Stylish beach front house with stunning views

Enjoy the beach views from the spacious open plan living areas in our uniquely designed "bure" style bach. Bask in the sun on the front deck, or stroll across the front lawn to unspoiled Te Horo Beach. Great swimming in summer, beach walks all seasons.

In summer, enjoy al fresco meals with friends under the pergola in the pretty coastal garden. In winter, relax by the wood fire with a good book, board games, watch your favourite DVDs on the large curved screen TV. or just curl up on the window seat and watch the waves roll in.

Whatever the season, express your competitive spirit with pool, board game, or petanque (a glass of wine in hand).

With local ingredients from nearby farmers markets you can cook up a storm on the BBQ or in the well equipped kitchen. Or enjoy local cafes and restaurants. At risk to the waistline, it's a 15 minute stroll to Kirsty's bus-stop cafe in Sims Rd.

Stylishly furnished: go to sleep to the sound of the waves:
beds are set up with quality linen, towels, and all you need do arrive and enjoy. 3 bedrooms in the house, and 2 bathrooms (1 ensuite). Bedroom 4 (sleepout attached to the garage) is currently in use for storage but queen bed may be available on request. Heaters and electric blankets keep the bedrooms warm

There is "work from home" space in the main bedroom, which also has its own TV.

Only an hour from Wellington on the expressway, or 10 minutes from Waikanae Rail Station, and ten minutes from Otaki's shopping village.

A great venue for a weekend away from the city, or an extended family reunion. Mature renters welcome; the house is less suitable for pre schoolers. Our base rates cover up to 4 guests, and a charge applies for additional guests up to the maximum of 7 adults plus child (on stretcher). The house is not available for parties or gatherings of guests beyond those in residence.

Lovely weekend at a great venue

Well appointed beach house with magnificent location and sea views. Spacious and welcoming layout. The family really loved our stay here to attend a wedding nearby. I would recommend it for a 'Beach retreat' .

This was our second time returning to Denise's beautiful Te Horo beach house and once again we had an absolutely wonderful experience. The house is beautiful, unique and well appointed with a beautiful location right on the beach with stunning views of Kapiti Island. The house is comfortable and we used the kayaks and body boards available at the house almost every day. We couldn't recommend Denise and her house more, for their flexibility and thoughtfulness. They even left a lovely little sand castle building Christmas gift for our four year old daughter. Thank you for a fantastic second stay, we hope to be back again in the future!

Great relaxing place to stay on the Ocean. The owner was top notch and very helpful. She went out of her way to make sure our stay was awesome. The beach house had everything we needed and more. If I could give more than 5 stars I would!

Beautiful relaxing retreat

We had a weekend here - the house is perfect for a big group - with so much space for lounging and eating together. Its even more beautiful than the pictures and such a lovely sociable layout. Super clean, great communication from Denise and lots of little touches that made it extra special. We want to come back next year :)

We loved staying here -- the great views, kitchen, and spacious bedrooms were a great home base. It had everything we needed and we felt very at home with the generous welcome hamper! Excellent selection of reading materials and entertainment. Would recommend this for any group and hope to be back soon.

Magic family get away

What a lovely family long weekend (teens, parents, and elderly parents) celebrating an 86th birthday. Magic location with stunning sunsets, and a hop, skip and a jump to the beach for lovely long walks. Thanks for early/late check in/out, and for the wonderful basket of treats too.

Mid-Winter Weekend

My family enjoyed a wonderful long weekend. The house was very clean and had everything we needed, including a well appointed kitchen. The living/dining area was spacious, modern and had amazing views. The beach was steps away for walks and Otaki was a quick drive for supermarket etc. The outdoor patio and deck must be great in the summer! Host was very responsive.

Lovely Spot

What a lovely place to stay with the family! Denise's communication was second to none, and despite the terrible weather we were unlucky enough to experience, there was still plenty of things to do over our stay. A lovely gift basket awaited us, and we enjoyed all the little extas that were available. There was a lovely kiddies playground just around the corner which we did get to once the weather fined up, and we enjoyed catching sharks off the beach!

An ideal location for a peaceful break

We were looking for a location for a quiet and peaceful stay with our immediate family, where we could relax together. This property ticked all the boxes and Denise the host was outstanding. It was perfect, the house is just brilliant, and the location right on the beach allowed us to enjoy the winter stay in comfort. The house is so well equipped, and the fire is great, we just didnā€™t stay long enough! We will be back, and for longer.

We live and work in central Wellington and escape to the Beach Retreat with friends and family whenever time permits! One of us is Kiwi born and the other originates from Hampshire, England. Our young adult daughter still enjoys the beach experience when she can be lured away from city life.

We love the house and area; we discovered the unique beachside settlement by visiting friends there. It's less than an hour from Wellington, but has a beachside village atmosphere, which leaves suburbia behind. We immediately loved the house when we saw it - unique architecture with its soaring ceiling and wide views to the sea. We enjoy summer, but equally curling up in front of the fire on a winters day is great too.
