Absolute Beachfront! - Large, airy, NEW! holiday house

This spacious beach-front house is completing its rebuild - ready by spring! Some photos have been updated to give an idea, although still not completely finalised. Will load more as available. Main house & up to 4 bedrooms will be included in rental, with part of upstairs being locked off as private. It will retain that traditional kiwi-bach feel. Private and with a full section it offers plenty of space for the kids to play - both grassed and paved - and room to park several cars.

The house has excellent indoor-outdoor flow from the large, modern kitchen via sliding windows or past 5-seater breakfast bar to 8-seater dining room and connected living room beyond to large deck and outdoor dining edged by outdoor fireplace. It has 2 large bedrooms with decks & sea views upstairs, as well as one downstairs with French doors to patio on beach-side of house, and a second ground-floor bedroom currently showing as double+king-single beds but may be converted to bunks or more singles for children, depending on demand. The kids playground 1-along is a great bonus.

Brand new bathroom with bath & separate shower. Separate WC.

The large kitchen is well-equipped. Town water supply & infinity-gas hot water plus UFB wifi an added convenience.

Pukehina is a large beach with (usually) gentle surf ideal for boogie boarding and excellent fishing, but is also flanked by an estuary a few minutes drive along for the kids to kayak or splash around in warm shallows. There is a boat ramp, surf club and the nearby firestation offering first aid is reassuring. There is a shop only a few minutes walk away with takeaways & necessities, & a cafe slightly further along.

It is only a 10 minute drive to Te Puke Golf Club or 15mins to Te Puke Town Centre, 30 mins to Mt. Maunganui, Tauranga Whakatane or 45 mins to Rotorua - all along excellent roads. To refuel the boat, petrol station is only 5 minutes away.

A fantastic, relaxed place to holiday!

Beachside property

I recently had the pleasure of staying at this stunning beachside property, and I couldn’t be more impressed. From the moment I inquired about the booking, the owner’s communication was outstanding—prompt, clear, and incredibly accommodating. It made the whole process so seamless and stress-free.The property itself exceeded expectations. The bedrooms were exceptionally spacious, offering plenty of room to relax and unwind. Each space was thoughtfully designed, with comfortable furnishings and a clean, welcoming atmosphere. Waking up to the sound of the waves and stepping out to a breathtaking view of the ocean was the highlight of my mornings.The location was perfect, with easy access to the beach and nearby amenities. It’s an ideal spot for a family getaway or a peaceful retreat. I highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a combination of comfort, convenience, and excellent service. Can’t wait to return!

Great property, unfortunately nasty owner

The property on arrival was sound, wide open layout beachhouse right on the waterfront, however this was let down by the masses of ant infestations around the house, in each bathroom, most bedrooms and in the kitchen. When I politely asked about why there were ant infestations, the owner quickly shut me down and described it as a natural process of nature, totally avoiding what implications a mass ant infestation has on the safety of the house and house stayers. Also, the timberwork in the house was shoddy to say the least, the upstairs bathroom was jammed because the timberwork had not accounted for timber expansion in the summer, and so when I opened it, it snapped open and part of the door frame snapped off too, the owner is now trying to overcharge me for "breaking" her bathroom door, yet it was a failure waiting to happen because of this owners negligence to care for her property. The owner will tell you to take all your rubbish with you, she makes sure this happens by leaving all the recycling and rubbish bins full at least 3/4, and leaving a spare small bin outside by the road full with wine and beer bottles, laughable really. I also received a full on verbal harassment episode from the owner because of a singular noise complaint at 10pm (where the music was instantly turned off and all was settled), where the owner verbally assaulted me over the phone as she claims I have "ruined her relationship with the neighbours and the police" yet the noise control officers would argue otherwise. On the day after we see the neighbours drone overhead of the property we are staying at and we see flashes which we can only infer as photos taken of us without our permission, that the owner may be in the talks with either neighbours to be spying on us. On the morning of checkout at just before 11am, whilst my friends and I were cleaning and packing the house, the owner decides she has the privelege to absolutely torment my friends and myself that are still packing away our items from the property, she threw tirades of cuss words at everyone, unleashing all her misery and anger on us all, as if she was an infant releasing a tantrum. Now the owner is trying to overcharge me for the most empty claims, apart from one legitmate claim which states I had more guests over than anticipated for a day. To top it off a mice was found outside the washroom alongside the ant infestations. I do not recommend staying at this property at all.

