The Riverview Suite
Waterfront View and Full English Breakfast!
The Riverview Suite is the only suite on the second level, boasting stunning views of the Kalamazoo River and lush natural landscapes. The suite features a bedroom with a queen-size bed, private bath with shower and the living room with mini-refrigerator and a sectional sofa large enough to sleep a third guest. The suite is stocked with games, puzzles, and cozy places for reading and watching television. Luxury, privacy and hospitality await you.

The Property
A warm attitude of hospitality welcomes you to Taste on the Lakeshore. The property features a private dock with FREE use of canoes and kayaks, fishing on the Kalamazoo River, large fire pit on the patio, and herb and flower gardens to enjoy. Our facilities are arranged for a romantic stay.
• Free on-site parking.
• Coffee, tea and snacks are available in the 24-hour Guest Pantry.
• Price includes a Full English breakfast. Complimentary wine and snacks are available in the late afternoon.
• Laundry available.
• Not suitable for children under 12.

The Riverview Suite requires mobility up and down one flight of stairs.

The Riverview Suite requires a two-day minimum stay booking.
During Your Stay
Dennis and Jim live on the property in the Owners’ Suite and are available and willing to assist with itineraries, local information, and other recommendations. Each suite in Taste on the Lakeshore has a complete Guest’s Guidebook to the community and surrounding areas. Both owners have distinguished backgrounds in the hospitality industry, culinary arts, and higher education. They look forward to helping you create lasting memories of Western Michigan while respecting your need for privacy.

Beautiful place and perfect location! Very clean, had everything we needed. Close driving distance to all the sights! We loved sitting outback by the water. We ran out of time and didn’t get to kayak but we will be back. The best part was the homemade breakfast that was better than anything you would get at a restaurant! The hosts were so kind and helpful with suggestions for the area.

Our visit was absolutely awesome from beginning to end! Dennis and Jim were the best hosts, their home is amazing, and the breakfasts were like none other. We would definitely recommend, and we will be back.

Greal location, great house and great hosts. Very relaxing and comfortable bed and breakfast. We went to Holland, Grand Haven and Saugatuck all close by and easy to get to. Lots more to do in the area that we did not have time for. Enjoyed having an adult beverage in the backyard after the day's events and took a kayak out for a relaxing row on the river. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

A Spectacular weekend with Taste on the Lakeshore Riverview Suite

We had the good fortune to stay at the Riverview Suite at the Taste of the Lakeshore property, located in Fennville, just minutes outside of Saugatuck. This property is beautifully appointed, a spectacular, soothing view of the Kalamazoo River (including through our Suite window) and the most delicious breakfasts both mornings. The bedroom had a very comfortable Queen sized bed, adequate space for our belongings and loads of small touches that welcomed us.The absolute bonus of this property is the two hosts...both of which know a thing or three about hosting, entertaining, cooking and fun. They are well versed in the surrounding towns and special sites and the welcome mat is out, should you like to chill at the house. We have spent many lovely weeks and weekends in Saugatuck for the last 50 plus years and , as of this weekend, have a new favorite place...so much so, we are returning later this summer.

Beautiful property, lovely hosts

Dennis and Jim's home was absolutely lovely. I couldn't have asked for a better view. Breakfast was wonderful every morning. Jim and Dennis were happy to share their knowledge of the area and make suggestions about what to do during the off season. One thing to note about the 2nd floor suite - the living area is lofted so if others are downstairs you will hear them. Not an issue if you are out and about but just something you should know.

A 5 star stay

The setting of the house is beautiful along the river. I wish we had more time to enjoy the yard and gardens but there was so much to do in nearby Saugatuck, Douglas, Fennville, and Holland since the location is central to all these areas. Our suite and the 2nd floor were relaxing and very clean. Jim and Dennis are superb hosts and breakfast every morning was like eating at a 5 star restaurant-chef’s kiss! We’ll be back!

Serene setting; convenient location

This home has a unique combination of a quiet setting while being very close to area restaurants, activities. The beautiful views right on the Kalamazoo River are a constant reminder that you're on vacation. Dennis and Jim are very welcoming while giving privacy. The bedroom, bath and living area of the suite were well furnished, clean, and comfortable; being part of a beautiful home filled with art. Breakfasts are exceptional in taste and presentation to start the day; also a way to converse with other guests. We plan to return.

The Perfect Stay

Dennis and Jim are absolutely incredible hosts and the property was amazing. Our room was well furnished (lovely art all over the home), bed was very comfortable, and shower pressure was perfect. In addition to the common areas, Eric and I really enjoyed the outdoor fire pit and Eric especially loved the dock and subsequent fish he caught. Dennis and Jim gave us the best recommendations for exploring the area and for restaurants, I highly recommend taking their referrals. In addition to being wonderful hosts, we had great conversation with them and the other guests during the gourmet breakfasts and wine/cheese times. We're looking forward to our return!

Excellent B&B, great experience with our stay

This is a very pleasant and peaceful bed & breakfast with two truly great hosts. Everything was perfect with our stay. The indoor accommodations and the daily breakfasts were superb. The outdoor property is scenic and provides great views and direct access to the Kalamazoo River. Enjoyed using the available kayaks to spend some relaxing time on the river. Definitely plan to return.

An excellent location to relax and unwind

We thoroughly enjoyed our long weekend at Taste on the Lakeshore. Dennis and Jim are well deserving of their Super Hosts designation. They served exceptional breakfasts with fresh fruit each morning and provided spot-on recommendations for places to eat and interesting activities in the area. The spacious and comfortable accommodations coupled with the tranquil landscaped grounds on the water were a welcome retreat.

Wonderful!

My husband and I came to stay for our anniversary and had an amazing time! The property is so peaceful and comfortable, and just a short drive from all the shops and restaurants in the area. Dennis and Jim were so kind and accommodating - and breakfast was delicious! We would definitely return!

Wonderful Few Days

A fantastic few days getaway. The property is wonderful and the location is perfect - right on the river with great patio and outdoor space. I can't say enough good things about our hosts Dennis and Jim - they are the epitome of hospitality. The breakfasts cooked up by Dennis are worth going for alone! Our accommodation was spotless and very well appointed. We could not have asked for better.

Fantastic

Beautiful property operated by wonderful hosts.

Every 5-star review for this property is spot on. Its photographs do not do justice to the beauty of this home and its location. The house is spacious, exquisitely appointed and immaculate. And its location on a bend in the Kalamazoo River is remarkably beautiful. The hosts Jim and Dennis are two of the nicest people you would want to meet. They are interesting, informative and their recommendations for places to go, things to do and restaurants to frequent were completely accurate and we tried to follow all of them. And their gourmet breakfasts each morning were beautifully presented and just fantastic. We have stayed in many B&B’s over the years but this place, hands down, by far, was the best, and we’re already scheduled to return in the fall. We cannot recommend this property highly enough.

Fabulous Stay at Taste on the Lakeshore

Like staying with long time friends

My husband and I stayed at Taste of the Lakeshore for a week. We felt we were very well taken care of and had very clean and comfortable accommodations. Dennis and Jim are wonderful hosts. Our breakfast was yummy every morning with plenty to last the whole day. During breakfast it was nice to have conversations with the other guests and get to know them. Everyone was friendly and relaxed. We used the kayaks on the river and enjoyed the gas fire pit at night. We felt at home and would stay with Dennis and Jim anytime. There are 3 different suites available in different sizes. Enjoy your stay!
