive to our needs. We walked or biked to nearly all our meals and beaches close by were not over crowded. Neighborhood had a great vibe.

Quiet and homey. Loved it!

Excellent choice for a young family. Yard is completely enclosed. 5 minute walk to Stone Steps and stocked with everything you need for kids and beach fun.

Great place!

Dan's place is a gem in the Encinitas area. It's great for anyone looking to spend some time in the area, but particularly great for families. The main house is cute, comfortable, and clean, and the additional outdoor play room is a great bonus of the property. Dan is thoughtful, responsive host with a lot of great local knowledge of the area. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

Amazing, Family-friendly Stay!

This property had everything that my wife and I and our children (3.5-years and 8 weeks) could want. The space is very functional with great sight-lines and separation of play space from the kitchen/bedrooms; our 3.5-year-old had almost too many toys and costumes to play with; the neighborhood was accessible, but not noisy; and amazing Moonlight Beach was just a 15min walk away (made easier by the wagon provided on the property). Moreover, the outdoor space on the property was both kid-friendly and had more than enough space for adults to chat, socialize, and relax. Really, as someone who struggles to look for family-friendly spaces, I could not think of a better option than this property. We will definitely be back!

Nice Beach Home

This home was in a great location with proximity to local eateries as well as the beach. Owner was extremely responsive, and went so far as to leave us a handwritten welcome note and some goodies stocked in the fridge. Very nice personal touches.

Perfect family stay

We stayed here while dealing with plumbing issues on our home, and couldn't have been happier. My daughter keeps asking to go back to the beach house, it was so kid friendly and fun for us.

The Perfect Stay!

On short notice, Dan was able to take my family with two young kids in, day of booking, due to a cancelation on his end, and it was a total life-saver. His house is the perfect, family-friendly location. We needed a home for an indefinite period, and he worked with my consistently as we were dealing with repairs on our home. The house is so adorable, perfect Leucadia/Encinitas location, style & everything. Dan is so helpful, and thoughtful when it comes to his guests. The house couldn't be better for children and is a great place to relax, entertain, or just get away. We were able to make the best of our little, forced stay-cation while walking the beachy streets, into downtown Encinitas, down to Moonlight Beach and more. You couldn't find a better rental in the area!

Summer 2021 vacation stay

We stayed for 10 days at this great family property. The hosts stocked the house with some age appropriate toys for the kids and some refreshments for the the parents. The beach at the nearby Stone Steps does not get the traffic of Moonlight beach or Leucadia beach. The neighborhood is quiet and is nearby to many dining options and a fantastic coffee shop. We cooked most of our dinners on the great outdoor grill and ate out in the beautifully appointed backyard. The house was nicely appointed with clean sheets, towels, dishes and utensils. The washer and dryer worked well. Overall a great Family vacation house.

Great place!

Dan and Tracy were the ultimate hosts! They really welcomed us into the house with special touches that made us feel comfortable and at home right away. They were very easy to communicate with and were extremely helpful and responsive with anything that we needed during our stay. The house itself was perfect for us. It was just the right size for our family of four, especially since our hosts went out of their way to bring in a toddler bed for our 3 year old. The living room/dining/ kitchen area are light, bright, open and all recently renovated, so it was easy and fun to hang out, cook, watch TV, etc in this spacious area. The front entrance is gated and leads you into a small enclosed grassy area, which allows for easy breezy inside/outside living and made the house feel even more spacious! But the real cherry on top of this house is the back yard -- large, shaded area with plenty of outdoor living amenities; comfortable couch, TV, nice big dining table, pretty lights. The detached garage converted into play room was super cool and TOTAL kid heaven! The beach toys, wagon, boogie boards, kids toys, and more, were all made available to us and that was just a huge bonus for our kiddos! Dan and Tracy have dialed in a super comfortable, relaxed, clean, fully stocked, and adorable rental that made our vacation perfect. THANK YOU guys!! Can't wait to come back!

Absolutely Fantastic, book with confidence

This home is everything it's advertised to be and more. Dan, the host, is super accommodating if there's anything you need, and the odds are that you won't need anything. The home is well equipped, and our 3 year old LOVED the back yard and the available toys. That said, this isn't just a home for kids. The neighborhood is really a hidden gem. Sidewalks throughout, we were able to walk to all the nearby restaurants and beaches. Moonlight beach, although busy, was our favorite, and was only a 15 minute walk away. Going in, we were worried about parking, but we found street parking to be abundant every day. If you're working, there's plenty of room to setup and the internet was fast and reliable. We found this home to be both a great jump-off point for all the area attractions as well as a place to hang out and chill all day.