Great location

I stayed at this property with a group of friends. We loved the location as it has an private access to the beach. The house is quite old so we were expecting the quality of the amenities. The showers’ water pressure definitely needs to be fixed. We checked in earlier which was great :) overall it was a great trip.

Wonderful Experience

This property is perfect for nice getaway by the beach. Enjoyed every bit of our stay n the owners were very accommodating. Enough sleeping for 12 of us n nice view from the lounge. We will go back to this place again next time. Thanks for an awesome experience.

Not a good stay

Unfortunately was a bad experience in this property when we arrived we were all so happy to be right by the beach in a beautiful home untill we entered the property and had seen a few things were not right the water pressure in showers were absolute crap! could bearly wash your body the toilet was leaking down stairs and the door could not close. there were cobwebs in food cupboard there were ants every where in the kitchen. up stairs bunk collapsed it had no bolts holding it and the owner has informed me today when I told her about the incident that they have never had a problem with it which I could not believe they did not state that in description lucky no kids were hurt it could have been life threatening!! This house could do with a good clean and fix up the price is not worth the stay at all I will not be returning to this property and I would not recommend it to anyone unfortunately. There was rubbish through out all the toys that we cleaned the beds were horrible one of the beds had a queen base with a double matress on it overall I will rate this property with 1 star only because of the beach

One night stay

Beds were uncomfortable, not much pressure in showers, outside untidy and needs a good tidy up outside as moss and mould and gutters need cleaning but lovely views over the sea

Beautiful location and nice big home which was great for our group. Outdoor fire pit was amazing. Unfortunately none of the plugs in either lounges worked so we were unable to watch TVs or plug heaters in later in the evening which made it really cold in the evening and throughout the night.

Great location but very disappointing condition

The location of this property is absolutely beautiful and the size of the house is great for large groups. However we are extremely disappointed to have paid the price we did for this house in its current condition. The house is made up of all different odds and sods with the traditional old school bach feel which is clearly stated in the listing, so we knew what we were in for and wasn't expecting much but the following points made it extremely unpleasant at times. The mattresses on all beds bar one (downstairs bottom bunk) were appalling. We had to double up spare mattresses where we could and use any spare bedding for extra padding to slightly mask the uncomfortable springs. The curtains in majority of the rooms are either pinned up or on broken rails/rods and in well need of replacement. The doors for the upstairs deck wouldn't open unlike the photos of this listing shows. The photos should be updated to show the current condition of property. The toilet door down stairs doesn't shut fully which is a must with a big house full. The water pressure in both showers is absolutely appalling, it made washing hair/shaving legs near impossible without needing to be in there for 20 minutes - worrying about there being enough hot water for all other guests. We needed to hand wash all the things we used in the kitchen before use as the cupboards made everything smell musty from being damp or weren't completely clean. The host is very accommodating with no problem with early check in and we were able to bring a little dog which along side the location were the two best things about this place. I never write reviews especially bad ones but would hate for someone else to feel the disappointment we have felt with the lack of maintaining or upgrading that this property needs for the cost. The property needs a good spring clean as there are lots of cobwebs/spiders, also the drawers in the kitchen/cupboards/top of fridge had all sorts of rubbish and crumbs throughout and need a good wipe/clean out. New mattresses and the water pressure being dealt with would be game changing or the rate per night being accessed. Sadly we will not be back to this property.

Extended Family

It was a great place for the extended family to stay. 3 generations, 10 adults. We all had different parts of the house to move to when we needed the space but also we all got together around the dining table for a big dinner! Wish I could get the TV to go as we needed to listen to the news

Great Family Beachfront Accommodation

Our annual Labour Weekend catchup was just great at this spacious property. Heaps of space for the four families. Absolute beachfront was a treat and nearby parks kept everyone entertained. Highly recommended

Disappointed that front gate had gap underneath and that we didn't know about the rat poison until we arrived which meant my daughter had to take her two dogs to a friend's Heating could be better Cold on first morning and the small heaters did not assist greatly Good size kitchen and spacious home Nice to have a 2nd lounge for the children to play in The dvd did not work But we enjoyed our stay

Wedding Base Camp

We stayed for my son's wedding. The house contained everything we needed and was used as the base for the Groom and his party to get dressed and have photos. We used the top deck from one of the bedroom's for photos which gave perfect seaview shots. Plenty of space for family to gather. There was parking available which is a plus and driveway not as steep as many. Nadene was great to work with as she was always available for any communications. Perfect.
